- Postcode is KT18 and is now added (thanks)
The latest news from S who reported this dog to Doglost is that he is possibly a Mastiff and has been on the Downs for at least a week. The Rangers have not been able to catch him and are a little wary of him as he is a big dog.
S says he appears quite placid and is going to go on to the Downs again today to see if he will come to her .. I have sent her our Doglost advice for catching a dog. If she can catch him then the Rangers will go and collect him from her. The Rangers are wanting him off the Downs as it will be covered in racehorses tomorrow!!! (It's Derby Day!)
UPDATE: S says "went out about 3.30pm again but did not see him at all although took a slightly different route owing to the racing being on at the time on the other side of the downs"
>> S will print 'catching your dog' info and give to Rangers but they will be very busy Derby Day so will try to give it to them on Sunday. Thanks so much for your help and for caring about this dog S.
Possible the dog is in hiding as it is so busy. Also possible it's travellers dog and not loose today. We will hv to wait and see.
I have shared this page on to Fbk pages .. DL South East, Surrey and also tweeted to several of the racehorse trainers in the area. Loads of them and others hv retweeted but obviously this is a very important and busy time for them .. I did this not only to see if any of them knows the dog's owner but also so they will be aware that this dog is out near the gallops when they take their horses up them in the early mornings.
Good luck to S .. hope you catch him!Last edited: 2014-06-06 18:55:38 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2014-06-06 07:51 Unknown

- This dog has been reported as seen running loose on the Epsom Downs this week. Big week with a lot of racegoers as important meeting this week and it's the Derby on Sat .. will try to get a mention of the dog on to one of the racing channels, but not sure I will be successful. Do we have any helpers near to the Downs that would be able to help the rangers/wardens set up a feeding station and trap in the area?
