Welcome home Bella. X
Millys Mum
I'd noticed Bella's page and just had to post a 'yippee message'. YIPPEE!!! What great work from everyone involved and what better reward than to have Bella back safe and sound. Kaz K9 your story about her relaxing in your arms and closing her eyes was so lovely and heart-warming and just what I needed after the day I'd had today. Such a beautiful girlie (she looks like a mini version of our NZ Huntaway). I hope Bella enjoys a long, happy and healthy life in her eventual new home xx
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
Fantastic news xxxxxxx
Kaz K9
Sorry I didn't call Heather or anything, was on my phone earlier and it's rubbish for finding anything on websites!!
Kaz K9
I cannot stop smiling!!! Just so wonderful that she is safe! I honestly thought I would be over the park every day gaining her trust for a while so it's just brill that it only took today! It helps that I studied dog behaviour and I have my own dog walking/pet sitting business so have had my fair share of learning how to gain an animal's trust in kind, positive ways. Through just sitting on the floor, making no eye contact and throwing food away from me, Bella learnt quickly that I was no threat to her which helped her to come closer. The lovely people that stayed with their dogs helped too as she really did relax around the dogs. I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of her relaxing in my arms and actually closing her eyes and puting her head on my shoulder. Just magical xx

Kaz, Heather's number is the first one on this page for contact as she and CopperM were doing loads of work so we added her number above Jade's.

Fantastic news! Well done Kaz! Brilliant stuff. We have been so worried about this girl. Heather & CopperM - thank you too for your constant efforts with the postering and the feeding station. All you fab helpers' efforts lead to this moment. Kaz, hang around we need you for some others! LOL :-) Jade, can you confirm, as CopperM says where Bella is? We can still help further wih Bella if need be.
If you see posters, please can you remove them now. We need to keep the council happy. Thank you so much! This is fantastic news! Well done! You really rallied round when Bella needed you. Fantastic! x
CopperM
Jade... You need to confirm on here that Bella is with you now, so Kimmybear can put her in the reunited file.
CopperM
Well done, Kaz K9!
Lets hope Bella knows where her bread is buttered/tripe sticks are kept, and not to climb out of a window again!

Fantastic news!!! Well done!!!
Kaz K9
I went back over Admiral's Park armed with tripe sticks, raw rabbit and a smelly raw beef rib!I started to walk the paths i'd seen her earlier and there she was!! I saw her approach a lady with two golden rets in the distance and I got closer and she didn't run! The lady with the goldens stuck around kindly as Bella seemed happier with other dogs. I sat on the floor and threw her tripe sticks which she took with Gusto! A few more people with dogs came along and she was definitely more relaxed, eventually after about an hour, she came close enough for me to grab her collar!! I put a slip lead AND a clip lead on her and off we went. She froze and wouldn't walk so I gently picked her up and she instantly relaxed and she even started going to sleep!!! Adorable baby. Thank you to the lovely people who helped me!!
balthazar_bing
Well done Kaz K9!!!! Amazing result. And well done to all involved : ) Bella can sleep easy tonight.

CopperM
Well done Kaz K9! A relief to know she's sticking around Beeches Road! Do get in touch with Heather as she has a plan: best to work together and not against each other, even with the best will in the world.!
Kimmybear has her contact details

Where are you based? Chelmsford?Last edited: 2014-09-15 14:55:50 by CopperM
Kaz K9
I saw and got very close to Bella over Admiral's Park between 11-12 today. I contacted the rescue she came from and sent a picture I managed to take and they confirmed it was definitely her! She is extremely nervous and I did not want to drive her out of the park so I let her be when she started to run from me. I was at the Beach's Drive end of Admiral's Park and she was in the wooded area along there. She looked in great condition and was very playful with my lab for a few seconds but then got spooked. I am going over in a bit with smelly food to try and gain her trust. I just hope she's still in that park!!

Sighted in Goat Hall Lane, Galleywood on Thursday 11th at about 9.45. She was running up from Galleywood Road past Clarendon House vets and into Goat Hall Lane. I saw her further up the lane near Horse and Groom Lane and went to see if I could see her on the common but no luck I am afraid. Hope she returns home soon.

Shelagh
OK I ring round some and leave a missing dog report.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
It seems she has a Romanian chip. Jade, has this been registered in England to Alex? Shelagh, I doubt very much any vets/rescues etc have been notified, but at the moment she is still on loose. The Highways also. Thank you. x
Shelagh
Can somebody tell me if dog is chipped,to current owner. Also has somebody rung all vets and rescues. If not I will do for you.
Heather
Looking like a good triangle would really appreciate some help with postering the local estates westlands etc
Heather
Sighted this morning pitch and putt Beeches Road could be heading back to Melbourne area is there anyone can poster this area today possibly Admirals as well I can't get out until tomorrow as I have a home check tonight
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I will email you Heather & CopperM tomorrow with some advice & more things to do. She may well be heading back to Hylands as this will probably be her triangle now. Round and round. I wonder how long it has taken her, or if she has been going round the whole thing a lot already? Does anyone know the approximate mileage between the areas sighted? I wonder if there is another place we are not aware of yet, that she passes? I need you kind folk to pick a good place (that we don't put on here or make public), to put her feeding station. It has to be a place where she has walked already. A safe place, away from prying eyes where she can eat undisturbed, but also where you can hide and watch from a distance. Once we know she's coming back and eating (we'll figure out how later) we go to the next step. The important thing is to allow her some peace and time to eat and drink and maybe bed down, if she wants to. She needs to feel secure at the feeding station. (Ideally someone's garden if she's gone anywhere near one). We still need all hands on deck with the posters and try the radio to see if they will announce we are looking for a Rommie escapee. If anyone, possibly Jade, can call the local paper and ask if they'd do a story, that would be great. They may not, but they may if they have an angle. Now the angle would be Romanian rescue on loose or anything else you can think of e.g. a pup. We just need sightings from the public which will make your jobs a lot easier. You are fantastic out there! Well done CherylB too. xxx
Heather
Guessing if that was the case they didn't catch it (shame) hopefully has turned back up towards Galleywood again
CherylB
Have asked where the info came from re sighting near A12 btween Galleywood and three mile hill this morning and apparently it was reported on the Chelmsford Radio traffic announcement at around 10 ish this morning warning drivers to be careful as a dog was on the loose but that police were on the scene.
Heather
managed to get through to control room they have no reported incidents involving animals in that area
Heather
tried to call the police on 101 for info but was put in a queue for the control centre and couldn't hold on as I am at work is anyone else able to make the call for info owner is unable to call this number from her phoneLast edited: 2014-09-11 14:40:15 by Heather
CopperM
Is Bella heading back to Hylands again? Just up three mile hill from this junction.
Heather
not sure I have registered this with the Highways Agency will see what I can find out
CherylB
Did ring the mobile number to update and they said they'd ring the council. Is there anyway we can find out from the police if it was Bella or a description of the dog? If they were there they must of seen it. Also in which direction it went if it wasn't actually caught?
CherylB
Yes of course. Am constantly scouring the roads also. Hav asked people again on fb to please update on here but if they really don't want to to update me and il post. Just really hope she's caught soon.
Heather
Cheryl can you please keep an eye on this for any update would appreciate it
CherylB
Just seen on fb that a dog was running loose near the A12 near Galleywood and the three mile hill junction about 2 hours ago apparently police were on the scene. That's all it says.
CopperM
Gave handbill too to houses either end of Deadman's Lane. There's a poster up on the trees too, so hope most people along there know by now.

Just checked in with Jade no new sightings we desperately need another one to confirm she is still in the Galleywood area

Tweeting for Bella ...appeal for searchers .....sadly too far away but will help to spread message xx
Seeks
Way too far to be of any use but will share and tweet that your looking for helpers.

Really hope some folk can and sorry I am no use for anything else x
CopperM
To anyone who reads this, but doesn't post, please would you print out some posters and put them in prominent places to raise awareness? Bella will bless you for it!
We'd rather you joined and helped find her!
Heather
Hi CopperM really glad you are on board. I did not get a chance to go into individual houses as was getting dark I did put a poster in the letter box of the cats protection league and I have put a poster at Galleywood shops and the kebab man outside the white bear has a poster up. I am going to poster down Barnard Road this evening. Bella will not be insured as she was in foster this would have been down to the adopting family which hasn't happened yet. Jade did have some posters and I have been printing some at work but obviously can't do lots so hopefully putting posters in high profile places will raise awareness. Am happy to be ground commander but will be on holiday from the 20th - 27th Last edited: 2014-09-10 09:40:31 by Heather
CopperM
Kimmybear:is it possible to change the wording on the poster, to 'last seen in Galleywood'? Also the Missing from section repeats itself - can you change that, please?
CopperM
Thanks, Cheryl!
I'm coming to Chelmsford this afternoon anyway, so will put handbills in Deadmans Lane letterboxes, unless Heather has already done this. (Will check before I leave here early afternoon.)
I live 10miles/25mins away, so OK for a dog walk on the common, not sure about being a "ground commander"!
Willing to help, though.
Galleywood has changed lots since there was a stables at White Bear corner! Has anyone posted there?
Is Bella insured? Could Jade get lots of posters/handbills printed through contacting/claiming insuranceLast edited: 2014-09-10 09:05:05 by CopperM

Kimmybear I am with Bellas Angels and live in Galleywood although I do work full time I am more than happy to assist where necessary I have now postered Deadmans Lane and the riding stables lathcoates seabrights and Clarendon vets. I have two Romanian rescues myself and work with safe rescue with transport etc. Will need some help as never co-ordinated a track before but did get a lot of experience during our Molly hunt - can you get back to me thanks
CherylB
Il post to the 'we're from galleywood' Facebook page to update sightings on here -no probs.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Sighted yesterday in Deadman's Lane.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
One more thing. Please be alert to people posing as helpers or kind public, that may not be. If anyone tries to capture her, don't let them unless you know who they are. I hope that makes sense and you understand me.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Okay, we have a situation here. Bella was in foster having been rescued from Romania. She is running scared. Fosterer is unable to assist in catching Bella. She can take calls. So we need someone to take over on the ground - it must be someone connected with the Rescue or DogLost. Bella is on her own and needs us. I can see two of you there already. Dedication is required. It can be done and will be done but Bella needs YOU. We will direct you in how to do this.
We know she is doing a triangle, but need someone to plot the sightings on a map and then do a feeding/water station. If you think you can do this and/or pair up with other trustworthy helpers, please let me know and I will email you what to do. We need a "ground commander". Any takers?
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Would Bellas Angels be prepared to help, I don't know where they are from but they were involved in the recapture of Maria another foreign rescue Southend way. They were also prepared to help in the capture of Nico recently. Just a thought if they were close.
CopperM
Have just emailed Galleywoofers DTC to draw their attentiom to Bella. I thin they are in Slades Lane.
CopperM
Please could people post sitings on here rather than Facebook, as not everyone 'does' Facebook.
It helps to keep the knowledge all in one place of Bella's whereabouts.
The usual aim is to set up a feeding station where the dog feels comfortable: when the time is right, there's a possibility of placing the food in a trap.
Chasing doesn't help, it just will make her move on.
CherylB please could you crosspost my comments here to Facebook. Joining DogLost is completely free, in case people are worried. We are all volunteers.
CherylB
Hiya didn't realise until this morning I saw on FB that this was Bella. I saw her yday down Deadmans lane. Lots of people tried to catch her but she was v v scared! Ran up to watch house lane and people in cars tried to get her as well. Last seen in the orchards down Deadmans lane galleywood and people couldn't get to her :( late yesterday afternoon. Have informed the telephone number given. Some people down Deadmans lane are aware and are keeping an eye out. Have to say I haven't seen any posters yet or knew any info about heruntil today. Wish I knew more yday would hav given everyone info yday. Sorry we will keep an eye out.Last edited: 2014-09-09 13:53:25 by CherylB
Heather
Thanks CooperM so glad someone else in the area is being proactive looking for her. Jade does not drive so very difficult for her to get to the area. I will drop some more posters this afternoon - Seabrights CPL Lathcoates Garden Centre Co-op etc will drop posters in houses if I get time and also put one in the park thanks for your help
CopperM
Walked Galleywood Common this morning. Plenty of wildlife there for food...
Handbills given to dog walkers and some houses, not many... Full size posters given to the Running Mare pub, the Stables nursery and Parklands Farm stables tack room for prominent display. I spoke to Wood Farm and one of the cottages too and they promised to keep an eye open. Thanks to the person who has put up posters on the common and also near the church. I think I saw another but can't remember where!

I still think there are plenty of other places that could be postered: Jade, how about contacting Chelmsford Cricket club, Thriftwood School and Chelmsford Cats Protection in Deadmans lane near where Bella's been seen? There's also St. Michael's C of E Junior School, Galleywood Infant School, and the Co-op at the corner of Homemead. Taking posters there might be more effective, but I suspect you could do this now before me...

Apparently there's a Facebook page for Galleywood, according to a dog owner. Bella has been spotted a number of times in the Barnard Road area, but always runs if anyone even looks at her. Bella's owner, Jade, said that she was seen at the Eagle pub (just over the road from the common) last Saturday.
Anyone I spoke to was encouraged not to chase, but to join and post here, or phone in with Bellas ID no. to say where and when she had been seen.
There must be lots of people who dont 'do' Facebook, but would look at DogLost!Last edited: 2014-09-09 13:16:59 by CopperM
CopperM
Do you know whereabouts in Galleywood,, Kim? Was it on the common?
I could go over there to walk tomorrow....

Maybe these are 2 sides if her triangle: home to Hylands, Hylands to Galleywood, Galleywood hopefully towards home?Last edited: 2014-09-08 21:27:26 by CopperM

Bella was apparently seen in Galleywood late Saturday night. Do we have anyone out that way to assist. This is a poor Romanian pup.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Just seen she's a pup. Wonder how old? She may not be so street wise. Can people please help and poster as much as possible. Thank you. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
The good thing about Romanian dogs is that they are clever and do tend to survive well till they are caught, so hang in there. We need to plaster the area with posters so someone calls when sighted. Then we take one step at a time. You can do this! Emailed owner. x
