For those that dont have Facebook....

What a day! We drove back up to Walden Moor which is where we lost Tay a week ago today. We parked the vehicle up next to where we had left Tay's dog box and I noticed that the food had gone and there were dirty marks on the duvet. Didn't want to get my hopes up so told myself it was probably one of the keeper's dogs when they had been checking to see if she had turned up or not. We walked up onto the moor and after about twenty minutes, I turned to look back down towards where the vehicles were and saw what I though was a person in dark-coloured waterproofs standing amongst some reeds about a hundred and fifty yards away and watching me. I watched it for a while and it never moved a muscle, just stood gazing at me, so then I wondered if it might be a dog - not my dog of course, that would be too good to be true - but maybe one of the guns' dogs that had got left behind and had followed my scent up the track. So I whistled. It ran forward about twenty yards and then stopped and looked at me. I whistled again and it did exactly the same thing. I was thinking, 'Poor dog, it must have got left behind - I'll see if it will come to me and then I can pop it on a lead and look after it until its owner turns up.' So I whistled it again, and again and again. Eventually, it was only about ten yards away and my other dogs were all barking at it - they thought it was a strange dog as well - and it crawled on its tummy towards me. The other dogs rushed up to it and started sniffing it, so I pushed them away and lifted its head so that I could see its face - just in case it was Tay and you can imagine my joy when I realised it was her! I hugged her and hugged her and cried and cried and then after a few minutes, it was as though she finally realised that this was really happening - she had found me - and she started leaping into the air and running round in circles. It was amazing. I was crying and she was rushing round like a mad thing and there was nobody for me to tell - everybody was out of earshot.

She is a bit thin and has a slightly sore nose, but apart from that she is fine.
This has to be one of the best days of my life!!!
