Maybe he got a faint scent of a human who smelled (only to a canine nose of course) of weimaraner and followed her trail?

Well done Shankly for chewing through your rope! Isn't it amazing that instinct drew him to walk into the same Supermarket where Weimaraner rescue person worked! What Supermarket was it? Maybe he recognised the Logo and there is a supermarket similar near him down in Streatham and he thought he was still in that area? I guess we will never know-but a happy ending and Shankly is back where he belongs!!!! Made my day to read this!

Yes Wiemaraner rescue we will inform you of other weimaraners missing or found-an easy way to check is to use the new search facility on L.H.S and just put the breed in and all lost,found, and reunited will come up. A big well done to you Guys!

How amazing after 4 1/2 months to escape and walk into a supermarket in Pontefract and be reunited with owners from London-The power of the internet! good on the Lady and good on doglost!!

Owners leapt on the first train up to Pontefract and are now reunited with Shankly!!! They are on their way back to London now. Shankly is very traumatised and has been bashed around a bit on his nose-luckily the dog chewed through its rope and escaped! The amazing thing is that he walked into the supermarket where a Wiemeraner rescue lady worked ! Of course she knew all the right things to do and she got in touch with us and looked on site,saw Shankly and was convinced it was the same dog so rang us for mobile number of the couple and the rest is history! Well done Weimeraner rescue!!!!

Possible match with found dog from Pontefract-Weimaraner rescue is contacting owners and will post a photo of found dog soon.
