Well done Susan for taking this little one one, even though you had three already. I do believe the dog always chooses us, not the other way around! x
Jaycey
This lucky little girl couldn't have been re homed with anyone better than Susan..She's been fantastic looking after her and many attempts to try and find original owner..I'd love to know what she has named her.....Have a happy life little sweetheart ♥ xx
Goldenfrodo
This little one has been rehomed with her finder. Good luck to you both xxx
valpark
Well done Sarah for all you have done for this poor lost soul. She loves you so much and it would tear her apart to go anywhere else.xx Good thing she is small!!
charlie
Well good luck to you and hope things work out, I think she's decided your her mum and she's staying.
Susan
I have taken her to many tears to read her chip put posters up phoned groomers that when a woman came forward saying she had a dog called that but gave her away 4 yrs ago to someone no answer from the phone number on her chip still going to answer phone message my vet says so I've done all I can so she stays here with me as I can't rehomed her I can't even give her to someone to hold for me for 5 mins as she shakes & screams the place down for me so it looks like I now have 4 dogs NOT that I wanted 4 but things never work out as planned lol
charlie
If she's lost? Could you print posters as found with your contact details and go through phone book/internet for dog groomers and post to them to see if they recognise or may know owner. Having these dogs myself their groomed every 2-3 mths if she was looked after a groomer will know her.Maybe for security reasons leave off a detail as I can't figure out how anyone would know if they are genuine owner of a dog or not if no one will give finder details.I'm so glad that she's ended up with someone so caring but without help how long would a finder of a pet be expected to look after so it wasn't in kennels. Many tears rescue centre are in Wales could they help you find owner as they got home checkers all over. Worth ringing.Last edited: 2014-08-20 18:35:54 by charlie
valpark
I agree..she probably belonged to an elderly person. If the owner died and they lived on their own it could be that the dog was dumped due to her rather demanding nature.I would not imagine that this dog run away, especially as it was lifted over a brick wall!! Such a shame.I admire you and your dedication.xx
Susan
I've tried every thing but unless someone goes to the house then I don't no what else to do she is not any normal stray she is a spoilt Madame who is used to being cuddled up watching TV on the settee with someone & was over weight when she came is used to being groomed & having her ears clean & is used to being fussed this just don't make any sense how can someone that appears to be so loved but nobody is looking for her still feel she belongs to someone who is older feeling really lost about what I should do next :(
charlie
I keep checking to see if her owners been found, but I can't believe it all, can vets not send a letter to the microchip address or even the actual microchip company. If I lost one of mine I'd expect them to be doing everything possible. I'm sure we all would. It's nice to know that she's being looked after so well.
Susan
No news clairylou it's been 4weeks today & nothing trouble is as no one will say where she is registered to then I can't go ask the neighbours if someone has passed away or in hospital I can not believe that a dog so clearly spoilt is not being missed by someone as to where she goes now my kids all think she should stay here & I am getting very attached to her but I'm not sure this is the right house for her as I have 3 boys & she seems to want my attention often crying to be picked up & cuddled plus my 1yr old jet is constantly nagging her to play with him he won't leave her alone for a. Minute leading to her snapping at him when she has had enough playing & wants to sleep she is as good as gold but I still think she would like to be with an older quieter house but we will play it by ear she will stay here unless I think this is the wrong place for her & maybe when my boy gets done next week he will leave her alone more lol x
Clairylou
Any news Susan? x will you keep her if no owners are found? x can't believe someone isn't looking for her :-( x maizie is doing well x
Susan
No she is not flora as flora has some black on her ears this one is all cream with a bit of gold on ends of ears & feet
charlie
Could she be flora that was seen being picked up by a lady in bristol after she went missing. I know diff area but as we all know they can end up anywhere. Flora number 59927Last edited: 2014-07-30 20:02:57 by charlie
Susan
Hi dilly dax yes I did think maybe her chip is old & if she has been reformed maybe they are not looking for a Lhasa but nobody seems to be looking for a small white dog either x
Dilly Dax
Susan you are amazing. You have done a wonderful job with this little one. Just a thought, but she does look similar to a Dandie Dinmont. If the microchip details are ancient, and she has been rehomed at some point, could someone be missing a Dandie and not a Lhasa?
valpark
She looks wonderful Susan. You have looked after her so well. She looks a real character. She is so cute.Still have this thought that she belonged to an elderly lady.I feel for the owner, she must be missed.Lucky you are there for her!!xx
Baydogs
LOL Susan, perhaps a kind mod will turn her the right way up. I had to hang over my screen to see her.

I'm so pleased her ears are improving. She must feel much happier without that constant itching and pain. Sometimes the red tape is not in the dog's best interest. Anyway, I'm glad they saw sense and gave permission to have her treated.

You've done wonders for this little girl, out of your own pocket too, and looked after her as your own. You really have been her guardian angel.

I do hope that her owner can be traced. As you know, I wonder if perhaps they might be ill/in hospital. Or maybe she was stolen and dumped. I just can't imagine that a loving little dog like that is not being missed.

I have my fingers crossed for good news soon xx
Susan
Put up a new picture of her don't no why it's upside down still no news on her yet x
Susan
No not yet still searching she has been to the vets as she was in pain from bad ears was scratching them crying & shaking her head poor baby took hours to get thru to the dog warden as I didn't own her I didn't have the authority to have her treated but she is happy now & the wash & drops seem to be doing the trick x
valpark
Any news ?.If so hope it is good!!x
Susan
Thanks everyone & Baydogs yes more night on my bed she is getting really clingy on the way back from the centre I left her in the car with my partner & kids she screamed for me so loud I could hear her from the shop & follows me every where poor baby must be so confused she won't let me out of her site with out her having a complete melt down my poor kids were nearly deaf with the amount of screaming she did until I got back into the car :) Last edited: 2014-07-19 21:07:32 by Susan
valpark
Thank you so much Susan for taking care of this little dog.xxx
Angel
I can only repeat, fingers crossed and well done Susan for all you're doing for this little dog. God forbid my boy should ever get lost, but if he did, I hope he would be found by someone like you! x
Baydogs
Fingers crossed here too Susan! I wonder what her story is. Only time will tell!

Well done for all your efforts so far in locating her owner and taking such good care of this girl whilst you wait for that good news. Looks like a few more nights of sharing your bed until then lol.

Whatever happened to her she seems to be a resilient little miss doesn't she.

Susan
Update finally feel we r getting some where took her to the rescue centre they checked her chip & phoned the number same as my vet ,but they are writing to the address & are going to send a foster carer around to see if the people are on holiday so hopefully this will have a happy ending well fingers crossed that the info on her chip is up to date god only knows how she got from that area to where she was found xLast edited: 2014-07-19 14:44:45 by Susan
Susan
We have asked every where my mum
Ives no one has even seen her most people go into the post office & they haven't heard of a missing dog phoned dog warden & all local rescues in Swansea so they all no where she is but no one has phoned about her when she first saw my 2 youngest dogs she treated them nicely but when she saw my yorkie she went nuts& started trying to play with him (he is 13&dont play ) & likes to be on his bed quiet but every time she see him she goes mad so I wouldn't be surprised if she lives with a yorkie . She has had pups in the past as her teats are long the lump is either a hernia or a tumour she walks nicely on her lead & her nails look as if they have been cut as there square I'm going to ask in a area a little bit away from where she was found as she is a sprit ly little thing so could have gone the 3miles from there to penlan but still wondering who put her over the walled in back yard maybe kids messing about ? I will keep you posted thanks sue x
Baydogs
Susan, I can't imagine that her owners won't want her back by the way she is behaving.

I can understand your frustration regarding data protection. Though this has to be respected, having an idea of where she is registered may help you locate her owner. But it may end up being a red herring if she has been rehomed somewhere else and her details haven't been updated. I certainly wouldn't rule out that she lives somewhere in your area.

Does she look lke she had pups at any time? Could the lump on her tummy be scar tissue from a C section?

Her behaviour indicates that she is very much a companion dog now, maybe to an older person. Certainly someone who gives her lots of time and attention. As has been suggested, maybe they don't have internet access. Without that, they would report her to the police, wardens, all the vets in the area and rescue homes, announce her on local radio, maybe put an advertisement in the local paper. The way she has behaved with your own three Susan, suggests that she is well socialised - or has been in the past.

Valpark, yes, sometimes a dog escapes when someone dies, or when they fall ill and the paramedics are called. Its a possibility. So is escaping from someone's car. So is being stolen and dumped.

Thank goodness she turned up in that walled garden and met you Susan.
This girlie is smart but I wish she was smart enough to talk! x

I was writing the above as you were posting Susan :) I've also been scouring the internet for some news of her- to no avail.

Is there a park home site near your mum's place. Or other retired peopl's accomodation? A day care centre where someone might recognise her?Last edited: 2014-07-19 09:35:40 by Baydogs
Susan
She is going to a rescue centre today to have her chip read so hopefully I will no the area to target if I new her owners didn't want her then fine but she has been so spoilt that I worry that she belongs to an old person who doesn't no any thing about computers & are only looking for her in their area someone loved this little girl a lot I can see from the way she acts . She is not on any site I can find I've been on them all spent hrs going thru pets4homes ,gumtree, freeadds incase she was up for re homing on there as her owner had died which could explain why she is in Swansea but nothing no sign of her on any sites still no answer from the phone number on her chip maybe they are on holiday ? Ior changed their number & haven't updated her chip I'm at a loss that a dog who has been so spoilt is not being looked for by someone so I'm just hoping it's an old person with no computer & she has been taken from her area then dumped later on so when I find out her area I will put posters their maybe someone will recognise her or no of an old person who has had their dog stolen for ever the optimist me but hopefully I will find them this spending hours on my iPad looking for her owners means my house looks like a bomb has hit it lol xx
valpark
She sounds a right little madam.I hope she knows how lucky she is to be with you.I am sure her owners are distraught.Have you tried a rescue centre to read the chip, they may help locate owners.RSPCA or Dogs Trust??It is so sad that you are trying so hard to find the owners and have had no help from this vet.A lesser person would have given up, so well done Susan. She must have had wonderful owners to have been so spoilt.Maybe her owner died?? she may have been dumped.xx
Susan
Baydogs I have bought her dog food as I didn't think the owners would like her eating the same as mine (raw fed) but as I've said she is spoilt so every time I go near the fridge she jumps up on her back legs wanting something lol I brushed her yesterday she kept still after I finished she got all excited so she was clearly waiting for a treat ( which I gave her ) my vet has the details off the chip & has phoned the number & left messages but no reply but all my vet will tell me is she is not from Swansea as they say the info is data protected but I want to no where she is from so I can put posters up in that area incase her owners don't have that phone number any more & maybe she has been stolen from there & they are looking for her in that area but my vet won't say what area she is from gggrrrr so I'm having her chip re read by someone else to find out what area she is from I can understand her owners details are data protected but I don't want their detail I just want to no what area she is from so I can phone the dog wardens in that area to see if someone is looking for her!!! so at least I will no I have done every thing to find them so hopefully today I will have a. Better idea of what area she is from to go put up posters . If her owners don't want her then fine I will keep her here until the 28 days or how ever long it takes to find her a wonderful new owner xx & yes she is still sleeping in my bed the little madam xxxxLast edited: 2014-07-19 07:19:02 by Susan
Baydogs
Good luck with that. Hopefully her current owner/s have kept her chip details up to date.

You could also try putting a picture on Facebook's Lostbox in case someone might recognise her.

She looks a well fed girl from her pictures. Does she show a preference for anything in particular?

Another night sharing your bed I guess ;)
Susan
I'm having her chip re read tomorrow so I will no what area she is from to put posters incase her owners are old & don't have internet so are unaware of the this going on to find them x I will up date with any news
Baydogs
Clairylou, I hope that you find Maizie soon.
Susan, would the vet reveal if it is a mobile or landline number that he is trying to contact? If its a landline, maybe your Little Miss Lost belongs to someone who is on holiday/visiting relatives in the area and that is why there is no reply.
Any camp sites near your mum's home?
Would local radio announce that you have found her?
Ask at the local pub?
Does your mum's retirement complex have CCTV?
Someone is missing this girl. Her behaviour indicates that she is used to loads of attention.Last edited: 2014-07-18 10:14:12 by Baydogs
Susan
Ah thanks clairylou how I wish this little one was maizie to as I would love to find someone like you who was missing her so much I hope you find your baby soon & if it wasn't so far away I would come help you look for her sending all my best wishes for her safe return to her mummy & that my little one finds her mummy or daddy xxxxx
Clairylou
Huge thanks to Susan for ringing us here in North Yorkshire regarding maizie. However much we wish it were her and the age and the umbilical hernia match our beautiful maizie, sadly this is not her x :-( x I hope this beautiful girl finds her home soon x if her owners are half as worried as us they will be grateful of such a kindhearted lady x

Lost 71956 is a Little girl called Maize x
Susan
They were all out with my mum in the morning & nobody has seen her before I've been to the local post office but no one has mentioned a missing dog there she responds to her name but also when I called her maize so I think she will respond to anything once you call her even if I call my youngest jet she looks at me
Baydogs
Susan, did anyone else in your mum's sheltered accommodation see her? Because it is possible that although the dog is not registered to that area she might have been rehomed to someone there.

How well does she respond to the name the vet gave you for her?
Susan
Yes bay dogs it had poured down all night .my mum had heard a dog all night but as it's impossible for a dog to get out the back didn't think it was coming from there I have phoned mazes number no replay as my vet game me her name off her chip but it's not maize so I've asked if they had always homed her as if they had her later they could have changed her name from that on the chip no reply yet I will keep trying every where to find her owner & will keep you updated thanks
valpark
Had to log in just to say , from one dog lover to another many thanks.Do hope her owners are found soon. She sounds like a much loved dog.Maybe an older woman with no PC.The dog may well have been stolen.fingers crossed anyway and well done Susan.x
Baydogs
Hi Susan. If she is used to lots of cuddles and is a bed companion, she is obviously being very much missed by someone and certainly wouldn't be kept in the state in which you found her - wet and dirty. Was it raining there that night or do you think she became wet some other way?

Better keep the extra privileges secret from your three ;)

Does Maizie resemble the girl you have there? Is she a possible match do you think?

She wouldn't have coped well with being in the pound thats for certain! Hope you hear something soon.Last edited: 2014-07-17 10:13:49 by Baydogs
Susan
Thanks I've looked at that 1 z& asked if they had always owned it as it has a different name from the one on the chip my vet told me .who ever owned her she is spoilt when I went to bed she screamed the place down. I put her in 2 different places still screamed so I took her upstairs she jumped on my bed went fast asleep & stayed in the same place all night my 3 wouldn't be happy if they new that as their not allowed up stairs lol hopefully someone will phone today
Baydogs
Okay, a HUGE longshot but this one went missing from the north east yesterday. She has a hernia. No mention of collar. Ears look darker than in your pictures but?? Maybe with a different cut at the time of the photograph?

Longshot, but worth a look?

Susan
No sorry my mum lives in sheltered accommodation & I live 3miles from my mum my mum phoned me asking what she should do as she had heard a dog crying all night but as it has a wall around the flats she didn't think it could have been coming from there untill she saw her in the morning our local dogs re homing centre is closed on Wednesday so she couldn't get hold of them & phoned me I have 3 dogs but when I went there I couldn't let her go to the pound so took her to my vets so see if she was chipped (she is ) but not from this area so her she is staying until. Find her owner . And thanks I had to take her to the groomers she was very wet & dirty & smelt ( probably normal wet dog smell ) but I'm not used to it ( raw feeder ) she is the most lovely natured dog trying. To get on my lap for a cuddle constantly so fingers crossed the phone message my vet left the people will get in touch about her soon
Susan
She has either a hernia or some sort of lump on her belly she is wearing a black collar

Cute little girl - especially after the wash and brush up you so kindly provided! Susan, your caring for this dog is commendable.Thank you. Should any of mine go missing I hope they find someone like yourself to keep them safe!

The chip could be registered to a previous owner of course and details may not have been kept up to date by the new owner.

Strange how she was found in your mum's walled garden. Do you think that maybe someone thought she had escaped from there and popped her back over? Or do you and your mum have a bit of a reputation for doing kind deeds towards stray/unwanted dogs? ;)

She doesn't have a hernia does by any chance?
