- Just a quick update. This dog was never claimed, and nobody rang Wrexham or Denbighshire wardens or out of hours about him. Neither did anyone ring the council appointed pound or local rescues. He was advertised widely via Facebook, including lamping sites, and a couple of people came forward but he didn't belong to them. The best information i got was that two lads with other lurchers plus bags of dead rabbits were trying to sell a dog of this description very cheap before this one appeared living rough and chasing sheep on the hill. He had a rope quite tight round his neck. There is a reservoir up there. I can only conclude his shoulder injury and unreliability round stock made him useless as a worker so they either took him up and loosed him or they tried to drown him and he got away. Either way he has numerous issues. Dog warden was excellent and would have tried to get him a specialist lurcher rescue space but realistically i know a dog like this could die of old age in kennels. So basically i have adopted him. Unless an owner comes forward who can prove he was stolen or lost and that they made some attempt to find him he now lives with us and has settled well.
