Can't believe there's no news on Poppy. CCTV no good? Maybe it's time for a nationwide push? If Poppy's been sold on she must surely have been taken to a vet for her vaccinations - yes, I know she could be anywhere in the country so how about sending Poppy's details to as many surgeries as possible?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just checking to see if there was any news about Poppy yet. Might be widening the search area a bit and sending posters to vets who might be giving Poppy her injections and might hold puppy classes. Also worth contacting dog training clubs that hold puppy classes, as she might be registered with a club (have to prebook with many of them) or be taken to classes in a few weeks time. Hope there is some good news soonxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well spotted re: the jumble Patsy, our local paper advertised it as Saturday 18th Oct...... which is very helpful of them ! Yes am up to my neck in jumble as usual at this time of year ! Intended taking posters for Megan, Bonnie, Jasper and Poppy. Nikki has a board for pictures of dogs needing homes, don't want to overshadow her display or I'd take them all !! Have managed to find another phone book with vet e mail addresses more into sth.London and have just bombarded about a dozen with Poppy posters ! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nice manager of Leatherhead Tesco let me put up posters for Poppy in store and at cashdesk in garage this evening. Bought Surrey Advertiser - good coverage, with big pic of Poppy and giving police phone number, crime number etc., No mention of DogLost though, but shall I send you a copy anyway Jayne? Also good ad in dog section of local free ads. Checked this week's Ad Trader and other local papers but no Beagle pups for sale. Big South of England Ploughing Match at Wotton, Nr Dorking this Sunday. I shall be going, armed with posters. Px Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think I e mailed the poster to practically every vet in Surrey on Tuesday, did all the ones with e mail addresses anyway. Unfortunately haven't got details of vets in the London and Surrey borders area, tried to find them on internet but only one gave an email (so I've 'done him/her') Have contacted Nikki at Epsom Canine Rescue as I believe she has contacts with some of the vets around that way. Nowhere is safe where people can get. Sorry to be cynical, but a large amount of theft is opportunist - and we all know about bystander syndrome, so don't think a crowded place or locks are protection for your "valuables"Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a little poppet. Hope you find her soon. I take my Maggie into the Toilet with me and if anyone says anything then I won't repeat what I tell them, after all you wouldn't leave a baby outside would you...so why should you leave your dog? Apparently France is dog-friendly, they are even welcome in shops/restaurants, maybe DOG LOVERS should re-locate to France???? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Omg, how awful - I have thought service stations quite safe as there are so many people about. Have just returned from France, where every service station was full of dogs with owners in the restaurant, in the loo - what are we supposed to do here - we have to use the loo and can you imagine the fuss if you tried to take your dog with you. Totally agree with your thoughts Jan. Will start getting London friends to contact their vets as well as people around here. Also, everyone please buy local Ad-Trader, Loot etc., any papers that advertise local dogs for sale. Poppy's owners: good idea for you to invest in subscription to all issues (ie whole of UK) of Ad Trader and check through all the ads. Also helpers pleae put posters in pet shops, or anywhere else that peple advertise puppies for sale. We have to move fast . . . . PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As Poppy is so young if she is sold on, which seems the most likely, buyer will almost certainly need to take her to a vet. That seems the best chance of tracing her I would have thought. If everybody that sees this site emails the poster to their own vet and as many others in their area that they can find e mail addresses for........? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi - am back from London now. Put poster up at Pets at Home on A3 at Raynes Park on the way home. (they promise to phone if anyone tries to advertise similar pup there). Saw your poster at Sainsbury's Jan! Thankyou. ASlso postered Fetcham village (notice board and pet shop) on the way home. Can do more postering tomorrow am, but . . . . WE NEED TO KNOW WHICH SIDE OF A3 WE ARE TALKING ABOUT - i.e. was it the BP service station going towards London or towards Guildford? PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP - all helps to decide which area to poster first. If it's on the London-bound side, then Poppy could be anywhere round M25, or beyond, and perhaps in that case Admin could email poster to Berks/Herts/Essex/Kent/Sussex. If on Guildford side of A3, then we could be looking at local villages (KT24, RH5 etc) or along towards Hogsback (remember Sophie re-united? - Puttenham, Ash, Farnham etc), or even down to the coast (Portsmouth or Southampton). Admin or Poppy's owners - please let us know. Thankyou. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sainsburys at Cobham have put poster up at the entrance for me, where it can't be missed (no excuse to go out spending money now Patsy !) they were very nice. Took poster into new vets thats opened in local park (Epsom) and also to Drift Bridge vets on Downs. Put posters at Oxshott and Esher Common. Any luck with CCTV at service station ? I can phone Eagle radio if needed, thought maybe that call would be better coming from owners who can give more details, also (if they haven't already) have a look at Radio Jackie web site, there is an option to email them news stories, so maybe they could do that and again be able to give more details and stress their distress at this awful crime. Hi - am back from postering in Ripley area earlier this morning. Posters up at village post office, the green, bus shelter, saddlers. Have given poster to Sage Antiques & Interiors in the village - Chrissie, who owns the shop, and her staff and family all know loads of people in the area and will get the word out and display poster at the shop. Also put poster through the door of Ripley Police Sation (closed as only open limited hours) and at new vets at Downside. (Brilliant Jan getting poster to all those vets so fast). Also postered outside Livery Stables at Grove Heath Lane and along Gambles Lane. (Gambles Lane/Grove Heath area could do with more posters, but ran out of time and posters). Have also given poster to my local milkman and local friends. Cannot do much more today as need to go to London - but will try to get to big Sainsbury's at Cobham on the A3 tonight, unless anyone else up that way. Jan - will look up the Eagle phone number for you. Great that Sam at Surrey Ad has responded to fast. good luck Poppy . . . .PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
