The Cotswold Show is at Cirencester Park (Glos) on the 7th and 8th of July and there are many BACS gundog events on both days so lots of Springers will be there, so could be well worth a visit.

Hi All, Tess has now been missing for THREE weeks, no new sightings and no more news. Could everyone please check posters and replace them if necessary and put up more posters. Maybe we need to cover a larger area all of Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire?? Thanks Helen xx

Helen that's fantastic news! Well done everyone who helped. If you need advice on scenting etc, let me know. Let's hope we can narrow down the area she's wandering - make sure hundreds of posters are going up in that area so that more sightings come in. I have everything crossed for you!

A huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that joined us in our search party yesterday, Doug, Mary and Sam, Shelley and Barnie, Cherrie and all the dogs. Unfortunately we didn't find Tess but we spoke to hundreds of dog walkers and learnt about two sightings in a slightly different area of Maidenhead, Summerleaze and have searched there and are going back there later today as the sightings have been around 4pm and after. We're keeping our fingers crossed. Helen xx

Wednesday evening and still no news! I visited a couple of the local rescue centres again today and nearly came home with a puppy but no Tess..... More posters ahve gone out too. Please someone find Tess and bring her home

yogihmp - what about permanent travellers in houses??? The traveller liaison officer should know where they live... they don't have to be moving round! Ask around for local areas where they are housed.

Berkshire doesn't have a Country Council so each of the 6 Local Authorities should have a Traveller Liaison Officer. There are Travellers living in the Datchet area. The Dog Warden for Maidenhead is a friend of mine but she doesn't have access to email or the internet so I'll make sure she knows.

I have spoken to the local council and there have not been any travellers in the area for the last few weeks. I ge the feeling that she is not running loose any more and that perhaps she is being held somewhere!!

Helen - more than likely it'll be the county council - might also be the police, depends on each county. I tried online on each council website but didn't come up with anything so it will have to mean you calling the councils tomorrow to talk to their traveller liason officers. Beware that they get very offended if you accuse their "clients" of theft and whatever you do don't refer to them as gypsies. We need the officers on our side on this one so just be aware of being very PC when talking to them. Hope the postering is going ok... remember to talk to the PO sorting office and milkmen for the area tomorrow.. and dustmen!

A friend has just informed me that the local council should have a Travellers Liason Officer and he/she should be able to tell me where all the local 'travellers' are. Dee I'll email you the info once I have it. Thanks again for your help so far. Helen xx

yogihmp, I'm sorry I live in Edinburgh so can't help as much as I would like to. Tess is a stunningly beautiful springer. They are my favourite breed, I have one myself so I have absolutely everything crossed for her swift and safe return. Please stay positive. You are in the best hands, the doglost team and helpers are amazing. Tess is out there somewhere and I am sure we will get her home xxx

Hi I am over in Marlow and will look out for Tess along the Thames and around the the gravel pits, lots of places for Tess to investigate. I will let all other dog walkers in my area know too. I hope she is home to you really really soon.

yogihmp - photo now on site, poster ready to print off. I'll email helpers in the area shortly. Springers are popular with travellers in your area - I'd concentrate not only on widespread postering but locating where travelling and static travellers are currently located. Poster everywhere you can think of, widely. The post office sorting counter, fish & chip shops, near petrol stations (big 4x4s also need lots of petrol), over cash machines (where people queue), street corners, traffic lights, the lot. Hundreds and hundreds of posters....

I know what you are going through at the moment as our springer Bella is missing, a rescue as well. All we can say is , don't give up hope it's been nearly two weeks for us and we are remaining positive that she will return.
