- Brilliant news! I recieved a lovely text this morning letting me know.
>>> Suzi .. that was so kind of you letting them park there .. and I'm delighted that Poppy 'followed' the classic advice that a dog usually goes back to where it was lost or where it was seen! Veryclever little girlie! I wish I could fit a horsebox into my garden!!
As Poppy has been lost for a few days it's probably wise to give her meals little and often so her tum can get used to it again .. and a trip to the vet as you don't know what water she will have been drinking (oh and hopefully a microchip too)
>>> madrid: Enjoy that celebration drink! You deserve it .. hope you get to meet Poppy and her owners.
Message from Stephwheway: "Please can you put a thank u on your website. I can't believe how incredibly kind so many people we don't know have been!"
I hope we will get a reunited photo. If we do I will add it to the page.
Many thanks and well done to all who helped the family .. a great job! - 2014-08-01 09:31 Sherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
- Fabulous news.....what a clever and brave Poppy for staying close and going back....poor little thing must have been so scared....still the great news is that she is home safe and well and everyone who helped contribute should be pleased with all their efforts....grand job! welcome home Poppy xx

- POPPY HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HER OWNERS!!!!
They parked their horsebox in our garden last night (where we saw her yesterday) and she was sitting by it this morning! Thank you so much to everyone that has helped to look for her, and to DogLost, her owners are very grateful xxx - 2014-08-01 06:47 madrid

- Have just seen a post shared from Stephwheway Fbk saying there has been a sighting of her yesterday .. it says
"We are 99.9% sure that it was Poppy that was spotted earlier today. She was in the gardens next to the top Horsebox field at Hickstead but dashed off before we got there. She disappeared through the hedge and we think back on to Hickstead Lane but we couldn't find her if everyone could keep their eyes open on the way in and out that would be fabulous - she is very scared so probably won't come but if we can narrow down the search area it will help massively! Call 07725085924 with any info"
>>> This means that Poppy may not be on Hickstead showground land any more.
Although she could have returned to the showground the same way she left. Poor little girl must be so scared. If she went up Hickstead Lane she may have gone into Tansy Woods which run along beside the lane.
Well worth putting posters into the Castle Inn up there too.
I believe there is a dog grooming place Twinkle Toes ?? Maybe someone in the area would check with them in case they have heard something or had Poppy handed in.
>>>suzi Thanks for offer to print posters .. that would be a great help as Stephwheway can't do that as no facilities.
>>> Vaughan Thanks for yr info earlier on this page. Any other updates wld be welcome as I'm having difficulties contacting Poppy's owners. Thanks!

- Thanks madrid .. I would do some myself but I have no transport at the mo to come over. Maybe worth asking the Hickstead secretarys in the Office if they could bash out a few .. any would help!
The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead Fbk page has put a post up with link to this Doglost page so many thanks to them.
I hv been tweeting to everyone and anyone on Twitter! #RHIS #Hickstead, showjumping teams, commentator, riders etc. Getting a lot of retweets so hoping the word is getting around.

- Thanks all who have commented and helped share/tweet for Poppy.
>>> Stephwheway .. Hard situation to be in but wld suggest you concentrate on where she would find water and food I think. Also letting people in caravans and tents know as they are there overnight and more likely to see Poppy.
Bear in mind most dogs will come back to the place they were lost from .. perhaps it's too scary for Poppy to come back at the mo with all that's going on .. worth asking the organisers if you could stay an extra night when others have gone home. they are nice peeps so am sure they wld not mind.
Also Poppy is likely to be hiding out in the daytime as so hot .. she may hv found her way to a nice cool space .. like in the place the ground crew keep the spare poles etc/open barns on the showground and outside near the stables. Worth asking the ground crew/maintenance staff as they are more likely to spot her after the crowds have gone if she's around those places.
>>> madrid .. that's very kind of you to search, thanks.
Any chance you would be able to print a few posters to give to owners to put up around showground please??? I'm sure they wld be very grateful.
I think it would be well worth you ringing Poppy's owners to see what the situation is & where they have searched etc. Tel numbers are above..they say they are staying in their horsebox.
Very glad to hear the organisers are announcing Poppy is lost .. they have an excellent press officer there. If you go by the Secretary's box maybe go in and thank them (flattery gets us everywhere!) and ask them to keep announcing it as poor little dog not found yet. Hope you have a good day there. Thanks again for your efforts.

- Searched all around the fields close to the hickstead show ground but no sign of poppy. Plenty of small ponds about so she has access to water. Will cont tomorrow.
- 2014-07-31 16:54 madrid
- Will try and drive around the area tonight if I can. I did hear a tannoy annoucement on tuesday which pricked my ears up as a dog lost helper if the owner can keep these coming it would be great. Stay safe poppy till we find you

- I have shared this info to the All England Showground. HV also tweeted to the Press Officer, Hickstead.
>>> Riverlady could you tweet for Poppy please .. I think this would be a good way to get the word around as loads of people on the showground use Twitter. I hv got the ball rolling by tweeting #Longines #Hickstead and various showjumping teams etc.
The showground itself is massive and I would have thought that Poppy would try to find food and water from the showground itself if she is not too scared to. Try looking and calling for her early hours and dusk when it is quieter.
>>> Ask the people running the show to give you permission to give posters out to everyone .. especially in the horse box parking areas etc where food and water will be readily available.
>>> Please make sure the Dog Wardens in the area are aware in case Poppy is caught and handed in to them.
>>> Ask the organisers of the event to make an announcement over the tannoy so everyone is aware Poppy is missing. Last edited: 2014-07-30 22:07:05 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2014-07-30 21:19 Julie B
- I have messaged a local doglost coordinator on facebook with Poppy's doglost link asking if she is able to offer any advice or knows of anyone local that may be able to help look for her. She has been on my mind all day at work and cant stand the thought of her out there alone and frightened. Stay safe Poppy - if you see someone go to them and let them help you gorgeous girl x

- Poppy is still missing on Wednesday. :( we don't know what to do or where to look anymore but if everyone could just keep sharing and posting things on Facebook, etc that would be fantastic! If there is anybody able to print posters and put them up in the local area that would be perfect - we are only in a horse box so have no printing facilities :(

- Blimey I do hope she stays away from the A23 as that is such a busy road. I am in Horsham and have shared with a local Dog rescue facebook page. You may also want to put her on the Brighton Dogwatch facebook page as missing if not already done so. Have there been anymore sightings since this morning?
