This is just the most wonderful news.....rightly back with their owner who I am sure would have never handed them over in the first place if they knew they were to be sold via a sale site. Trust, honesty and faith in judgement are important in such cases. I am so relieved for Lacey & Monty and their owner ...well done everyone xx

Posts amended until I can speak to the officer dealing ( currently on leave) and can confirm that he is aware his details are on this site.
We have had a number of similar cases concerning dogs given away then sold on. I need to establish facts from police and if in fact a CRN has been issued. Normally it is a CAD or LOG number and often cases become a civil dispute.

It is in fact a complicated matter as if someone willingly gives away a dog then they are giving up the right of ownership.
Whilst it is morally wrong I cannot see that a crime has been committed.
If anyone wishes to rehome their dog it is far better they take to a rescue tan advertise on the internet.

Police have been alerted - awaiting crime reference number. A reward has been offered for information leading to the return of these dogs.

Make sure you advise the police and obtain the CRN.....they should be able to get their information from the sale site x

The person you gave the dogs to obtained 'goods' by deception. List them as stolen with the chip company. A warning to all - this situation is all too common. Only re home dogs through a registered rescue centre. Hope you track them down and the people who buy them from Gumtree turn out to be loving new owners. x
