Hi all

Ali the dog warden here - I'm pleased to say that Onion is on his way to rescue as I type, he's going to Binfields dog Rescue - http://dogrescue.8m.com/bdr/ I'm sure if anyone is able to offer a donation to help get him neutered etc it would be gratefully received!

Thank you for all your help, I'm passing the rescue details over to the person that was interested and maybe they would be able to assist following fuller assessments.
The staffie problem never stops however and I have two new boys that will be adding shortly, please look out for them and share to get them somewhere safe
best wishes, ali

Alison, DW at Swindon has been in touch to advise me that they have a strict rule that they must follow with regard to children. They cannot release Onion where there are children under 10 without a rescue home completing a full assessment on Onion. I can fully understand this reasoning following a high profile UK case. So Onion needs a rescue space so he can be fully assessed and if on completion he fits the standards/ requirements our Foster/Adopter can apply to adopt Onion.
I will know more tomorrow morning whether a rescue home has been found to carry out the necessary assessments and if any extension of time can be given to find a rescue home for him. Sorry it is not the news hoped for but it is very important for both DW rules, Onion and potential Adopters welfare ... Thankyou to Animal Lifeline UK and Jemimas Place so far for their support so far
Let's hope we move from :( to :) tomoz Hazel aka @snowbirdie xx
angelina
Hi Hazel, amazing work with Onion. we may possibly be able to help re Homecheck. will ask in that area, what's the postcode?xxx
Ollie's Mum
I have been out all day but happy to read that everything has been sorted for Onion. I would have been available to help with transport to Wales. Hope everything is sorted tomorrow.
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Well you learn something new everyday hey!
Pleased to say we do not need the transport from Swindon to Jemimas Place Ollie's mum, so as much as we can do today is completed....I will speak with Swindon DWs first thing in the morning to explain situation and get some grace now we have RBU and transport up north. Animal lifeline UK will endeavour to complete home check during grace period ....we are getting there all! :))
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Thought to give everyone update so far....Long term Foster to Adopter has been found for Onion and I have the Animal Lifeline UK willing to transport him to his new home in Ackworth. Before this happens we need a home check so trying to find someone who can do this urgently. Jemimas Place has agreed to take Onion on RBU to save him from PTS if needed ...so if we need to take this route, I wondered if there is someone with transport (olives mum?) to take from Swindon to Jemimas Place in South Wales.
So we are hopefully getting there and I will ask Swindon if we can have a couple more days Onion grace as we are so close to achieving a new home.
If any small donations are required to make this all happen, I will let you all know
Fingers crossed for Onion xx
Esther
Hope this all works out ok

Hi Ollie's mum....it was suggested I spoke with you....Look like we may have transport with the Animal Team and we are waiting to hear re rescue space further north . Ryan the potential Adopter lives 190 mile north and so if It is a rescue space closer, it is easier to do home check / adopter check. Hope that make sense and will be back on the case letter this morning! Now for sleep! X
debbie
Has onion now been saved please as time is running out :( x
Ollie's Mum
I did a transport run for the Swindon dog warden recently and the kennels I picked the dogs up from was Charney Boarding Kennels at Faringdon. Maybe they could help.
BorderCol
Oh well done Hazel, that sounds hopeful.
Hoping there is a positive outcome for Dillon too.

I have spoken with Ryan, owner of Napoleon and he would like to adopt Onion. I cannot reach anyone on the number above but have sent an email to both Alison and Glyn at the Swindon pound hoping we are not too late if they pick up on Monday. Ryan lives in Ackworth and I wonder if anyone has a great idea how we can maybe send Onion to rescue closer so that Ryan and Onion can meet?
Any ideas much appreciated x
