Thank you Max & Lesley for your help, Sméagol is back home, got in and found an old bit of soft toy and been badgering me for the rest of the day. Hard to spin with a dog on the treadles!! Don't know if he will have learnt his lesson, he just lives for the moment, bless him.

I have just spoken to the owner and Smeagol is home. Apparently someone kept him over the weekend and the dog warden collected him yesterday.Hope he's learnt his lesson this time.
