- Thanku Jayne, and thanks for tweets & share by DogLost volunteers. He truly would not've gone home without the help of bin kitty FB, Dubai Lost & found cats FB members who responded to my post and asked for help from Pet Express Dubai Manager, who then sent circular to UAE vets. Thanks to Nad Al Shiba Vet Hospital for looking up the MC, and providing owner & cat name. And all others who looked up the MC, and shared photo

- Happy news - the tom has gone home to his very loving family, who originally rescued him from a bin in Dubai, as a kitten. They had feared the worst, and become despondent in their search, as this is a cat that never wanders. They had searched and postered, door-knocked, and made enquiries locally, but not in the exact area where he was found, which was more towards the next town. This MC had been deemed untraceable by UK veterinary staff, microchip company, and the animal charity which dealt with the tom. However, once the long-awaited and correct MC was released to me on the 16th Sept, 2 months after being scanned, so that I could pass it to professionals in UAE, I succeeded in tracing the owner on Sept 18th. However, I couldn't have done so without the help of many kind people in UAE on the bin kitty collective FB and Lost and found cats in Dubai FB, whose members pointed me in the right direction - specifically the Manager of Pet Express Dubai, who sent a circular to UAE vet clinics, which resulted in a clinic providing us with only the owners and cat's name. They had no other up to date contact details. I then traced the owner, using FB, and another separate method to find their contact details. The tom is ok, but caught a virus in cattery, better now, but is recovering after his ordeal, and still a little quiet. So I believe there are other traceable MCs out there, belonging to well-loved pets who are truly being missed. Despondency can be a major cause of failure to find your missing pet, preventing owner doing the necessary practical things. Thank you janiejewel - in reply to your comment, I did contact Cats Protection about this cat, and also they were aware. Apart from Pet Express Dubai, many other people helped with my search - all UAE vets and UAE animal welfare societies who checked the MC for a match, and other Pet relocators, and everybody who shared the tom's advert on FB. Please get in touch with other 'untraceable' MCs - I can't promise anything, only that I was a bloodhound in a previous life, and working dogs can become very destructive in the home when they don't have a job to do ;) With this one, I had only: Owner name (provided by UAE vet), cat name (provided by UAE vet), microchip number (eventually correctly provided by UK vet) and area cat found (provided by UK vet)

- Hope owner is found soon. Local Cat protection may know something; worth a try
