So the story goes...

I was driving down Sodern lane, near Charminster at 07.00 this morning when I spotted a black and white collie on the edge of a crop field the farmer was in the field so I presumed it was his dog as I drove off off I looked in my rear view mirror as saw the dog had run off down the road looking stressed, I suddenly wondered if it was Sam, I telephoned the number on his dog lost page and spoke to Sam's owners Mum who said she would be over in 30 minutes, by the time I returned Sam had disappeared again, I spent the next 30 minutes driving around the country lanes and checking the fields for a sight of him, I was starting to get despondent when I glanced up a bridle way and saw a black and white dog heading behind a barn, I ran up the bridle way after him and found him in the barn he escaped and headed back towards the road, I was now worried he would bolt off down the road so I sat down in yhe middle of the path, curiosity got the better of him he stopped and stood there looking at me, luckily a minute later his owners Mum turned up called his name and he went bounding over to her obviously very relieved to be safe :-D

So pleased Sam is safely back where he belongs and not seriously hurt. Well done Daisy, I had a lovely email from the owner today while at work.

FOUND - I was lucky enough to find this gorgeous boy this morning and re-unite him with his family, will post more details later, welcome home Sam and stay safe, thanks for the kisses love from Vikki Xxx

No obvious signs of being hit by a car, he has a slight limp which I suspect is down to sore pads. Last edited: 2014-08-08 08:54:09 by Daisy

Reports of an injured dog in a field by Tilly Whim Lane off the A35, this was reported at 7.40 this evening. Owners and dog warden are searching now, fingers crossed he is found quickly and not too badly injured. Owners have been given telephone numbers for vets in Dorchester, I have also added their son's mobile number.
