- Bill, I am glad you have not given up hope as we certainly haven't given up either. My thoughts are with you and with Fleur always. We are still on the lookout and so are helpers in the area she went missing and in other parts of the country as well.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Desperately sorry that you have had no news. Did you try getting some publicity from Crystal Palace F.C. they have a newspaper as well as the match programme. Just bombard every email address vets, pet shops, supermarkets, anyone else you can think of with a poster (again 'cos I 'spect you already have done so once) Praying you will get news soon, very best wishes, Jan Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Two months have now elapsed since little Fleur went missing, despite the passage of time her loss is still unbearable. I ahve not given up hope of finding her. Someone, somewhere knows where she is! It's hard to understand why they can't just call to say she is OKLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- My sister had a Shih Tsu, a nervous little thing but always wandering off following her nose. I looked after her for a week and took her for a walk once with my two to a park, let them off the lead for a run but it took me about half an hour to catch her to get her back on the lead, had to coax her with my jack russell, little mare she was. I can't imagine that Fleur would be caught very easily if she is nervous. Loads of food stuff and interesting smells by a rail track. Is it possible that she is living along the rail track following her nose, bless her? I live near the rail track and am looking out for her but not that close to East Croydon. It might be an idea to poster all along as far as possible. Just a thought.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Are there any other local papers ? Freebie ones ? Have you got posters outside the Football ground at Crystal Palace, maybe not the breed of dog most associated with football fans, but I used to go to Palace games with my brother when I lived in the area and a reward may well be attractive to younger fans. Wonder if you could get an advert/picture in the match programme ? May well be possible if you are prepared to pay...Thinking of you both .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thanks Jan, I did try and get the story in the Croydon Advertiser but they had already run several recent articles about dog napping etc so declined to run an article on Fleur. This week I emailed the New Paul O'Grady televison show to ask them to broadcast Fleur disappearance but sadly got no response. I'm still hoping she will come back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- So sorry you have had no news yet, Have you managed to get any coverage in the local press ? As a news story rather than an advert ? It is such a dramatic happening, with the fight on the station, puppy terrified by all the noise, slips her harness, takes off up the tracks and just disappears...... nothing to lose by trying to get the story in the Croydon Advertiser (or suchlike) Very best wishes to you both, praying you will get some good news.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Regret we have had no further news regarding Fleur. It's been almost a month now. It's still very difficult to come to terms with what happended but we still hope against hope she will return. Everyone has been so resourceful and helpful surely someone will eventually come forward. A big thank you to all who have put up the posters etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Just able to catch up here. Well done Jan. I hope there is a sighting soon of her. Owls right, there are still caring people who love animals and don't think about the frantic owners out searching. Sorry not to be of much help lately due to home problems. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- If anyone local can help Fleur's owner with a leaflet drop in the area she went missing from, please make contact, thanks. It's surprising the number of people especially senior citizens who stay quietly at home, don't buy the paper and never go anywhere much, and also a lot of people don't report a dog they have taken in as they fear it will be put to sleep if the owner isnt found. We need to reach people like that for this particular dog.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Dissappointed not to see any reports of sightings yet. Did you manage to get posters in and around the Mayday ? So many local people work there, I know you put adverts in the local paper but in my most recent experience of that Hospital (sister in law was in there) very few of the staff spoke any English, so it's likely that they don't ever look at the local press, hopefully a poster would catch their eye. I expect you have smothered the shopping area, so, so hoping you will get some good news very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Sorry to say the shih tzu wandering about in Sutton isn't Fleur. I dashed over there soon as I saw the message. Stopped in Norman Rd and by amazing coincidence the first person I brandished a poster at was the man who saw the dog loose in the road this morning ! He looked at the picture said "it looked just like that " heart leapt ! then said " I managed to get hold of its collar but couldn't manage to read the disc on it" heart sank 'cos I knew she wasn't wearing a collar. Still undaunted knocked on several doors (no answer) put up poster at West Sutton station and as I walked back to my car observed small Shih Tzu just wandering about all alone. Managed to stroke it and read that the collar said Barney, then along came Fleurs owners. Immediately realised they were not going to be re-united with their girl at this time, but very kindly (and bravely 'cos Barney got a bit stroppy) managed to get the number off his collar and ring the owner, who said he must have escaped out of the garden while she was at work. We kept him 'cornered' until she arrived to pick him up. Put a poster up at Cheam station on my way back home. Bill and partner (sorry in all the emotion I didn't catch your name) it was lovely to meet you both. I know you are pretty sure that Fleur has been adopted by someone, and I am sure they will love her very much, but don't give up on the posters yet, if someone has got her seeing how much she is missed and loved might just test their conscience or the reward may seem like a tempting idea. - London Borough of Sutton Animal Warden here. Had a call about 11.30 this morning about a Shih Tzu lying in Gander Green Lane at the junction of Norman Road which is by Sutton West Station. Visited area but dog not found. Dog was alive but growled at person who initially tried to help. Unfortunately, the caller did not leave any details. Owner advised of possible sighting. Checked with nearest vets but no dog has been taken inLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Shih tzus are dogs which hide rather than run, so if anyone sees her they should NOT try to catch her but call owner to vicinity at once or ring Doglost. She won't go far as long as no one frightens her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Fleur disapperaed going in the direction of South Croydon, despite searching all afternoon at South Croydon St. and along the tracks via an overgrown footpath as close as I could get! - I found nothing. Being a Sunday there were no track maintainence staff to walk the tracks but drivers were alerted and station staff travelled up and down the line but found nothing. Everyone was very helpful. We can only assume she scampered up one of the steep grass embankments and escaped through fencing into the surrounding gardens and roads etc. My newspaper ads etc have resulted in no reports of sightings so far.-this is a message from owner. - Ok there are quite a few stations you will need to do, but Dee is right the people you want are contractors. I will speak to my OH's dad - he works for south central trains so will speak to him and ask him to ask his drivers. His depot is Selhurst which is I think the 2nd or 3rd station out of East Croydon, do we have any idea which way she went?? I will put one up in the station down my road but unfortunately I don't work in Croydon anymore so i'm unable to get one up at South Croydon station, so if someone could do that one aswell. Also alot of the tracks back onto houses, maybe the owners could knock on the doors incase she has been found in one of there gardens??? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Bill - go to each individual station on the route each way and ask them if their drivers saw anything. Also speak to the guards and railtrack again and see if you can contact their contractors for the rail repairs - you need to know where there are holes in the fence Fleur can get out. If there are none i'd think she'll be hiding in a bush trackside, scared of the noise. The contractors are the guys you need - you'll have to whine whinge and moan to get their details but keep at it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- OMG an owner's worst nightmare! Who has spoken to the railway authorities and are they being helpful? We need some helpers on the ground here but they have to be really organised and sensible. Do we know if Fleur has definitely left the tracks? What are the embankments like, do they have cover, bushes etc or not? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
