- Well done to the gentleman that took time out to go down the shaft to investigate & alert fire service. Could 'Doglost Admin' get his number in event we have another situation in the future? Delighted Martha back home safely.

- Just seen this reply from owners daughter on Facebook, in answer to the questions so thought I'd post it here for everyone to see here, I know not everyone uses FB. "my dad spoke to someone who goes down mines and caps then and he got him to check down it but the man cud only go down to 70 foot and he saw her and said yep shes down there so then the fire service came."

- Do you need help searching Claire? x
- 2014-06-06 17:18 Claire
- Balwest is a small hamlet approx 1 mile from Ashton (A394 between Helston & Penzance). It is at the bottom of Tregonning Hill. It is a well known mining area and we fear Martha may have fallen down one of the open mine shafts in the area.

- Balwest? Not sure of location as very rural. Can we have more details to enable help with search in right area?

- Have spoken to Mr Salter, Marthas owner, have e-mailed advice.
It seems his wife has been out putting loads of posters up.
I have also given them a number of a contact for open mines, although I understand Mrs Salter has already spoken to someone. - 2014-06-05 17:35 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- Will make contact & forward advice.

- I have spoken to owner and she went missing from the garden. She does like to go off for a short time to chase rabbits but does come back. She fell down a mine shaft when she was 11 months old and this area is wriggled with them. They have listened for her to some of them near by but no sound. I have given her a number to a mine expert. She already has postered the area. Max, it is still worth getting in touch as I haven't given her the full advice

- Bless her. I hope she will be home soon but the more posters you can get up the better as folk often don't remember they have seen a dog unless they know there is one missing that needs seeing.
Will share her and hope you will soon have her back x - 2014-06-05 07:51 Gino
