- I am so pleased Tilly is safe and not out there with any bad folk, as sometimes happens and was my biggest worry. However, I am really upset that she has been in an accident. Poor little mite. I so hope her injuries are not bad enough to cause problems later in life and am glad she is on the mend. Phew! So many people on here care about you and Tilly. Do take everyone's advice, get her chipped - its the size of grain of rice and goes in in a split second and done. CopperM is incredibly kind to offer to deal with the fence for you and I would really take up this offer. It can do nothing but help you and Tilly. Also, sometimes dogs escape because they need more exercise, so just in case that is another reason Tilly gets out, try to take her for longer walks and take a water bottle for her in the summer. So glad she is alive, safe and on the mend. Do let us know how she gets on. Very best of luck and kisses for Tilly xxxxxx (And just in case, don't hesitate to contact us again should you ever need us, but let's hope you never do). God bless. x

- Tilly's mum/dad, I know you were a little apprehensive about having her chipped when she was last in our kennels but if she is well enough, please bring her down to our event next week and you can see how its done and it is really nothing to worry about. Hannakins Farm Billericay Thursday 21st 11:00 - 16:00.

- Brilliant news, thanks especially to CopperM & carolsdogs, Tilly's mum please take everyone's advice and get her chipped and make sure she is id tagged, NickyB is so right about terriers, intrepid explorers, inquisitive little diggers, knawers & escape artists, it is our job to all we can to keep them safe :) Love to gorgeous little Tilly x

- Its a bit odd that we were not called! We have a free microchipping event with the dogs trust on the 21st this month 11:00 - 16:00 Hannakins Farm, Rosebay Avenue, Billericay. Free health check vouchers and free nuetering vouchers also.

- Oh thats brilliant news , although i'm a bit confused as to why you hadn't been told before as you said you had contacted all the local vets ? we only put a couple of new posters up this morning so will remove them later , how is she ? please get her chipped now and always leave her with a collar and tag on ( even indoors ) i'm so very glad she's safe and coming home soon (;Last edited: 2014-08-13 13:01:46 by carolsdogs

- Do you still need that fencing? I will message you on your mobile..
- 2014-08-13 12:27 CopperM
- PS A good idea to get her chipped NOW while at the vets. Don't forget to register her - the vet will be happy to explain if you ask.
Collar and disc would be even quicker for returning Tilly: include a phone no, NOT the dogs name, as anyone could claim she responds to them, postcode but no house number, as for security you don't want people to know the house is empty when you are walking her.
With the dog I found 2 days ago, like Tilly she had no ID at all. Only lucky coincidence got her home. - 2014-08-13 12:13 CopperM
- SO pleased you have found her! Hope she heals as quickly as possible.
The usual custom is to take down posters to stop people searching and contacting you; also to contact those you have messaged and spoken to previously to let them know the good news too. (They may not have time to look here...)
A photo of her on this site when she's home is always appreciated! - 2014-08-13 11:06 Tilly
- Hi just to let you all no I've got Tilly back. A vets called me and said she has been in a accident last Friday and got took in. I went straight there rand see her and she is on the mend. Thank you to everyone who has helped and also give me hope I will find her. This is a great site and one I'd always be on to help others who have lost there dogs. Thanks again!

- The insurance will cover the cost of printing posters - check wit them first and then ask how they want to do this, but I say again, time is of the essence. These days, dogs do not always just turn up sadly. We hope Tilly will but owners have to really work hard and poster everywhere. This is what these kind people are saying, you have to put the work in with posters and letting everyone know. If you don't, then no one will know she's your dog. Dogs get given away and passed on as has been said and even sold in pubs, so poster all the pubs as well. This is how you get a million eyes looking for Tilly - by making them aware that she is missing in the first place. If she's got no chip how will anyone know she's yours unless posters are up? Collars come off or are taken off. Work hard and you can find her. Go get your Tilly! xxx
- 2014-08-11 20:45 Tilly
- Yes she is. I'll get it sorted in the morning and start putting them on every lamp post and through letter boxes. I won't give up.
- 2014-08-11 20:14 CopperM
- Just thought... is your dog insured? If so, the insurance may cover the cost of printing multiple fliers.
- 2014-08-11 20:09 CopperM
- I'm sorry I can't do more: my dog has had an op today and has to stay at home for the next few days to let her stitches settle. But I'm rooting for you! I found a dog today and someone I asked offered to keep her and give her a home... it was that easy! The found dog was claimed, thankfully. The owners of another dog 'lost' locally, plastered their poster on every other lamp post so even those without internet couldn't help but notice. Even one extra pair of eyes is valuable.

- No problem , i just wish we could all do more to help find her , maybe just do some hand made posters and put up in your local shops etc , have you door knocked all the neigbours in your area , and or put flyers through doors to say she is missing , especially those with children as kids are always out and about and generally very alert to anything they see ( or hear )
- 2014-08-11 17:26 Tilly
- Thank you for you effort you are putting in. I appreciate it.
- 2014-08-11 16:35 carolsdogs
- We have taken a poster to Tesco on the Wick this afternoon during our walk , which they have promised to put up ( they were a bit busy at the time ) and we have done a few lamposts and added her to Preloved as a lost dog too.Last edited: 2014-08-11 17:24:21 by carolsdogs

- I've been everywhere looking for her. The only access I have to a printer is the library but I work everyday. I've called the police station and there was no sign of Tilly. I've been looking before and after work for hours on end. If you could print some posters of for me I would really appreciate it. I won't give up on her until I know different.
- 2014-08-11 13:59 carolsdogs
- Are you going out looking everyday still and getting people to help search for her , and have you really postered everywhere around your area as i havn't seen any yet ? ( i will do some today as our printer wasn't working but it's ok now )you need to make her too hot to handle locally if she's been picked up by anyone ,did you ring the police ? and did you ask the warden where she was found last time ? i have to say if it was one of my dogs i'd be out all the time searching ( we will def carry on looking for her while walking our boys )Last edited: 2014-08-11 14:00:14 by carolsdogs

- I have emailed you again Tilly's owner. If you don't receive it please let me know asap. Let's find your girl! x
- 2014-08-11 02:16 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Tilly's owner, did you get my email I sent last time Tilly went missing? I'm not sure it went through as I know a couple came back to me? You need to get posters up asap. You also have some undesirables that way and that is my worst fear. My email will tell you how to deal with that. Basildon dog warden is fantastic. If you have reported to her, she will notify you if Tilly arrives with her. She checks in on DogLost too. At least that is one issue where we are covered well. So, poster, poster, poster! Share on facebook and twitter etc. We will also. x

- I have some cheap plastic fencing and metal pins that might solve your problem temporarily. It kept my dog off the lawn when necessary.
Don't forget Medivet on Runwell Road, South Beech vets toward the town centre on Southend Road, and Cherrydown vets on the London Road. Medivet and Cherrydown would let their other branches know, if you asked them. - 2014-08-10 17:19 Tilly
- Thank you for posting your last message I've already tryed that kennels. But I'll keep trying all the vets in basildon. I just don't no what else to do.
- 2014-08-10 16:45 CopperM
- Thanks for posting, Tilly! Have you contacted all the local vets, also those in Basildon? How about Crofters kennels near the Carpenters Arms? They rehome RSPCA dogs I believe. How about asking Acresway Kennels in Thundersley who are the local pound for strays? Also Gemini Kennels on the A127.
I might be able to help with your fencing problem, (I'm in Runwell), if you would ask mods for my landline no... Please leave a message and your landline no, quoting Tilly's DogLost number and I'll respond as soon as I can.

- Your'e very welcome , sadly we did a big drive around to your estate and back during our visit to Aldi earlier , then looking at the green areas near the stream etc , but nothing sadly ( have you been on to the police ? as worst case scenario they have to be notified during any road traffic incidents invoving dogs ) but i really hope you get some good news soon (;
- 2014-08-10 12:30 Tilly
- I don't think it's the building work that bothers her it's just a few gaps in the fence line now and she has escaped. Thank you for keeping a look out for me..
- 2014-08-10 12:18 carolsdogs
- Ok thank you , we have a couple of friends near you so we will def ask them to keep a lookout for her too , maybe if you could find out where the person found her last time it may give us a clue ? we are popping out shortly so will do a drive around your way from here ( the wick ) i always keep a spare lead etc in the car ( just incase ) as we have actually caught a few strays over the years that way (; but fingers crossed she has already been taken in and reported (; please let us know if she does come home etc though , do you think the building work is scaring her ?
- 2014-08-10 12:02 Tilly
- She was last seen at my address in fourth ave shotgate at about 3:30 on Friday evening. She will go to you and is very friendly. I could try the dog wardens again..Last edited: 2014-08-10 12:09:29 by Tilly

- Hi ,thanks for that , but we really still need to know where she has been lost from so we can help search for her . and where she was found last time incase she has headed the same way again, please keep a collar an tag on her at all times if you are lucky enough to get her home safely again though , we all want to help get her back home as soon as possible , but def need more information ? also will she come to a stranger and is she dog friendly ?
- 2014-08-10 11:32 Tilly
- Hi everyone, I am the owner of Tilly, and due to next door doing building work she keeps getting out.. I'm really sad I've lost her again and I've tried every we're looking for her. I've called every dog place going and there is no sign of Tilly.thank you all so much for all your effort and I really hope I get her back soon. Thank you..
- 2014-08-10 10:58 carolsdogs
- And the owner never seems to respond either ); maybe Bas Dog Warden could let us know where she was found a couple of weeks ago ? as for someone to door knock our way ( on the Radwinter ave side of the Wick ) i assume she must have been found quite nearby ? we did look around the stream /green along Radwinter last night just incase ,also the stream is very close to bursting it's banks again which is another worry should she be hiding out around there especially with the weather worsening again ):
- 2014-08-10 10:05 CopperM
- So there are now 5 followers all probably willing to help but we desperately need more details as to where she was lost, otherwise it's like looking for a needle in a haystack! There are loads of dog owners in SS 11 and SS12 that would keep their eyes open, if only they knew where to start...Last edited: 2014-08-10 10:09:00 by CopperM

- Wer'e not that far away , but can't really help if nobody is saying where she was actually lost from ( do we know where abouts the last person found her ) as he actually knocked on our door as people had told him we have a jrt , and we are about 5/10 mins from Shotgate ? it just all seems a bit bizzare really ?

- We don't know what happened, but right now we have to try and help get her home. This is really not a good area for a little JR to be lost in. Come on little one. x
- 2014-08-09 15:30 NickyB
- please please please get her microchipped and have an id tag too. chips are great but invisible to us folk who don't have a scanner. as a lover of jack russells (currently have 3 rescued) they are little devils for going off exploring, and giving us all a lot of worry hard work and sleepless nights
- 2014-08-09 12:48 carolsdogs
- Is this the same Tilly that was lost and reunited two weeks ago ? if so i'm really shocked and still she's not tagged etc ); i just looked back at the reunited page and yes it her , where does she keep going missing from and how ?Last edited: 2014-08-09 13:00:52 by carolsdogs
