- Tamara, thank you for the details. That is good to know how it all came about. I am so happy that owners and dog lovers kept the pressure on and to those who helped track this chap down with Bonnie. Excellent news. x

- I followed Bonnie & Tweeted & Retweeted for her return
What worries me is why on earth did this man not know that it is law to report a found dog - or even have the 'common sense' that someone was probably missing her & not his right to keep him/her without doing so
If he'd reported finding her, then he wouldn't have had to feed & care for her - horrid man, just excuses methinks because he was found out - 2014-09-12 14:57 Tamara - Area Volunteer, East London
- sorry for the delay in replying, I have not been around for the last week or so. yes I can confirm bonnie has been reunited with her owners on Monday 8th September. she was being held in Ilford by the man she was spotted with earlier carrying the car bumper. he would not give her back unless he was handed £150 (which to me sounds like blackmail). in the end an agreement was met where her food and other costs were covered and she was returned to owners. she is now safe back home, and unharmed. xx thank you everyone for helping and caring and sharing. x

- Is there any update on Bonnie yet? Have the owners thought about asking the local papers in the area if they could do an appeal for this person to come forward that was seen with Bonnie - only he was obviously hoping to find her owners?

- Okay, if this chap was carrying a vehicle part you need to contact all the vehicle depots and places that sell car parts in the local vicinity. You need to ask them if any one fitting that description came by on that day. Someone will probably have sold him that bumper, or maybe a scrap place (but be wary of scrap dealers just in the case they are the wrong kind). If there was any receipt for this bumper then the car dealer col dphone this chap and find out where Bonnie is. I would also suggest contacting dog warden again now and also all the kennels/rescues because he could have handed her in. Also, suggest you poster the pubs in the area as dogs often get taken into them and someone may remember something. x

- a man entered brewers paint shop close to wellgate farm last week with bonnie looking for her owners, we know it was bonnie as a staff member took a picture. but unfortunately the man did not leave any forwarding details, he said he would try to find owners. no sightings of bonnie since. local shops and premises are also being checked to see if he enquired elsewhere. the man was described as either black or Asian in his 20's and carrying a car bumper. x

- Tamara - just seen what you meant. Okay, so you put this on for owner - thank you. Thank you for forwarding the email from me also.

- Thank you DW. Higgins have you received an advice sheet from one of the co-ordinators via email? I've seen Bonnie is being circulated on facebook which is great. Please add and check on all selling pages on fb too, also gumtree, preloved, epupz, dragon driving incase someone is trying to sell her on. Poster your area like mad! and as you have literally just moved to that area and Bonnie will be unfamiliar with the area I would be inclined to venture far and wide with the posters including your old address. Have you now updated the chip details? Im assuming of course that you have rang dog warden and logged with them. Ask the council to provide you with the pound names they use within the Barking and Dagenham council area and send them a poster of Bonnie. Contact Gemini kennels and Thurrock dog warden, although where Bonnie went missing is not their area, she may have wandered into that council area and been picked up. Contact Kynite rescue in Thurrock (can be found on facebook) and send them a poster too.
