Absolutely great news, anyone who has befriended a chow will know what they have, they are literally part of the family.
On a lighter note it will stop people from stopping us in Newquay and asking us about our chow, Charlie, we didn't mind one bit as it showed how much people cared and that they were keeping a lookout.
Well done everyone and welcome home Bungle

Bungle was spotted this morning near the road at Trevemper in Newquay by a policeman who was just going home, he tried to catch him, but he ran off. The officer rang Alison (Bungles owner) & she went down in her pyjamas to look for him. She had been searching for a while when she got a call from a vets who had her poster, saying a Mr Killingback had rung them to say a 'Husky' was chasing his chickens. He lives near Trevemper roundabout. She went down & established it was Bungle who had been there, but he had gone off under the fence thru' the fields. She went searching the fileds & was about to give up, but saw another gate & thought she would just have a look through it. Alittle head popped up & there was Bungle. She followed advice she had been given & turned her back on him & threw biscuits down, walked away slightly, then crouched down and called him gently. He eventually came over & leapt on her, covering her in kisses. He is fine, if a bit scruffy.
She is delighted & would like to thank everyone involved for sharing info etc.

The owner has been out this morning looking. Shortly after she left the area her mother had a phone call to say that Bungle had been seen by a neighbour in the same area where she had been looking, in a field where there are hay bales. She is going again tonight.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Sadly no sightings last night. A feeding station has been set up at the back of the persons house where Bungle was spotted. There is rough ground behind, leading to farmers fields. As the crow flies it is probably about half a mile from Bungles house. Hopefully he will be back home soon. We really need a confirmed sighting. The owner is going to go every night when she isn't working.

OH Maxine so hope you can find him and get him home ! x
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
There has been another possible sighting of Bungle in the same place as last night. The people who have seen him are sure it is Bungle. The owner is not able to go tonight as she has to work. I will go up there for a couple of hours & make enqs & do a stakeout
JANJAN
Please , please Bungle let them find you .. You need to be at home with SIS !!
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
There has been a possible sighting of Bungle off the main road A392. The owner was phoned today by someone who thought they saw Bungle at their fence in the back garden (which backs onto fields at the back of Morrisons)
http://en.mappy.com/#d=+Pendragon++crescent+Newquay&p=map. it is the area south of Pendragon Crescent, bounded by the 2 main roads. The owner has been down there this evening scenting. She showed a photo to the people who said it could have been Bungle. They had seen his poster in Morrisons store :)

I understand that the reporter from the Cornish Guardian/West Briton is doing an article on both Bungle & Lexie (out next Thursday). Hope it brings some news

Have shared his details to a breeder in Kent who is a friend of a friend. She will keep an eye out, as she had hers stolen last year (& got it back)
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
PanRhodes, he is on fb on the DOGLOST CORNWALL site & 'please look out for these dogs in cornwall' fb page & Red Alert. If anyone can think of any other then please feel free to share & add
MamaBas
I agree JeanT - it's not as if this breed is really that 'common'. Good job both are neutered but what is going on out there? I hope both can be found and reunited with their clearly distraught owners. Or at least what's happened to them discovered. The not knowing must be ghastly.
PamRhodes
This is probably not very helpful, I think I saw this dog on sunday afternoon at about 3pm'sh running towards lidl carpark opposite treloggan ind estate. I was coming out of morrisons and saw him running in the road, I stopped my van outside macdonalds, got out to help stop him but he ran back towards bookers car park. I saw a lady running after him (not sure if it was the owner). When I got into lidl car park I walked up to the road but there was no dog and no lady. I assumed she had caught up with it. I have 3 dogs myself and live in newquay but away this week so didnt get the dog lost alert until today. I really hope you find bungle. I would think if he got out himself he wouldnt have been taken by anyone. Dogs can be amazing creatures, I just hope someone sees him, takes him in and gets him reunited with hus owner soon. Has someone put him on facebook?!! It may help! - Pam

Have been out with Bungles owner today, postering & looking in hedgerows etc. We have put loads of posters up around area & a bit further, & Alison (Bungles owner) has put them in businesses in Treloggan ind est, supermarkets, doctors surgery, local holiday parks, bus stops, lamp posts. We can only keep our fingers crossed now that he is too hot to handle.
I have put one in Monkey Tree holiday park, goonhavern pet centre & Groomers too
JeanT
Very strange that there have been no sightings of Bungle. Worrying, two Chow Chows completely disappeared. Very striking looking dogs too.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Well done Max, let us know as soon as they appear in the papers or on the radio and we will bump the pages. It is unusual to have ChowChows missing, 2 in the same county is most strange.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Have spoken to a reporter for West Briton newspaper, who has been given this info & that of Lexi ref 68830. He is hoping to do an article on them both (both owners have agreed to this :) ) hopefully something will come of it
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Have added info to Pirate fm website & BBc radio cornwall info desks.
Owner doesn't have own computer, so any help with getting posters printed would be appreciated.

Still no news, owner out searching & postering.

Now another Chow has gone missing, and Newquay isn't a million miles away from Crackington Haven. I wonder if there's a connection?
