The tree surgeons who were about in the area when Kizzy went missing I think are back in the area again. I live in Leighton Buzzard and had a leaflet put through door late last week, which gave a local address. Went to Dunstable today and had the same leaflet exactly delivered but a London address, very suspect. Just keep an eye out for others dogs I think at least. Still searching for Kizzy everyday whilst searching for Hemp and Tibker of course.

Tansey. I have contacted dogtheftawareness, I sent them an email, when they replied I sent them poster and pictures of my girls. They sent me an email back saying they would display posters of my girls on their stand at crufts, worth you contacting them too, the more eyes that see Kizzy the better. Good luck x
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Thank you Tansey, yes both my girls are registered on petslocated.com
I register them on any site I come across, also send email, poster and photos of both girls to every website that has an email address x

Hi Tansey. Have you heard of dogpages? I was told about it. Really good website. I have almost covered all areas now. Just pick an area, send an email about Kizzy when she went missing, from what area and description of her. Also put your doglost ID number. When you get an email back, send them a copy of her poster. It means there are thousands of people in so many different areas aware of her, she could be anywhere in the country now, just like my two. Every bit helps. Good luck
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Let's hope so Tansey, fingers crossed for us all x

Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
i got a call yesterday from the police. They could not say too much, as a lot going on around us at the minute, however, they are putting a leaflet together to go out to every household in newspapers and news story in all the papers. They are putting Tinker and Hemp on the front of the leaflets and papers. I am really pleased with this, they are going to email me a copy of the leaflet so I will somehow get it put on the site, once I have that I will contact the legal team at RSPCA as I think they might take more notice with it being done by the police. Fingers crossed. I will post every thing on Tinker and Hemps pages 71080 and 71081
kcc
Thanks for the link but sadly not Kizzy.
Interested to know how the press conference went Elaine Tinker and Hemps Mum?

You really are both doing a fabulous job so far for all the dogs well done. Kizzy is still missing and we too are still searching. Lets hope our dogs are home soon.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
i have been talking to the police today, they have invited me to a press conference, I think there is quite a lot going on at the moment, but only time will tell. I have told them about the doglost website. I will tell them all I can at the press conference for all our sakes
Tansey
Thank you for that tip and I will ring tomorrow its good they are eventually getting to some of the puppy farms and saving the dogs.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
It seems They are having a crack down on puppy farms, another one was raided yesterday just near Darlington. Just google raid on puppy farm in Darlington. You will get to the newspaper report. I'm not saying that Kizzy is there, but worth looking into. I have contacted them because of my missing girls x
Tansey
Yes do hope we do and all the others too !
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Now following Kizzy hopefully we will get them ALL home SOON.
Tansey
looking at 78128 could it be kizzy but they say the dog not chipped but could the chip move or have been took out ! I shall tell owner and let her ring anyway .
kcc
Sadly the little dog wasn't Kizzy, her owners were found but they have signed her over to the vets as they can't keep her any more. However, they do have a new owner lined up, so hopefully she will now find a loving, new home. Thanks again for all your support in looking for Kizzy - the search goes on!

Tansey
spoke to vets today and they would ring back if it was kizzy but so far no call thank you everyone for still looking. I do not know how to do it but could we put kizzy Lost page near the front again ?
kcc
I tried ringing the vets this morning and was told they would ring me back but I won't bother them again as you are contacting them yourself Tansey and they have Kizzy's microchip number from Jayne, so if it's her, we'll soon know, although they do seem to have a potential owner - hope it's your mum! No matter who owns her, I hope she makes a full recovery poor little thing :-)

Have rung the vets with Kixxys chip number and left our contact details for kennels to give us a call.

thank you so much we will ring the vets anyhow today to rule out either way.

Thank you charlie and will continue to look.

Try sending posters out to all dog groomers salons and mobile that you can find through phone book, they'll notice markings or any new dogs going to them. Hope she's found soon.
Tansey
Thank you will pass this information to owner.

Maybe worth giving Thurrock police a call as they have rescued 75 dogs from a travellers site today. Wish they would just list them all with photos on this website may help to reunite a few more.
Tansey
I have asked owner to go and have a look at the photo lets just hope they catch the little dog anyway and it is safely home. I agree could have been taken there and not wanted and dumped as Happiness says !

thansk for call today and yes still looking thanks for putting up signs for lost Kizzy in Whipsnade.
Tansey
I understand what you mean but I think Kizzy was well known and her owner to all the locals but it would be great if she showed up somewhere! Still Searching !
BorderCol
I am wondering if someone fairly local might have " rescued" her, not realising she was regularly tethered to the gatepost because she likes to be out the front?
BorderCol
Any news?
Tansey
Thank you Sophiesuds will pass this on to the owner tonight when speaking to her.
sophiesuds
Have been thinking of other avenues kizzy maybe noticed. How about groomers locally, especially where ever she was normally done. Also try contacting Johnathan Vernon Smith on three counties radio, I know you say you have contacted them, but Jvs has recently got his own puppy and would be interested I'm sure in the tree cutting people's involvement and would phone them for you too as well as get the police more accountable as he hates injustice! Worth a pleading email at least to him, as he also tries to see both sides of travellers and does know some too.
Tansey
Will check this out thank you so much for reporting it will call tomorrow if it is great if not we will keep looking but thank you again! x

The owner is still desperate to locate her dog and is offering a £500 reward for the safe return of Kizzy so please bring her back she is an old dog and means so much to her Owner. Please!

So sorry not to have replied to Fluffylegs' questions but I've been away and had a few computer problems.
Posters have been displayed in Totternhoe, Billington, Studham, Dunstable Pets At Home, Sainsbury's (if they displayed it) and hope to do Tilsworth and Stanbridge ASAP - I realise it's now 2 weeks but been so busy. I've emailed poster to lots of doggie contacts and friends for their Facebook pages and to display
Owner has been in Leighton Buzzard Observer and Dunstable Gazette and on 3 Counties Radio. I have registered Kizzy's loss with Petlog, MK Dog Watch, National Missing Pet Register, Central Beds Dog Warden, www.animalwardens.co.uk, Icknield Vets (Luton, Dunstable, Harpenden), Ark House Vets, Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable Vets for Pets and many more places that I can't remember.
Kizzy doesn't have any major medical problems but her skin gets irritated by grass, so owner gives very small amount of antihistamine.
Kizzy's owner is obviously still very distressed, I just wish we could find Kizzy safe and well.
Thanks again for all help and support
Tansey
Kizzy still missing and we are still searching thank you for your help everyone.
Tansey
Thank you everyone we are still desperately looking for Kizzy and hope that she will be found soon and re-united with her old Owner. Thank you again.
sophiesuds
I postered the Main Street of totternhoe, especially bus stops and shelters, cross keys pub, I have seen posters in pet shop at leighton buzzard, handed in posters to morrisons and tesco at Leighton too. A few posters in Billington near the car boot sale and gave poster to lady on gate Sunday. Didn't manage to go to boot sale yesterday unfortunately, I think some areas of Dunstable have been postered too I did the bottom of the downs, and someone has done green lanes.
After speaking to owner she is convinced the Tree services people are involved in this, and her daughter has even spoken to them but to no avail. I personally think police should be doing more, but need to locate where they are based. Did wonder if police videod the raid that took place last Sunday at Little Billington site as I would imagine if so they would see dogs in background etc. really think it should be part of routine to check the dogs microchips on these sites whilst doing these raids. I can only suggest leaning on the police more as they don't seem to be doing much if anything.
Unknown
ANY MORE NEWS????? PLEASE COULD PEOPLE INDICATE WHERE THEY HAVE PUT POSTERS AND ANY PUBLICITY THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE AS HAVE NOT BEEN AROUND THIS WEEK AND SADLY DID NOT GET TO BILLINGTON BOOT SALE. THIS IS SUCH A LOCAL VILLAGE SITUATION IT IS AMAZING THAT NOT ONE WORD HAS BEEN MENTIONED ABOUT A SITING...ALSO DO WE KNOW THE EXTENT OF KIZZY'S MEDICAL CONDITION/NEEDS???? AND WHAT MEDICATION SHE IS ON AND HOW OFTEN REQUIRED AND WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO HER SKIN WITHOUT MEDS... WHAT MEDS IS SHE ON???????
Tansey
Thank you everyone who is helping to find Kizzy we really appreciate it as you have guessed the owner is elderly so any help really appreciated lets just hope someone kind returns Kizzy or she is found soon as this little dog made the owner so very happy. Thank you everyone for your help.
kcc
Sorry but when I updated Kizzy's photo, it seems to have replaced the old one and I don't seem to be able to show them both - as you'll guess, technology is not my 'thing' !!
Thanks so much Fluffylegs for visiting Boot Sale - shame Kizzy wasn't there :(
Elaine: sorry to hear about your two little dogs - hope they turn up soon.
Thanks again for everyone's support

So saddened reading this someone knows something if you are reading this then please return this wee dog home to her family that's all she knows and loves x you are hurting innocent people for your own satisfaction some day someone will take away something or someone you love as karma always comes round xx so please hand this wee girl back xxx
sophiesuds
Hi Elaine I have also noticed this connection and when you read through others there are a few more with this happen in just wish someone would grab the bull by the horns and investigate, don't care if it's the police, the media, or anyone BUT someone should expose what's going on right under people's noses. Puppy farms also come into equation somewhere. Still look daily for your two too Elaine, they have to be somewhere and will turn up.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
I know I am along way off in North Yorkshire. But my two little dogs were stolen on 17th June. There was workmen in our area, fracking for oil and gas, they started the day my two girls went missing.
I did contact the head office but no joy. I really hope they all find home soon x

Have sent message to admin to see if the other photo can be used. Went to car boot sale, but no joy. Did make the lady taking the money at the gate aware and she said she would keep eye out for her. Told her there was a reward etc and gave her a poster. I believe the lady's daughter has spoken to the tree company, but from what I was told by owner soon after they had leaflet end the house the passenger of. Van was seen to get out and then sped off down road sharpish by which time kizzy had gone. Need to get the reg no of the van. Hope they leaflet elsewhere nearby and then we may know.Last edited: 2014-09-14 13:03:19 by sophiesuds

URGENT!!!!!PLEASE CLD SOMEONE ASK FOR KIZZY'S NEW PIC TO BE PUT ON THE POSTER AS WELL AS DETAILS AS IT IS A MUCH BETTER ONE FOR PEOPLE TO SEE CLEARLY. Thank you everyone who is helping with trying to find Kizzy and sadly it was not her on the internet photo spotted, however, lets keep trying please! We cannot thank you ALL enough for trying to help find her for our elderly lovely Mother. The daughters x
sophiesuds
Much better photo so hopefully that will help. We are not giving up!
kcc
Thanks again for all your help. Sadly possible siting found on internet was not Kizzy but we'll keep looking. I'm unable to go to boot sale tomorrow as involved in Fete & Dog Show at HULA Animal Rescue. I did mention it to Kizzy's owner and hope she'll go along.
Hope new photo helps and thanks again everyone :-)
sophiesuds
The posters I put out don't mention reward as they were printed pre-reward, but the ones I placed in McD and garage I hand wrote it on in large letters but I think that made it stand out in fact rather than be just part of a lot. Of typing. I wrote it under her picture hoping it would make it grab people's attention. My main concern now is the Sunday boot sale tomorrow as we know time is of the essence. I can't help thinking the tree people could well be involved, especially as if they only have a mobile no it's more likely to be travellers. Hope I'm wrong but I do know the lady and her family really appreciate all everyone is doing for them.
Unknown
I left a message for ACORN AS FAR AS iknew them to be same ones asking for information as they were in the area.......is the reward on the main poster now? will see what I CAN DO EARLY TOMORROW
Berts mummy
I postered up in Green Lanes this morning and handed out flyers to dog walkers that I met. Hopefully she will be back soon.
sophiesuds
Evidently the collar and lead were both a yellow/straw coloured when kizzy was stolen.
sophiesuds
Thankyou😉
Gino
Have passed your email onto the email address given by owner...tx
sophiesuds
Have you got a clearer up close picture of Kizzy as I have just found a dog which looks similar and isn't too far away on the internet. Rather not say more at the moment but if you can send it via email along with the colour of lead and collar I may have something. I presume admin for doglost will let you have itLast edited: 2014-09-13 00:48:23 by sophiesuds
sophiesuds
By the way I only know Hulas involvement was on their website I think they mention that she's missing . May go upto the shop in wing and ask them to put poster up to prick someone's conscience maybe? Could a neighbour not pose as a potential customer for the tree company and then get vehicle reg which may lead to something for the police to follow up?
sophiesuds
Can't find an acorn tree services local to our area on search engine but there is an acorn garden services, based in Wing, where there is also another travellers group. Will keep looking for tree services just in case.
sophiesuds
Yes the McDonald's and garage which head towards mk and leighton near new estate. Funny you mention the tree services vehicle as these are usually travellers and recently on the site have noticed that workman have been involved in a lot of dog napping or thefts through tout the country, I know the Hungarian vizla missing suspects this and others but in a different region. The car obit is held every Sunday and Thursday morning on the corner of the Billington turn towards mead farm as you come down the bypass from totternhoe towards leighton. Maybe worth a phone call to police or council traveller warden to see if they will visit the site to look for Kizzy. Another option would be to contact three counties radio on Monday as I know Roberts likes dog stories he's on at 3 til 6 but hope we have found her by then
Unknown
Weve all been out then...did 50 tonight about 8.30 some on DOWNS CAR PARKS BUT nt will take them down but put on poo bins...also bottom of downs and top of green lanes, also ASDA CAR PARK BUT ONLY BY TROLLEYS AS HAD RUN OUT.
Well done nabbing police. I LEFT MESSAGE FOR ACORN TREE SERVICES WHO WERE DELIVERING CARDS IN TOTTERNHOE WHEN KIZZY WENT MISSING. Owner said she would go don to the school this morning and ask the Head to speak to the children. The info seems to have changed as saw earlier that HULA are involved...is this the case???? TAKE CARE BY GIPPO SITE...IT NEEDS SOMEONE TO GO ON THERE. BUT BETTER IF IT WAS POLICE..THERE IS A CRIME NUMBER. ALSO WHAT COLOUR AND TYPE IS LEAD AND WHAT COLOUR IS HER COLLAR AND DOES SHE HAVE A DISC. WHERE ABOUTS IS CAR BOOT AND WHAT TIME???DO YOU MEAN THE MCDONALDS AND GARAGE ON THE CORNER WHERE ONE ROAD GOES INTO leighton buzzard?????
sophiesuds
Have been out again tonight dropping off posters but also drove past the travellers site in Billington, but there isn't anywhere to really poster so that it's in their face sort of thing. Someone has already left a couple of posters enroute to their site so hope they suffice. Did however come up with a brain wave, further down the busy bypass is a petrol garage and McDonalds I know they use especially at weekend! So both the garage and McD were happy to put the poster n their window to make more people aware. By pure chance there were also three policemen in the garage from Beds police so they were made aware and given a poster to take back with them! A good evenings work I feel, so let's hope it all works now.

Another idea is there is a car boot in Billington Every Sunday morning which is very popular, just down from travellers who I know also frequent the place so if someone can even just keep their eyes peeled or better still get some leaflets out whilst there it would really make little kizzy too hot. Unfortunately I'm committed Sunday this week. Will keep thinking of other ideas if I can. I did also poster at the bottom of Dunstable downs so more people are aware at the top of the hill.Last edited: 2014-09-12 22:17:41 by sophiesuds

Thank you to everyone who is helping to find Kizzy on behalf of my elderly Mother my sister and I really really appreciate this as this little dog means the world to her.
sophiesuds
Dropped posters at ark house vets in lb and said to let you know you can add details and photos to their facebook page with their permission. Don't understand facebook but if anyone does and needs details then let me know please,
.also dropped poster at Harding and NG vets.
Any advice yet about Billington?
sophiesuds
Have given poster in to tescos at leighton buzzard, hope to do the vets next
Berts mummy
I will take posters 'up the hill' to Green Lanes on the edge of Dunstable. I have already spoken to all the dog walkers that I met this morning.....just in case the poor little thing is abandoned up there. Are we allowed any clues as the which area of Totternhoe she went from? Its a very long village!!!
kcc
Wow, thank you all so much for your help. sophiesuds is correct that owner is elderly and I am her next door neighbour, trying desperately to get the word round as far and wide as I can. I have contacted Dog Warden, National Missing Pet Register, newspapers, vets, Pets at Home, Dunstable Sainsbury's,etc. etc.
Everyone's help with posters, etc. is so very much appreciated, thank you all.
I'm updating poster with a few other points now.
Unknown
Thanks will contact dog warden and also TAKE poster to Appledown..got involved with dog fire disaster at manchester dogs home all night terrible...just need to raise awareness in Totternoe as not clear where abouts the lady lived so maybe thats why people dont know....wont duplicate your postering but your BILLINGTON THOUGHTS maybe on the ball????? Julie from Appledown will know best way to approach....will go down at 11 then poster around..
sophiesuds
There is a lower school in the village only, but senior school children should see posters on the bus shelters. No shops but a village hall which wasn't open when I was there last night. Maybe worth posturing pets at home and supermarkets in dunstable as most village people shop there or leighton buzzard. The few people I spoke to last night totally unaware of any missing dog in the village so
really need to make her hotter.
Presume as owner is older she's relying on someone else in respect of computer access etc.
There is a traveller site further out of the village in Billington which has a bad reputation I believe, so maybe a few posters near there would help.
Unknown
Hi I have 50 posters to put up. I AM PUZZLED THAT THERE IS NO SOUND OF ANYONE HAVING SEEN KIZZY BEING WALKED FROM HER OWNERS GATE .IT SEEMS THAT THESE ARE WELL KNOWN IN THE AREA AND ALTHOUGH I DONT KNOW WHERE IN TOTTERNHOE THEY LIVE IT FEELS THAT KIZZY WOULD BE A KNOWN DOG. i AM ASSUMING THERE IS A SCHOOL IN TOTTERNHOE...WILL CHECK AND IF SO WILL GO IN IN THE MORNING AND ASK IF THE CHILDREN CAN BE ASKED IF THEY KNOW KIZZY........WILL TRY AND CATCH THE SCHOOL RUN. EITHER SHE HAS BEEN TAKEN AS A PRANK OR MORE WILLFULLY. IS THE DOG WARDEN AWARE?DOES ANYONE KNOW?
sophiesuds
Although I probably did do posturing I meant posturing of course, sorry, busy day.
sophiesuds
Have just returned from posturing around the village including cross keys pub, cricket club and every bus shelter as well as lamp posts and telegraph poles, hope this helps to get Kirsty back to her owner. Have also asked morrisons in leighton buzzard to display poster, but will also ask tesco and try to visit the vets in town too in the next few days. Hope it helps.

Sorry to see that KIZZY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (74818)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
