So pleased Hattie is safely back home xx
Mollychops
Ive just spoken with Linda, Hattie is nice and relaxed tonight, and doesn't seem to be any the worse for her adventure thankfully !
Linda
I would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone on the doglost site, special thanks to Sue, Jenny and Sheila who were especially supportive. Without all the help I don't think I would have got her back. To anyone still looking, don't give up hope, I found Hattie close to home where I would never have thought she could get to. Accept all the advice about softly softly, it is very hard to do, but works. Thank you all again.Last edited: 2014-08-13 16:51:45 by Linda

Team Beagle Lost & Found
Brilliant news - hope she is well and just needs love and dinner x
Mollychops
Im very pleased to say Hattie is safe. Linda saw her earlier and spent tne next couple of hours trying to catch her, by the softly softly approach, walking away and speaking to her gently. It paid off, She then got closer to Linda, who was able eventually able to stroke her, then pick up her lead. Welcome home Hattie, and huge thanks everyone for help and supportLast edited: 2014-08-13 11:40:19 by Mollychops

So pleased to hear there has been a sighting. Hopefully food going out for the foxes will keep her hanging around that area and then good for a trap to go down if you can get one. The man with the thermal camera has been in touch to say he did try and check the scrubland where she was thought to be hiding but it was far too dense to pick up anything but since this sighting that has changed the focus. Keep safe little girl and show yourself again soon x.
Mollychops
Will bump her Linda due to sightings , a trap now may be the answer , If we can find one locally to borrow.I will catch you tomorrowLast edited: 2014-08-12 22:51:57 by Mollychops
beagle
you may need to borrow or buy something like this so she can't run off if taking the food

Have had some sightings of Hattie in the Gorse Hill area of Worcester, which is close to where I live. One lady puts down food for foxes and she has been in her garden several times. I have taken her crate and bedding and food there in the hope she will go in. Fingers crossed everybody. X

Have you made contact with your local Beagle and Hunt Kennels as they will have experience in finding nervous dogs and people will call them if they have spotted one in that area .
Mollychops
Just checked to see if Hattie is in paper today, hope so
Linda
Haven't heard from him yet, I'm sure he will contact when he can. Thanks for your help.
Beaglemum
Thanks for the update Linda. I hope you get a result and pleased that the paper is going to do something. Have you tried BBC Hereford and Worcs Radio? They put things on there occasionally re lost and found pets but it depends who's programme it is. The lady presenters seem the most sympathetic! Have you heard anything from the man I was telling you about last night who has offered help? I did give him your contact details. Good luck. Last edited: 2014-08-11 10:43:46 by Beaglemum
Linda
I have contacted the local newspaper this morning, and have Emailed the poster to them. They say that it should be in the Worcester paper tomorrow.
Linda
Thankyou to all for you support and messages. Unfortunately we have not had any sightings of Hattie since the evening she went missing, but I have had alot of hints & tips from people and I am hopeful that she will appear at some point.Last edited: 2014-08-10 16:00:09 by Linda

Have been discussing Hattie's plight on Facebook with other hound owners and there were suggestions to use thermal imaging/infrared equipment/binoculars if anyone up there can get a hold of some due to the dense undergrowth.
Beaglemum
Just had an update from a friend of mine who has been out looking for Hattie. "Have spoken to owner this morning. No sighting for a week. Have been up there for an hour. It's a tiny area of land with loads of scrub and undergrowth that is impossible to fight your way through. If she is in there curled up and weak you just would not see her. Posters up on the field paths on Avon Road side. If anyone goes up with their dog and decides to let it go into the undergrowth please be very aware that it is hemmed in on both sides by 2 very busy roads".

Hattie was probably used for breeding,in a previous life and will be so scaredLast edited: 2014-08-08 22:37:59 by Mollychops

No more sightings, Ive asked owner to put Hattie in local papers

Hattie is a very nervous rescue, that has only been in her new home 3 weeks. She bolted on a walk on Sunday, with a lead attached. There was one sighting later on in Avon rd. Someone saw her in their garden but she ran off. Owners have been working hard, contacting the Dogwarden and the vets, and Ive suggested, local sorting office for the post. So the posties in that area will be aware.Owner is going back to that spot today with some of her bedding in her crate. Im sending out advice sheets including scenting info, and a link to her poster. Owners have already been door to door with flyers asking locals to check sheds etc
