- Had a chat with Peggy's owners this evening.
Apparently they were having a restless night as Peggy was still missing and in the early hours they heard what they thought was their other dogs barking. However, they don't usually do this and Peggy's owner found that it was not them at all. So it had to be Peggy. The barking stopped but they went outside to have look anyway. They suddenly heard a quiet whining coming from behind the log pile and when they went near to it Peggy launched herself at them! I asked if she could have been there all the time but they thought not. When a car backed into the drive this morning she literally bolted back indoors with her tail imbetween her legs so they think that someone did try to catch her and that she had been terrified and had run off to hide. Probably too scared to come out in the daylight.
At least they found her and she was able to look after her pups again.
Owners are over the moon to have her back unharmed. Last edited: 2014-06-23 23:34:11 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2014-06-23 20:38 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex

- Sorry to hear about Peggy going missing. I know what you are going through as we my friend has had her dog missing for ten days and we were advised to put out numerous posters. Please contact all the rescue centres including dogs trust Raystede and kit Wilson . As it was very hot today she may rest up until it becomes cooler. We have seen one or two dogs out at night time. I will drive around you area on the way to work tomorrow and going home whilst I am looking for our friends dog.if you require my contact number please let me know thinking of you

- Thanks Lankeela .. I have put the new photo at the top so it appears on the poster page. You may need to refresh this page a couple of times to see it!
I have spoken to Peggy's owner and she is doing everything right. Has searched and already put some posters out locally and let people know in her area that Peggy is missing.
However she feels that Peggy has been taken and has reported this to the Police who have given her an reference number.
It's just possible that if Peggy went out on the lane by the farm that someone took her thinking she was lost .. if that's the case then hopefully they will report finding her to the dog wardens (they are a 24hr service around here so are already aware) or take her to a vets to be =checked for a microchip tomorrow. So fingers crossed.
Or maybe someone tried to catch her and she ran off scared in the wrong direction to home..if so, then she may well get herself home tonight. Again, fingers crossed.
I have shared the link to this page on Fbk .. my page, DL South East, Official Doglost East Sussex and other pages.
Riverlady .. please would you tweet maybe including that Peggy has puppies at home?
Thanks to all who have posted comments on here and shared the page.
Hope that tomorrow brings good news.

- Owner lives on a farm and was outside gardening with the dogs mooching about. She has puppies so unlikely she would leave them voluntarily - been missing since about 5.30 this afternoon.
