- Copied from the Mayhew's page:
"It is with very great sadness that we have to inform our supporters and everyone who has been following Grace’s story, that we have brought her desperate struggle to an end.
www.themayhew.org/amazing-grace
She had to be put on a drip after collapsing at the weekend. She had lost weight and was very weak, unwell and distressed.
It was an agonising decision for everyone at The Mayhew as we had all fallen in love with our Amazing Grace over the last two months.
However, her condition was so chronic that despite persisting with several forms of treatment she was still suffering. Her debilitating and constant diarrhoea and the mineral deficiencies she was experiencing just added to the overall poor prognosis.
Her condition was never curable but even with the medication and all the supplements she was on she was not responding as well as we had hoped.
We are all devastated as she was such a trusting and loving character but ultimately her quality of life was seriously impaired with no future improvement likely.
We will all remember that in her final months she was loved, cherished, warm and comfortable.
Her story has spread across the world and invoked outpourings of love and generosity that have also been amazing.
Grace is now at peace; no more pain, no more sadness, no more suffering. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Sadly, Grace will not be the last dog in need of our help and we will continue to respond with the best care and comfort we can to help animals who are subject to cruelty and neglect . Your donations of money and gifts made her time with us so much better and we cannot thank you enough. If you would like to help other animals like Grace, please consider making a donation in her memory: www.themayhew.org/amazing-grace
Thank you for your continued support.

- update from mayhew animal home:
"Update 15/09/14
Thank you so much to everybody who has donated or offered their support so far. Grace is doing much better already: the fluid retention and distended tummy have gone down (3kg of fluid has been drawn off in total), she is much livelier (enjoying playing with a ball) and she is eating well. However Grace’s weight, at 12.5kg, is still half of what it should be and she is excruciatingly thin. We will continue doing everything we can to nurse Grace back to full health and will keep our supporters updated. Your donations are still hugely appreciated." - 2014-09-12 14:54 allimac
- :( awful. Will make a donation. x

- She doesn't look well - pregnant and undernourished?? Or is there something else wrong?
Hope she gets a new loving home. - 2014-09-05 12:31 jenna
- Maybe the Mayhew Animal Home in Kensal Green NW10 could rehome her if the owners are not located. Or if she has been neglected and needs a better home
