I don’t do Facebook, but I did manage to see the picture. It certainly has a look of Tinker. I wonder if there are any more pictures of the little dog showing the sides? Tinker had very distinct markings on her sides, both different. Is there anyway we can find out? Thank you so much.

I can’t believe it’s now 9 years without my girls. I still search every day, but I know the chance of me getting them home is fading.
They are both getting older. I just hope they have been looked after and not suffered any neglect or worse.

Hi Viv B no news as yet, I’ve contacted them, so have another 2 people that I know of. I’m going to try the phone number I’ve just got too.

I have also contacted South Wales police about all the dogs recovered a couple of days ago. I have sent them details of both girls and two pictures of each of them. I have got a reply from them so now it’s just a waiting game again!

The dog on the now removed facebook link is a 2 year old male so not Tinker unfortunately so the hunt goes on. Elaine is aware.

Hi Elaine. There is an ex police detective called Colin Butcher who now works as a Pet Detective. He lives in Surrey but is willing to travel all over the UK. He was involved with animals too, when in the police force. He owns a dog called Molly who is very focused on trying to find lost/stolen pets. Colin, and co, have been able to reunite stolen dogs. (Molly is the only dog in the UK to "sniff out" lost cats too. In two years she has "Sniffed out" 90 cats too ) As a professional pet detective not sure of the cost, but he is willing to give advice over the phone, Here are the contact details. 47 months ago today, my world changed. Some one stole my two girls.

This unfortunately is the final update on this little one ☹️ Sue so very kindly went to Forest Lodge today, this little one had apparently been reunited last weekend. Sue spoke to 3 people who worked there and took along Tinker doglost poster (71081) also some extra pictures I had sent her. They said they were very much alike but couldn't tell totally as the little dog was no longer with them, however they thought the little one pictured above was a lot younger than Tinker. ( referring to found 123311)

I guess we'll never know.

Thanks Elaine - it's been upsetting me all day. Thinking of you worrying. Why can't they just nip to the kennel, take a few photos of the poor little girl and send them to via whatsapp or email. This is what I said to them. They made comments about it being scared and also when the owner is found there will be kennel costs etc. I assured her that an owner would pay quite happily but why not give people the chance to see if they are in fact the poor dogs owner. Attempting to gain more money as they said the lady who deals with this kind of update etc isn't in till Thursday. I am so very very angry. If I lived nearer would actually go there myself to take pictures and check this one out for you. Keep us posted.

I have just phoned white cross vets and spoke to Hayley, what a lovely person, she said the woman she spoke to at the kennels was very rude to her too!!
Hayley gave me the vets email address, I have now sent Hayley some pictures of Tinker.

I did get a brief email from the kennels, but to be honest not worth the paper it's printed on! If you want a copy of the email, I will happily forward it to you.

Hayley said she will contact the kennels again tomorrow, can't face it tonight now xx

Please see notes I have just put on the found doggies page (Ref. 12331) Made a couple of calls myself as I was so cross. Poor Elaine. She just needs to check this one out but needs help from the kennels not rudeness and lack of empathy. x The dog found is still at Forest Lodge as it seems the person who called on Saturday to say it was their neighbours dog hasn't shown up with the 'neighbour' to go and give proof (photos etc) of ownership,

Elaine, Tinker is stolen and well before microchipping was compulsory. I hope you have been in touch with CJ and the police for help. It seems very strange that the found dog isn't microchipped, hardly a responsible current 'owner'. The warden in the area may also be able to help. Too right not to give up on this, in case it is your Tinker. If this dog has gone back to her 'owner' did the vets microchip her, if so they will have an address and what proof did they have of ownership. I can understand why you are so annoyed.

I have to say. "I AM SOOO MAD"!
I phoned forest lodge kennels about this little one. The woman I had the misfortune to speak to was so RUDE! Not only did she tell me that it couldn't be my dog as it wasn't microchipped, I told her neither were mine, she then told me it was far too young to be mine, I said " I wasn't happy with that and asked for photos" ( I sent pictures of Tinker last night, which they hadn't even bothered to look at)!
She then told me that the neighbour of the dogs owner contacted them on Saturday??????

I am NOT giving up on this xxxx

OMG I am so pleased Kizzy is home, I have followed her from the beginning.

I had a reply back today from the dog warden, saying they don't think?! It's Tinker as the colouring is slightly different! I have replied to them asking for pictures of the dog as its 3 years and Tinker could look quite different. I have also sent the girls crime ref number. I am going to send all the info to CJ at doglost.

I have had a call back from the council. The little dog hasn't been claimed yet.

I gave them all the information on Tinker, doglost ID and crime reference number. The little dog was microchipped after the date my girls were stolen!

I am in touch with admin at doglost, who again have been wonderful.

I have phoned the council where the dog was taken, the woman I spoke to seems to think the dog was claimed. However, I am trying to find out when the little dog was chipped, as if it was later than June 17th 2014 it could still be Tinker.

God, I feel so nervous, this could really be her. I have contacted admin to see if they can help in any way.

It seems that it is with someone called Paddy Connolly and it was found at Aintree.
Other comments about the warden having picked it up, another referring to this dog as a "HE" and others saying a home has already been lined up :(
Maybe a phone call to that number tomorrow asking which warden and which sex etc?

That's disappointing Elaine. Surely they could include a segment on long term missing/stolen dogs. Doesn't really seem right only making a documentary where all the dogs are back home.

Just to update, I sent an email last night to lostandfoundhattrick.com

I have received an email back from them, to say they are doing stories on people whose dogs have only been missing a couple of weeks or so, and have returned home :(

They did say they would keep the information I sent them, and if they do another story of missing dogs etc I may be contacted.

But, at least it was worth a try xxxx

Esther I hope you are right, it all just seemed so urgent, the photographer rung me Friday late morning and was really keen to get the photos taken.

Just feel disappointed, it may not make any difference, but THAT one person may just have read the paper today and have missed the chance for my girls to be recognised :(

Have just read on Hemp's page (Lost 71080)that you'll keep us updated re when the article in the Mail on Sunday will appear as Nancy was currently unsure. As you know, I'm hoping for next weekend because it is a Bank Holiday :)

Did you notice that the male terrier cross involved in an RTA today has a star on his chest like your Hemp? Can't be many marked with a star like that. It is that star I look for when I'm looking for Hemp. Little Tinker (above) is harder to match because I'm always wondering if someone might have trimmed her and what she might look like if they did. But with 83 followers on this page alone one of us should spot her -trimmed or not :)

Unfortunately there was NO article in the paper about Dog theft at all.

All we can think of is that the photographer didn't get the pictures to them early enough. He didn't leave my house until 6.20pm and he had over an hours drive to get them back.

I will phone the paper in the morning to find out what happened.

I have seen the little dog you are talking about. I have re-registered both my girls on petslocated.com (that's the only way to be able to get any info)!
I have filled the form in to contact the finder, I'm just waiting for a reply, I can't believe how much like Tinker she is.
They say she is around 2 years old, but I don't think that means anything.

I sent them an email with different pictures of Tinker as well as some of Hemp!

I received an email back saying the markings were different, so not Tinker, I still can't stop thinking about her though.

Hi Elaine can you check out strayaid website - female terrier Du107915 found Ferryhill - looks like it has been recently shaved - can't see the side markings however due to the angle at which the photo has been taken

Toby was 9 years old, I had his mum Sheba who I lost a few months ago, I also have his sister Megan. Toby was the runt of the litter ( that's why I kept him ) he turned out to be a gentle giant right to the end. He was in my arms when he died.

I am really struggling with it all at the moment, he was such a huge character and I miss him so much.

He loved Tinker and Hemp so much, I know they will miss him too where ever they are. xxxx

Bobble managed to get through on the telephone after several hours of trying (Thank you Bobble) they wouldn't give her any information as it's not her dog.

Elaine if you google molly the jack Russell terrier you should get to the Sunderland Echo which has the full story and details of the policewoman who found her. At least if you have a name and the police station you could make contact - it says dogs found in Leamington Warwickshire not Wakefield.

I'm hopeless on this machine but have stumbled across a story about a little Jack Russell that was stolen 7 yrs ago and was found along with "a lot of other dogs." The Wakefield police raided a travellers site and the Jack Russell was chipped and highlighted as stolen from 100 miles away. Sorry I can't do clever things but apparently it was in the Wakefield express 30/7 and the dogs name is Molly, now reunited with her owners. Posting from Essex just in case you were unaware. EDIT Molly went missing from Houghton Tyne and Wear. I've just googled " molly jrt found in wakefield " and numerous reports came up, seems that it happened a week ago.

Fosterer has agreed to ring doglost and I am more than happy to act as a go between ...We must all remember that new owner has done nothing wrong and has legally taken on this rescue dog and has obviously bonded with the dog..we just need to establish if this dog could be Tinker...or not..and for that to happen we must all stay calm...will update when more is known.

i have just had a phone call from Jean from Waterfall kennels. She has managed to speak to the foster carer from Stokesley, unfortunately she has rehomed this little dog.
The foster carer is ringing me tonight so we can establish wether or not this little dog is or isn't Tinker.

There is face book page called 'totally stokesley', over 2000 followers, might be worth seeing if they can put out an appeal to see if anyone knows anyone who fosters dogs from waterfall kennels. An appeal for information who has someone who has recently fostered a little black and white dog and explain Tinker's story and ask to them to make contact.

It's the rescue runaround once again.....but We have to keep faith that these kennels will get back quickly so you can see this dog....why give me the runaround beggars belief but I stay positive for you ....afterall it is one less dog to rehome if this is Tinker! bloody frustrating is the only words that come to mind!
I have finally got through to waterfall kennels, and was lucky enough to speak to Jean. They were waiting for the manager to bring the papers in for this little one, they have now arrived! But, there's always a but!......
She had 10 customers waiting so as soon as she gets the chance she will go through the paperwork.

However!! The mobile number she has a as a contact is the works mobile of this person who works gpfor the council who don't work weekends!!!!

So........... I may have to wait until Monday Arrrrrrhh.

Someone has passed this dog onto this lady so someone knows something. I imagine by now you have tried the kennels again, did you manage to speak to Jean the helpful lady? Do you know if this dog was first with the dog warden in that area if so they have to know the movements of this dog. Frustrating that it is now the weekend as I imagine the council offices are shut! Please let me know if there is anything I can do, will be popping out again soon but not for long x

So frustrated! I have driven to get mobile reception, got voice mail from foster carer. She actually doesn't have the little dog, it is currently in Stokesley with a lady but she doesn't have the name or address, so, it's now back to Waterfall kennels!!!!!!!

Stokesley is literally 29 miles from me and only 3 miles from my parents.

Will I ever get to see this little one, I'm sure I will be bald by the end of the day!!

OMG!! I have finally got through to waterfall kennels and spoken to Jean ( very helpful lady ) the woman's name who has the dog is called Jane Galliford she runs the Maxis mates FB. I have given Sohiesuds real name and Hazel's name she is going to accept you on the FB.

Jean is currently ringing Hambleton District council to get a message to this foster carer and get her to contact me.

I have given my home number, mobile number and email address.

She said it maybe tomorrow when she contacts me, so another sleepless night!

I was looking online for anything I could find out about a found dog on the 25 June 2015 and came across the Gazette live website and an article on that day they had put about two men being arrested after 55 dogs and 11 horses seized. Due to condition of this dog when found wondered if the dog had come from there as it says 30 dogs and 25 puppies. Article is by a Toni Guillot. Have just added a comment to the post on the Facebook page as noticed it didn't say 2014 and wanted people reading it be aware that their coats may look different now, hope no one minded. (I use my husbands Facebook as do not have one of my own)

I also read last night that around the time this dog was found, the police did a raid nearby and 30 dogs and 25 puppies were siezed, I wondered if this dog was connected to that. Elaine's police friend would be able to help with finding that out and about the other dogs found! X

Data protection act will be why he won't give you fosters details, he needs their permission to pass on sensitive personal information...keep trying him by phone or get someone to go back and stand next to him while he calls fostered and asks if he can pass their details on to you. Elaine, sure you know this but once you have emailed follow up with a phone call to make sure if he has got the email, and that he has done something with it. Also, if it is waterfall kennels there is a charity called maxis mates who help there. They have a facebook group with over 7000 members. Might be worth joining it and posting tinkers details on there.....someone may know where the dog went.

So, just an update on the private message I received from Sophiesuds.
A little dog that is Tinkers double was dumped just outside Middlesbrough, she had seen it on FB. I contacted Middlesbrough dog warden this morning to see where this little one had been taken to.

Kennels in Guisborough. I finally got through to them at 2.25 this afternoon.

The little dog had been with them but had now moved on to a rescue place, private from what I can gather.
They weren't allowed to give me the details????!!!!!

However, he did give me his personal email address, I have sent poster and pictures of both girls along with their doglost ID's.
He is going to pass this onto the person who currently have this little one (apparently in quite a bad way, very thin, matted fur etc)

So, waiting game again. I think it will be at least tomorrow when I hear anymore?

I will keep posting on here to keep you updated.

She was missing for 14 months and no sightings at all despite the owners working very hard like you to raise awareness. Then out of the blue the call came. It may just be the position but my first thought was tinker, clipped a bit? I looked on her page and it say not chipped, so taken to Margaret Green (Dorset I think) its a rescue. Though she does say 'he' was taken there.

Found, now reunited 81794 unfortunately, this wasn't Tinker, the little ones owner was in hospital, neighbours were looking after the little dog when she went missing, they did not report her missing, so not sure how they knew she had been found.

I have had an email about the little dog 81794 this morning. They are taking more photos and going to email them to me. They said the little dog is very nervous which Tinker is, they haven't had chance to check for the c section scar as little dog too nervous, will keep you updated on here xx

I have phoned about the little dog this morning. I have sent a copy of my poster along with different pictures of Tinker. I know some markings are different, but after reading Lexi's story, this little one could have been dyed too. They did tell me the little dog has lost an eye. It doesn't bare thinking about how that happened all I know is, if it is Tinker I will love her and look after her. As soon as I hear anything, I will post on here. Fingers crossed xx

finally got a call from Gary Palmer RSPCA officer today. He was very nice and was as helpful as he could be. He has watched my YouTube video. I am now waiting for his manager to ring me, regarding the raid on the puppy farm in Darlington. He has given me the name of a person in the RSPCA legal team, so that is my next move. I also sent an email to our MP, hopefully this will get things moving.

I have spoken to the RSPCA head quarters today, as I am still waiting to hear about the dogs recovered from the raid on the puppy farm in Darlington last week. I was told of another website that all RSPCA officers use. petslocated.com you do have to pay. I have registered Tinker and Hemp. As it is a national database so who knows x

Elaine, you are not the person who has done anything wrong, it's the horrible world we live in these days where others feel they can steal whatever they want. If they hadn't taken them when they were outside who is to say they wouldn't have broken in when you went out anytime. If people want things they get them come hell or high water these days! But with dedication like yours you will be rewarded for your efforts, maybe soon maybe later but you will!
There was a message on Sangreat kennels facebook saying about a van who a lady caught stealing her dogs, but of course it had false plates so no use, but it seems to be happening more and more. Hugs.

Can you have a look at Molly at Phoenix dog rescue, it says she was from Romania but ended up in rescue as foster had problems. Maybe that was a cover story, looks very similar to Tinker to me but of course you'd know better.

Hi Elaine, can you check dogs trust website for a terrier cross who looks similar to tinker, but has shorter hair, so maybe after a trim, she's the right age group and only recently been put on she's called penny.

I am really disappointed at the RSPCA press statement on the page of the 75 found dogs from the traveller site. I don't think they realise how many people are desparately searching for their lost/stolen dogs. Surely all they need to do is put photos of the adult dogs on the site, that way we could all see for ourselves, not knowing is the worst thing.

Hi Elaine, can you check out a dog called Anna dog no 6 on a site called second chance rescue kennels in Derby as it looks similar to tinkers face but her hair not as long, also dirty so hard to tell. I think you need to start talking to your local radio about lack of police response and dog theft increase maybe then the police will respond. Good luck

Hi Elaine, have been looking on three counties dog rescue site lincs, there's a black and white jack Russell called star. Hard to tell from the photo but has right shape tail and some markings similar to Tinker, just wondered if it's worth checking out as maybe here with her cost clipped.nsays she came in with other dog but they maybe done by surrenderer to cover themselves. Please check it out anyway, lots of photos of her if you click on original.

I have phoned the animal wardens about both the dogs found in the last couple of days. The one from whitstable was reunited with its owner yesterday the other one escaped. The dog wardens were very helpful and took my details, name address my girls descriptions and their doglost ID numbers. I also emailed them the link to my YouTube video x

Went to do my usual weekly shop in Morrisons. Dogs Trust had a stall there asking for sponsors for dogs. I told them about my two missing girls. They took some posters from me and the link to the YouTube video. Very helpful, said they would contact all the Dogs Trust kennels and give them the link to my YouTube video. There are some nice people in this world. X

Hi sophiesuds. Thank you. We have never had Tinker clipped, we just brush her and it comes out thinner. Yes she could be mistaken for a shitzu. Hope the new picture of her helps. Just a thought but have you got any photos of Tinker if she has been clipped as it makes a big difference to how they look when they aren't shaggy as if she is ever up for sale she wouldn't look like her lovely photo that we are used to. Just an idea. Other than a terrier cross do you think she could be mistaken for a Shihtzu or any other breed to the less educated.

THIS DOG IS ON LOST DOGS SCOTLAND PLEASE CHECK XXX
This dog has been wondering around Boreland Road / Steading, Cleish, Kinross since early this morning. It has no collar and we cannot catch it.

I have reported it to the police who will not come and catch unless it is a hazard on the road. Nor will the SSPCA unless it is distressed. If it is still here on Monday I will contact the local dog warden who I understand will come and collect a stray dog.

We know all the game keepers and farmers round here everyone has been out looking still no sightings. It will be 7 weeks tomorrow since they disappeared without trace.

I am glad to know you have done all that. But I still would not rule out a hunting trip in which maybe they went further than usual into unfamiliar territory. These things can happen, even with dogs who normally return when called. We have known this occur a few times with dogs on this site. But since you have got the area very well covered, if they are running loose you may get a sighting reported at some point.

Yes there is a lot of farmland around us. We have 3 German Shepherds which we have taken round all areas. Also contacted all farmers,game keepers and all surrounding areas. RSPCA within a 50 mile radius and ALL vets, the girls have ALWAYS come back when we call them. There is a poster in every shop and every notice board. Been in All newspapers within 100 mile radius.

Bobble asked me to take a look at these girls' pages, and I have been looking at the satellite map. Unfortunately your immediate neighbourhood looks like an adventure playground for terriers. It has everything! Including woods, fields, heathland and what looks like some kind of quarry? From my experience of missing terriers, especially when there are 2 missing, there is a very good chance that they stayed out one pleasant night and have been enjoying the marvellous weather ever since. They would be hunting early and late when the rabbits and small rodents are most active, unseen by people. I see you have enough streams round there for them always to have water. I assume that every farm around you has their details?
