- Spoken with Jo on Thursday night as I was going to go out and search that evening but Jo seems to think that Dixie may have been seen the day after she went missing in the village and was going to follow up with the cleaning lady that thought she had seen Dixie. I'm worried regards her condition and also that she is going senile maybe she is walking round in circles ..? Will contact Jo today x
- 2014-07-04 18:50 Mollychops
- Jenny rang me earlier, Tiga has done a lot of work the last couple of days in the heat, Im hoping they will come,as here it is much cooler with rain forecast over the weekend. Yaay . Its very hard to track in baking hot weather. Ive spoken to owner , still nothing apart from the sighting. Im so hoping this lovely girl is found soon
- 2014-07-03 16:37 Reynard
- Had reply from Jo she managed to get hold of the farm hand today , that had sighted Dixie but was un confirmed at the time.
He definatly saw Dixie at the brook around 10am on Thursday, Jo had previously walked there that day @ 5.30am looking for her. It seems somone else may have seen her in their garden that morning also (unconfirmed as yet)
Jo is going to contact Dogwarden and chip company in case she may have been pick up.
Hopefully now Jo can piece together Dixies route on that day she went missing.
Fingers crossed x Last edited: 2014-07-03 16:44:02 by Reynard - 2014-07-03 15:40 Reynard

- I am going to go again this evening and will take her half brother Snoop dog who is Dixie's half brother I have a horrid feeling she may be stuck fast down a rabbit hole..:( she gets a swollen belly with her Cushing's disease and her adrenal gland not working so she has a pot belly and without medication it does get more swollen so she may not be able to wriggle free. It's been a week now Since she disappeared I am praying she is okay will update tonight .. Thanks for all your help amazing volunteers. - I wish I lived nearer and could help. Maybe Jack, their other dog, is their best bet right now. Didn't he show interest in certain rabbit holes when the owners retraced their steps? Is it possible Dixie is in there?? Just a thought.

- Ive just read an email from owners, they are very grateful to Snoopdog and Claire for searching, they are sure she will have gone into undergrowth , where there are lots of rabbit holes. Its just finding the right spot, as its a big area. More posters going up today

- Just come on here to suggest a search , great minds think alike Snoopdog !. If Dixie isn't found by the weekend, I will try and get some helpers organised. tHere arent many that locally , but I will do what I can Hopefully will hear back from owners today.

- Hi there I have been back twice to see if there is any sign of Dixie but there seems to be not a trace ..:( thanks Claire .. I put up a few posters and suggested more need to go up but Dixie isn't a well dog Jo thinks maybe more than Cushing's going on as well as being a little senile. :( the thing is if she is hiding then there is so much undergrowth / hedgerows and the grasses are at their highest at this time of year so many possible places she could hide... I'm sad that there's been no sightings of Dixie I think Jo and Giles may need get searching a bit more maybe organise a co-ordinated search ... Maybe HO needs to give them some more tips on what to do next..?
- 2014-06-30 21:48 Mollychops
- Thanks Claire, that's brilliant of you. Ive just tried owners for an update , Sounds like more posters need going up, I will suggest this to owners. I always stress to owners with missing dogs, that you can never put up too many!

- Been out two hrs looking but nothing. Walked two fields each side of stream she went from and along main rd.drove round Langford filkins and broadwell. The only posters I see were by the entrance to field she was lost from
Maybe owners should poster main rd and villages. Stopped a local and he was aware of her which is good. Almost done emergency syop and jumped out car for a hare in a field and a cat lol.hope shes safe home soon. - 2014-06-30 18:28 AlisonH
- Claire there is no organised search just appealing for people to go looking as and when they are able to. Might be worth giving the owner a call.
- 2014-06-30 18:25 claire
- Just read the directions below.i ll take my dog for a walk there shortly if I can find it lol.its about 20 mins from me so worth a try!

- Snoopdog you are doing an amazing job in the search for Dixie . I sent owners advice sheets and a link to the poster earlier this morning which covered postering and scenting guidelines , and a general advice sheet etc. Ive just spoken with owners again , and nothing yet.Dixie could be a bit senile now given her age , as where she would have made her way back home before on a walk she knows, she not be able to do so now. Ive suggested contacting all local farmers , which I think they have done. She has always loved rabbiting and she may have gone to ground possibly. I will ask Admin to alert helpers in the OX18 AND sn7 Postcodes
- 2014-06-28 13:04 snoopdog
- Langford is situated in Oxfordshire but it is a Gloucestershire postcode as it is on the border of Oxfordshire / Gloucestershire so I think OX18 and SN7 postcode alerts should be sent out if they haven't been already as these are close postcode areas to where Dixie went missing about 10 miles away or so. Please can you send out to registered doglost volunteers if you haven't already ..? Thanks Jayne Last edited: 2014-06-28 13:06:37 by snoopdog

- Hi there just come back from being out with Jo and Giles Dixie's owners for the past couple of hours we have retraced walk from where she went missing ... Fields running along the river half way between filkins and Langford link road there is a metal railing type bridge on the left opposite is a small layby for parking if you park there and cross the road and follows the footpath along the river Dixie went missing about 200 meters or so on the left by the riverbank. River isn't very high at all as the hot weather has reduced water depth to about a foot or so . Banks are easily accessible so if she wanted to have a paddle or get a drink then getting in and out wouldn't be a problem. Lots of deep rabbit holes which jack was quite interested in today just hoping she hasn't gone down one of these. A farm worker has said that he thinks he saw her on Thursday in one of the fields about 1/4 mile from home..? I expect she is holed up somewhere as filthy weather this morning we got drenched so wandering out in this weather is probably the last thing she wants to be doing right now.! Posters been put up in the village and surrounding areas the owners are going out again this afternoon to walk along the same area and footpath.. She will be cold and hungry so hoping that the box we set up with a familiar towel blanket and some food will encourage her to show herself. Dixie likes other dogs and is very food orientated.. Please keep an eye out for her and keep putting up posters and sharing her doglost page .. Dixie I really hope you come home soon as at 14 and with needing daily medication for her Cushing's she too old a lady to be off gallivanting xLast edited: 2014-06-28 13:01:15 by snoopdog

- Mollychops please I have just spoken to Jo and I am taking my dogs over there this morning to walk the footpath. Jo wants to print off posters but can't amend the numbers I have both their mobiles and landline please can the poster be amended..? 01367 860247 Jo's mob is 07767204627 and Giles mob is 07771596516 can we get the poster updated ASAP I have tried calling the doglost HO number but is going straight to answer phone ... Dixie is a hungry dog due to her condition so is always looking for food she has Cushing's syndrome.:( I have suggested to Jo that she sets up a feed station and to take the contents of her Hoover out and scatter it near to where she went missing.. I have also suggested maybe setting up a box with some familiar clothing or blankets that smell like home and to trace the walk back with jack their other dog.. It's not far from home at all but as she may have got confused or gone into the stream and then followed it down and went paddling in the river so been taken slightly out of a familiar area. Can anyone help put up posters once they are amended as she has now been missing since Wednesday so is probably confused hungry and just not able to find home...? Any volunteers able to follow and walk up or downstream too would be really helpful she can't have gone far..? Thanks mollychops in advance for changing the numbers I will give an update after I have been down there xLast edited: 2014-06-28 09:36:39 by snoopdog
