So sad it appears Spot was never found. So many people were sharing and tweeting for him and supported his Thunderclap. You are still remembered little Spot and wherever you are I hope you are safe, warm and loved. God Bless little one xx

Any news Slattery ?

Sara. ..I can't get anything on this link..Can you remember where you saw the post?.. I think it's always best to try and ring owners when there has been no activity on a dogs page for a while..x

Spot is included in the Help Find Them Tweetathon on Friday 13th February. People are stil sharing for him. Someone somewhere knows something. Spot is 18, he needs and deserves to be home with his family. Please, whoever has him, do the right thing, take Spot home.
Helperpoppys petsLesley (ID84584)
Please don't forget Lady's story (80797) - stolen from the garden and because of disabilities then dumped. An elderly man found her and for all the time missing, he was keeping her safe, warm and fed. He was only 10 mins away (unsure if by car or on foot). I would suggest a door to door leaflet drop several streets away from house.

I'm so sorry that Spot is still missing, you must be devastated. I just phoned so that I can keep our records up to day in the hope that you'd got him back...I feel so sad when I look at his photograph, knowing his incredible age - he must be so confused poor boy. I hope you get better news soon.
Slattery
Apologies for no update. Please do not slate me for not keeping in contact with each and everyone, there are some certain circumstances going on. Still no news whatsoever. I am as confused as the rest. Its hard to keep thinking about it as its shocking and frustrating. I appreciate all concerns. Thanks
Maggie
I emailed owner, sadly spot is still missing
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
Yes Faithsmum, I have made several attempts to speak with the owners of Spot but despite leaving a message and my phone number they haven't got back to me. I have just phoned again and left a message (11am. 19.10.14). If I hear anything I will report on here.
AlisonH
Text sent for an update.

I'm shocked that the owners are not updating or even answering or responding to calls x poor fur baby xxxxx
Faithsmum
Still no update has the owner been contacted at all ?
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
Well I'm sorry to report that after phoning last Saturday and leaving a message I've heard nothing back from the phone number given. I hope if anyone else tries they have more success, it would just be nice to hear SOMETHING...anything, missing or found or still looking or not. I'd be frantic if it were one of mine and I'd never give up until I found something out.
Cath
I cannot believe that an 18 year old dog can just disappear into thin air. Even if he was hit by a car or something, somebody must know. He is the image of my baby girl and she is 17. I know what I would feel like if somebody stole her and I never found out what happened.
kp
A body (dog) similar size has been found at sandy bay Porthcawl near the lifeguard station. Unfortunately it must have been there for a while. There is some white fur leading the person who found it to think it might be a westie. She thinks the muzzle is too short to be spot though.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I have phoned this morning but it was an answer phone, I've left a message and will update here if they call me back.
Mia Cat
Can't believe that Spot is still missing. So sorry. Will tweet him again from @MissingPetsGB on twitter.
BorderCol
And another one watching and hoping he is safe.
Nanni Byron
Forgive me for asking but have the two phone numbers given above been called? I too check on here each evening and have been following this sad story. Hope there is some good news soon.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
Thanks JLSmith for the update....I would love to see an update about Spot - thank goodness there are some of us who are thinking of the poor old boy.
Unknown
Thanks JLSmith for update. I would .love Slattery to be reunited. Hope owners reply soon.
JLSmith
I've kept this old boy on top of our groups and pages all the time he's been missing. We've tried to contact the owners, sent texts etc, asking if there's anything we can do to help or even if he was found and they forgot to let us know, but we haven't had a reply yet.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
It's over three months now since this old boy went missing and I see hardly anything about him elsewhere..i.e. facebook etc. other dogs are on there every day...making them too hot to handle...don't his owners care where he is? I'd never rest if he was mine, I'd be desperate to know something, good or bad....I just don't understand it...why bother registering with dog lost if we don't get updates from the owners?. I log on everyday just in the hope of hearing some news, even if it's not good news...so very sad, poor old chap.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I can't believe that nothing seems to be happening about this dog, if he were mine it would be in the local newspapers, local radio everything, maybe he is but it would be nice if his owners would come on here and update us.
Sarah67
Someone must have him, it must be awful for his owners not knowing what has happened to him, can they not start a campaign to find him? put his little face everywhere, was there no CCTV footage of the girls in the town?
BorderCol
I keep checking on here too, can anyone local give us any news please? He is so vulnerable.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I look on here every day but it seems to have gone cold, no news...is no one looking for him, I wish I lived nearer, I wouldn't give up on him poor old soul.
Mia Cat

Good idea Sallybee, we often hear of lost pets on our local radio. I keep checking in hoping to see some good news, he must be somewhere, I just hope he is being kindly treated and looked after wherever he is.
sallybee
Have you contacted the local radio station and even the local newspaper to put out an appeal? In some areas they are very kind and helpful and it may just prompt someones mind, or prick someones conscience, and get lovely little Spot back home where he belongs. xx
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I do wish he could get found, he's got to be somewhere, someone knows something poor old chap. I'd be frantic if he was my dog. It's so sad. I've shared it on my facebook again.Last edited: 2014-08-13 08:18:43 by Jan.Petsearchuk
Goldenfrodo
Still no news but I've asked people to share him again on Facebook.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I come here several times a day hoping to see that he's been found....it's so sad that an old chap like Spot is missing from his normal home. Someone knows something, why can't they do the right thing and take him home?.
Mia Cat
Still sharing Spot on twitter @MissingPetsGB. So sorry that he is still missing. x
Goldenfrodo
Posted on new group Doglost South Wales. Lets hope even more people will share his poster x
Goldenfrodo
People in South Wales are still sharing Spot's poster. Somebody must know something.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
So very sad that he hasn't been found yet. Didn't I read somewhere that he has Cushings or have I dreamed that? if he has he needs very regular medication and blood tests (been there done that with one of my Poodles)...I do hope he will eventually be found safely before it's too late for the sweet old boy. It's just heartbreaking to think of him being away from his family at his age.

Nanni Byron
Someone, somewhere, knows something! Come on that person(s), DO THE RIGHT THING to get this poor old boy back where he belongs with his rightful owners!!
Unknown
Please if anyone has any knowledge of where Spot is please find it in your heart to contact the owner to mend a broken heart, or Dog.lost if you would prefer that. Spot is elderly, and needs to be with his family in his twilight years. If those girls did take him, they need a "Kick up the backside" for causing this heartache. Get found soon Spot. Presume police informed, and he is still being made "TOO HOT TO HANDLE". If someone does have Spot, and knows the pain, and hurt it is causing his family, not to mention Spot himself, then you are CRUEL, CALLOUS, and SELFISHNESS PERSONIFIED.
duffs54
So sad, poor old boy, hope he is reunited asap he needs to be at home xx
Baydogs
Still hoping for news regarding this lovely whiskery lump of sweetness.

To anyone harbouring this cherished lad-
You may think that you are taking good care of him but keeping an old boy like this from all he knows, people and surroundings, is not kind. It is cruel.

Old dogs, like old people, prefer the familiar. They cannot cope with change. Change is stress to them, especially when they have cataracts and a heart murmur. He is bound to be bewildered and pining for those he has loved for so long.

Please do the right thing by him, and either return him to his owners or ring Doglost in confidence and tell us where he can be found.

Any news at all will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Goldenfrodo
Thanks Hazel x

As Spot is being shared on Facebook even more, is there anybody who could put him on twitter again? Thanks.
I'll find out if we could get anymore media coverage.

Lets have a really big effort in South Wales to see if we can find him. He must be somewhere
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
As neither I or Mollychops use Facebook, from this page it looked as though no info had been given to the owner. That is why we both stepped in when we did knowing how busy Wales is and the whole area is a huge one to cover. Naturally, we all want and are working towards the same outcome and that is to find out what has happened to Spot and the continual hope that he is OK and found safe.

As a long term terrier owner and concerned person I have been watching his page from the start.

Come on Spot we want some news x
Goldenfrodo
Thanks very much Clarkey x Its so sad that we haven't had any news at all of this poor boy but we'll all keep on looking and sharing x

Hi goldenfrodo .. I have shared to my friends in Wales, to Team Ben, Lizzie's Barn Sanctuary and Lost and Found RCT Fbk pages. Hope that helps.

Don't worry Jan. I got lots of helpers (mainly from Facebook) who live in the South Wales area and they are still looking for Spot. He's being shared all over the Wales FB Groups as well.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I'm so pleased that people are still looking and that his owners aren't giving up...poor old chap must be somewhere...so very sad.
Goldenfrodo
I sent Spots owner all the advice sheets when he first went missing. He's been shared all over the Facebook Groups in Wales and lots of helpers in that area have been sharing, postering and looking for him. Its very sad that we haven't had any news yet of him
but we wont give up until we find out whats happened to him
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
So sad...I log on here several times a day hoping for good news or even some news....he's got to be somewhere, his sad face makes me cry...poor little soul and I feel for his owners, they must be so worried about him after all those years...he's too old to go walkabout.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Thanks Baydogs, that is the case. Saddly, still no news. Please keep looking and sharing about Spot.

Have we gotr a helper in the Port Talbot area?
Baydogs
I'm sure that I read somewhere (but can't remember where) that Spot has a slight heart murmur and the beginnings of cataracts. Maybe the owners could confirm. Would that be helpful to add to the poster details?

I have looked at this dear old face so many times lately that I'm sure if he turned up in my area I'd know him straight away.

It would be so good to have some positive news here. If anyone knows anything about Spot's whereabouts please get in touch.Last edited: 2014-07-15 18:18:02 by Baydogs

I could cry when I see this old boy is still missing, I'm going to circulate him again to petsearchers etc. How sad that he isn't back with his loving family, he is too old to be out there with strangers, poor old boy, his owners must be frantic with worry.

tweeting x
Mia Cat
So sorry that Spot is still missing. I am repeatedly tweeting him and including his DogLost poster on twitter via @MissingPetsGB. There are hundreds of retweets. I hope you have good news soon.
Baydogs
I see that Spot has been mentioned on Facebook's Dog Theft Action too. Over ten thousand views, 925 tweets,68 shares (here) plus all the posters and media attention ...its incredible that no-one has seen this dear old chap.

Please,if you think you may have seen Spot, contact DogLost in confidence, or the numbers above. An old dog like this needs to be in familiar surroundings. Please be pro-active and a part of his safe return home.

Don't forget to keep visiting local rescue kennels, just because you've been there once and he's not there doesn't mean that he won't be there the next day, keep going, keep trying, don't give up...Good Luck, I'm so sorry that the poor little chap hasn't been found already.
Mia Cat
Have been sharing Spot on twitter ( @MissingPetsGB ) . Will continue to do so. I am so sorry that he isn't home yet. We'll do what we can.

I am sure you have done this, but make sure all the heads of local schools know about Spot and his circumstances.....amazing how vigilant school children are in such matters....also youth clubs and youth associations....I wish I was closer to help but rest assured, constantly tweet for help via Twitter for your dear boy xx we I'll never give up finding him xx
Baydogs
Unfortunately too far away to help but keep popping back here hoping to see an update with some good news.
To the Slattery family and Spot himself; my very best thoughts for a swift and safe return home.
xx
BorderCol
Thanks for bumping him Owl. Can't bear to think he is forgotten .
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
Also window cleaners, bus and taxi depots, vets waiting rooms, flyers under windwscreen wipers in cars parked locally and Jayelle is right, old dogs can easily get confused and get into corners and become unable to get out again...also sadly old animals take themselves off to die...check your garden & neighbours gardens very thoroughly...Good Luck, I keep checking in hoping to see that he is home.
Shelagh
As his been missing a while think it would be good idea to phone all rescues vets etc again. Also maybe put up some more posters with different headings to get peoples attention.put a poster on all school gates with reward on it.( not specific amount). Give out new posters to postmen milkmen refuse collectors again. After a while people need reminding.
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Look here daily and tweet daily for him, hoping he is found....will tweet appeal for him today.....stay safe little man xx
DogLostOwl
We normally only bring dogs back to top of site for new info or sightings, but I have bumped Spot to top in deference to his extreme age.
BorderCol
Can we bring him into the foreground somehow? If not stolen from the garden I should think he may well have walked forwards into a small space such as between a shed and garden wall, or crept under a shed, and been unable to reverse out again. Very old dogs seem to get like this and then just stay there awaiting help.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Somebody must know something and I share your thoughts and frustration Jayelle, Jan and Janie. Hoping there are local people still looking and remember he could be anywhere. Lets hope out prayers are answered.
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I haven't heard anything, I log on here twice each day to see if there are any updates, I hate to think of any lost dogs but particularly old ones like Spot (& Darcy a Poodle who is also old, scared and lost).
BorderCol
It seems to have gone very quiet on this sweet old dog, is there no news about him at all?
Pet SearchersJan.Petsearchuk
I log on here every morning hoping to see it turned blue to say Spot has been found, it must be heartbreaking for his owners....where is he? someone knows something surely. I do so wish he could be found, he's too old to be out there fending for himself....I hope wherever he is he is being taken care of...sigh!

If the people that have taken Spot are reading this please take Spot to a place of safety i.e. vet, rescue centre, police station immediately. Just think how you would feel to be taken from your home of so many years - frightened and confused I would imagine so please do the right thing and return Spot. Julie x
