Hiya everyone thankyou all so much. He is home safe and well. Someone picked him up saturday and reported it today. I know their heart was in right place and he as been well looked after. But wish they reported it saturday we have been worried sick and at times thought we would never see him again. People have been out since thursday day and night looking. Just glad they reported and dog warden brought him back this afternoon. The people that picked him up have really looked after him tho which is main thing. Xx

Power of the social media once more yaaay !
Yes, 'Owl' there do seem to be many people out there who just think they are 'doing the right thing' & assuming all pets are 'dumped & unloved' & need caring for - their hearts are in the right place but heart-breaking for the righful owner
Ellie
Very pleased to hear this good news. Welcome home Zak,
Gillian
That's really good news. So pleased he's home safe and sound x
DogLostOwl
Someone had taken him in and intended to keep him, but came forward in response to publicity and handed him in to the dog warden. So many people seem to be unaware that finders keepers is illegal.

There as also been a dog missing in northwingfield so we cant be sure if it was zak now as the other dog is also brown n as big ears like zak :"(
Gillian
That's excellent. Hope they can spot him when they're out and about.
leahfoster
Thankyou so much gillan i got straight through and they have informed all rangers and wardens aswel. Xx
Gillian
Get in touch with the Countryside Centre in Clay Cross. They'll have details of Countryside Wardens. Number is 01629 533020 although I think that's a Matlock number so you may not get through directly to the Centre. But there should be someone who can help and notify rangers if they're not already aware.

I've been sharing him on facebook. Also I finish work tomorrow for 6 weeks so can go searching after then. Hope he's found before then though
leahfoster
How would i get in contact with country rangers. Council have sent emails to everybody and if he does go vets he will go to dog warden rspca and that are all informed.he was seen at 9am yesterday on there. So he could be coming out when its cool. He could be in a bush or anything in day keeping cool xx
HelperHelen - Dog SOS Derbyshire
Forgot to say shared him on Facebook and asked my local dog walking friends to keep an eye outXxx
HelperHelen - Dog SOS Derbyshire
Have you let country rangers know on trail he may be using that to get about also put posters up on trail for dog walkers. I've been out looking this am round North Wingfield and on Alma estate but nothing, he's probably laying low during the day, hope he shows himself soon, been sharing on Facebook, have you tried all local vetsXxx
leahfoster
Yeah i think he as he was walking on the estate. We have been down with food but got nothing yet the dog warden is also out looking in area around aswel x
HelperHelen - Dog SOS Derbyshire
Do you think he's come down the fields at the back of Alma. Sounds like he's hungry perhaps have a barbecue there as Owl suggestedXxx
DogLostOwl
Glad you have sightings so know he is still around your area. He will probably be resting up somewhere and scavenging early and late when it is cooler. Might be worth barbecuing some bacon or sausage in the area he has been seen.
leahfoster
He was spotted twice on alma estate. He was looking for food. Really need him home :"(. We been out all day looking and shouting.
HelperHelen - Dog SOS Derbyshire

Gillian
I'm in clay cross so not far away. Have friends in north wing field so I'll let them know too. Whereabouts did he go missing?
leahfoster
Hi everyone my ad. Still not found :( were in holmewood chesterfield. But he could be anywere :(. Ive looked on spotted and there is a pic of zak as we posted it. Cant see any more pics. Thankyou.
AlisonH
Thank you Gillian. Correct region now added.
Gillian
There is a found dog on Facebook page called Spotted Chesterfield. Can't really tell from the photo there. I think the nose looks shorter and the ears a slightly different colour but it may just be the camera angle so worth checking out.
Gillian
I live just south of chesterfield and we would probably be classed as east Midlands as we are derbyshire. We do have Sheffield post codes though and in fact come under Yorkshire television so it's one of those difficult ones!
HelperHelen - Dog SOS Derbyshire
Can you just check but I think Chesterfield is central, hope he's found soon X
