This is been shared on face book..Please can anyone local to the 'Haldon Hill, Devon' area, please keep an eye out for Bragi. The recent 'wolf' eating a deer carcass sighting could very well be the stolen Bragi, an eye witness has confirmed the likeness, Bragi is a Norwegian Elkhound and would have no trouble with a deer! I am tagging some 'local' friends into this post so the audience is widened. If any one has any information, please contact myself or go to the facebook page 'findbragi' or contact Nicola Cree direct. Thank you in advance. Possible sighting received this message today : I have just come across your page.
I was out walking my dogs today and I noticed a man walking an Elkhound on an extendable lead today at 12.30pm at a place called Barons Haugh in Motherwell.

I wish I had paid more attention, I know the dog wasn't young and he had a bit of grey on his face.

I will go again and try and get a photo if I see him again. Hopefully he is local and goes there regularly.

Any dog walkers in the area please keep an eye out and contact me if you see anything I will be driving down for a look about next week

Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Have got fingers crossed for you xx

Free to register on, every bit helps, I have registered my two girls on it xx
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Still here, search every night. I was told about dogpages a website with all rescue kennels etc all over the country. I pick an area every couple of days, I then send an email to every one on the list for that area, it's amazing how much response I have had, also means a lot more people aware and looking out for them. I send every one a copy of the poster along with a few photos, well worth doing. It only takes one person to recognise them xx
Toast Master
Thanks Elaine keeping my eyes peeled for yours too.

Had to call 999 about a dog on the fast lane of the M8 in Glasgow, between junctions 11 and 12 (near the Fort shopping centre). This was just after 5.30pm. The dog was picked up by the police, but it has been injured and taken to PDSA. It was a big dog, looked a bit like a husky crossed with something but I couldn't be sure. I hope it's okay... THATS THE COMMENT ON THE POST XXXX On FACEBOOK WORTH CHECKING XXXX

Nicola has checked and the dog in Dornoch did not belong to the lady in Dingwall. Are you able give a description of the person with the dog?
Raidersmummy
Many thanks for this report, which I'll pass on to Nicola. I know that there is a male elkhound resident down the road, near Dingwall. We can check if it was him. Maybe the owner would put some posters up too. Thanks agan!
Lynn
Maybe totally unrelated but whilst visiting family in Dornoch, highlands, last week I saw a woman walking a male elkhound. I noticed it as you don't see many and I am a lover of spitz breeds. May have been a tourist rather than local.
Raidersmummy
This week has seen Nicola driving from one side of Scotland to the other, and beyond, as a lead led to the Berwick area. Nothing concrete discovered, but the area has been postered. The search goes on.Last edited: 2014-08-01 11:12:05 by Raidersmummy

Three weeks today since Bragi went missing. Missing my boy so much the pain I feel is unbearable hoping that he will be back home soon where he belongs. Think I'm doing ok then it hits me again. There has been around 5 possible sightings in the Shortlees area of Kilmarnock which would indicate that someone has him. Please whoever has him let him come home to his mummy, there will be no questions asked regarding how you came by him we just want our boy back xxxx

The search for Bragi continues. He may no longer be in the area. The word is getting out nationally, but we still need people everywhere to share his poster and the link to the Help Find Bragi page: https://www.facebook.com/findbragi If you see an older elkhound male that might be him in your area, and you haven't seen it before, please ask the owner where it came from. It could just be Bragi.
Toast Master
Have been going out searching on a daily basis with the girls and also phoning every organisation known its really got so bad that I don't need to give mine or Bragi's name when I phone. Karen and I laid a trail today of old baby clothes , nappies etc my daughter has been out and about round Ayr and Girvan putting out posters. Tonight I will be printing off more for tomorrow when myself and Karen are planning to visit all local farms, pet shops, pubs, riding schools etc and get his posters out everywhere you could imagine xxx

Message from Nicola, Bragi's owner: "Now one week today since my beautiful boy went missing, we just want him back. My 6 year old is crying in her sleep for him and sleep walking I'm worried what effect the stress of this will have on her immune system and I don't think we could cope with a hospital admission at this time. Please, please, please if anyone has information about his whereabouts or if there are any sightings then get in touch he is a much loved member of our family and its not the same without him".
Raidersmummy
A possible sighting at Craigie Woods near Ayr had Nicola out, hoping, but it turned out to be a female akita, possibly just off a litter. The word is getting out there.
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
Hope he is found soon what a lovely dog xxx
Raidersmummy
I've spoken to Nicola again this evening, and she is now offering a reward for Bragi's return. If someone is holding him, I would ask them to consider that Nicola has three daughters who are missing Bragi very much. One of the girls, two of whom are very young, has a serious illness and her condition is not helped by the stress that Bragi's disappearance is causing to the family. If you have Bragi, or know where he is, please, please contact Nicola, I beg you. Someone, somewhere must know something! A Help Find Bragi page has ben set up on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/findbragi

Raidersmummy
Day 2 and no sightings of Bragi anywhere. Thanks for updating/enlarging the photos. The word is being spread via social media. I will check that posters are going up. Nicola is finding this very difficult. There are small children involved too.
Raidersmummy
Another photos of Bragi here: https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=911893662160962&set=p.911893662160962&type=1&theater His owner confirmed two hours ago that he is still missing, although they have been out for most of the night searching for him. This is sheep country, so it is deeply worrying.
Raidersmummy
Checked with owner and he is tattooed, but not chipped. A visitor let the dog out of the gate and he bolted before the owner could catch up. I can't believe this - I only registered my own dog a couple of days ago, and now I got a call that a friend's dog has gone. She's distraught. I'm finding it difficult to share this more widely, as it comes up with Newfoundland instead of Norwegian Elkhound.Last edited: 2014-06-22 21:43:26 by Raidersmummy

Sorry to see that BRAGI LATEST NEWS is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (70795)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
