Catherine has managed to get in touch with the chap who is pretty sure he sighted Rupert on Bilsthorpe Park. The chap used to be a judge at dog shows, he said he is pretty sure it was Rupert as he remembered thinking what an unusual colour & he caught his eye. If it was Rupert, he was walking with a young boy. On the park in Bilsthorpe where the skate park is. Please please look out for him if you are in the area. You can also call the police on 101, quote crime number 320-04092014 with any info. Keith is the police officer dealing with the case. Please keep sharing people. I would like to get this page to thousands of likes, so we have the best chance of getting him home. Thanks for your continued supported, its overwhelming. You are all very kind xxxx

- Do we definitely know that these people caught Rupert? Or is it possible that he escaped and beetled up Shortwood Lane? I feel that we have to look at both possibilities as Wispa found scent in the fields, though I suppose he could have gone up there and come down again and then got caught. I am bumping his page to top because of the sighting. Will text you tomorrow to discuss.

- Rupert vanished from the yard where his people were tending their horses. We got a good scent which led into the horse field, and at first we assumed that he had gone through there and kept going into fields beyond. But Wispa followed the scent round the field perimeter and led us back almost to the yard - then showed us where Rupert had gone under a gate into neighbouring property and then out of their drive. Trail then went up Flash Lane and across A616 on to Shortwood Lane which is a dead end for traffic but has various rough tracks leading off it. This is a large area of mostly stubble fields with well established hedges and dry ditches running underneath them. We did a big circuit round a couple of fields - and through thick hedge and deep ditch - before ending our session. Owners have postered and handed out flyers widely and contacted everyone they can think of. Horseback and bike are the best ways to search the big area of fields we found. There are hardly any people there, just one or two farmers in fields which are still being harvested, and they have almost finished. Explains why no sightings! Does not help that Rupert is the size and colour of a big rabbit or a hare so might easily have been seen but ignored.

- Thankyou Owl and Wispa going out to help track
I understand that the ditches and hedges around the stubble field are to be searched by bikers and riders. Owners doing all the right things with posters and fliers also - 2014-09-02 10:59 Owl
