For those who are interested, I was just looking at the SafeRescue list of dogs for adoption (most in Norfolk) and found...........Auburn is up for a new owner. If you want to read what has been happening to her (it is turning out well) find her on the list on here http://www.saferescuefordogs.com/dogs-for-adoption.html

Brilliant news! I can never get over all these petty people who abuse owners on Facebook and tell them they're doing it all wrong. So easy to be an armchair expert it seems. I'm really interested in Rays comment about builders mesh being used - I'm part of a team working at reuniting several dogs at the moment and any extra info or Heath Robinson type contraptions is useful knowledge. Welcome home Auburn!

How lovely that Auburn has been caught at last. Why some people have to be uncooperative and nasty is beyond me. I hope her owners can now enjoy her and Auburn settles back home quickly.

WOW !!!! Well, I've been following this one and she certainly had owners before who worked very hard at trying to recapture her but there was some enormous dispute with the person whose garden she kept returning to for food, who, it was alleged, was not keen on having her recaptured. Last comment I saw from the owners (a long time ago) was that they were not giving up on Auburn so I hope very much they have got her back as they sounded very good.
BigGSDPatlucky
She has been out on her own for all that time.
Did she have an owner please ?
BigGSDPatlucky
Has she got an owner?

Now time for Auburn to feel some love...#what a wonderful clever girl...she has stayed safe all on her own,and still looks amazing!...I really hope she accepts help and can relieve her stresses of having to survive alone and time to take a back seat...let them care for you beautiful girl#! Just brilliant...Well done all involved..you are amazing.xxxx

I've been following this poor girl on here, has she any shelter. A few bales of hay may give her some shelter from the elements.
Hollieberry
Pretty Auburn I do hope she can be caught she has been on her own for far too long x
mathers22
Hhenniegillam please don't think I was aiming my remark at you I meant the person who had stopped feeding her in her garden. I wasn't doubting you. I hope she is soon caught xx
Hhenniegillam
I am the dogs owner and trust me we are still desperately trying to get her home. I will only post once on here. The reason Facebook page was deleted is because of the abuse we received. Never have we stopped trying. We have tried everything and have spend £100 on vets etc to help us. We won't stop trying. But if a dog won't let you within 50 metres of them and stays in the open all the time it is very difficult. She won't go in to traps. I will post again when she is caught but I won't update all the time as all we get is abuse for what we are doing.
mathers22
I can't understand why there is all this unrest on here. I totally agree with what RAYDED says. At the end of the day how is everyone going to feel if it ends in tragedy !!
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
I totally agree every word you have said RAYDED, sadly I do not get any updates and no updates are posted on the facebook groups any more. I was rather hoping she had been caught by now and was safe but sadly by the sounds of Louanne's update this isn't the case.
Louanne
See Auburn regularly in her favourite spot, I'm not aware of the politics as to why she has not been caught, but can't understand why anyone would allow this girl to keep living rough??
RAYDEDICOAT
CORRECTION the dog mentioned was FETITA id 44107, shes been out over 3 years.Iknow they are refered to as STREET RUNNERS back in their country,,BUT they are NOT in their country!!!. and i for one find it very distressing to read and learn of their situation,, WHICH people in this country have put them in.not intentionaly so lets get together and SORT this one out ...
RAYDEDICOAT
I hope to god AUBURN has been spared the TRAUMA of firework fortnight!!!.WHY all the secrecy??... let some one help her, please.. i wonder if the organisation that originaly rescued her knows what she,s going through?? I must make a few offical enquiries.. I seem to recall another such case FATITA lost in WIGAN. come on folks lets get her caught, she can be argued over after.. the longer she,s out the less she will think of GOOD people. they can be won over and helped.
mathers22
Any news on poor Auburn please xx
Skywalker99
Yes, it does. Unfortunately I can not name her although I had worked out who she was before the page was taken down....clearly a teacup short of a set, needs a good talking to.Last edited: 2015-09-15 13:55:05 by Skywalker99
Hollieberry
Thank you Skywalker for the update ,it beggars belief that this dog is just being left without help.
Skywalker99
I believe the person who was originally helping to catch Auburn because Auburn was feeding in her garden stopped co-operating and then refused to continue to feed her. This person allegedly then started harrassing Auburn's owners and helpers whne they went to Mundesley to attempt to set up a new feeding station etc. If this happening then I do not know why Auburn's owners do not go to the police, or at least get her sent a solicitor's letter. The woman must be deranged to stop this dog being caught...from Auburn's FB page before things got heated and it was taken down she refused to follow ray's advice and did not act in Auburn's best interests....seems like she still isn't.
Hollieberry
Heartbreaking this poor dog can a tranquiliser or sedative not be used ?
mathers22
Totally agree with RAYDED this is about catching this poor dog not about peoples ego's. I am too far away but I agree azfter a year it's time she was caught. Leave it to the experts !!
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Do the Dog Warden or RSPCA have any say in matters like this, sounds as if somebody needs firm words from an official body that has some legal backing. Poor frightened little girl, would Bach Rescue Remedy help her,(just add to food and water) it certainly helped a rescue Dobie we adopted and also cured my retired greyhound of her fear of fireworks.Last edited: 2015-09-15 08:06:22 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

Well said Ray.
RAYDEDICOAT
What on earth is happening with this POOR ANIMAL!!!! from what i have been told there has been a clash of personalities, she is in the middle.. COME ON SHE,S BEEN OUT 12 MONTHS.With another winter nearly upon us it,s no way to keep this so-called ROMANIAN RESCUED animal!!! I have sent 2 different cage traps up there with the original family who adopted her, which was weeks ago.. By all accounts someone was deliberatly feeding AUBURN away from the trap and messing with the trap, I also believe another trap cage has been used and messed with. I never give up with these poor creatures, and i urge all parties to get together and think what this dog is going through MENTALY it,s not fair on her!! What happens if she picks up FOX MANGE or needs a VET..I know ALL these animals are all different charactors and tempraments and their situations are ALL DIFFERENT but as with most of them once caught they soon come round to our way of thinking. I have various methods of catching this sort of dog and i feel she has been badly let down! So sort the human side out and lets see AUBURN in the BLUE, and not RAINBOW BRIDGE.. 12 MONTHS IS LONG ENOUGH. sorry if i,ve rammbled on but it needs sorting.

Posted on facebook....

Auburn is still being fed regularly and is eating inside an enclosed area but due to the location new lights have been fitted. Again stopping her from eating for several days. She is now back eating again. But one wiff of someone being about and she will not feed. Far to many people feed cats and foxes outside so she always has an easy meal to get. She is a very streetwise dog

Is there anymore news on Auburn?

Its been a while since the last update and without a Facebook page to follow I am wondering if there has been any positive news lately.

Holly
Been following Auburn's escapades since the beginning, hoping she would have been caught soon, so really sorry to read what has been going on. It's beyond comprehension really and I hope things will be sorted out and Auburn will soon be safe and sound and not wandering any more.
Unknown
Such a shame about Auburn's page. i do not know the facts but there was photographic evidence on there which suggested that Auburn could have been caught by now if the feeder had done as recommended. None of what happened was in Auburn's interest. It might be an idea to re-instate Auburn's page as a group where Hennie has to approve people to join, this would enable easy communication with those helping to catch Auburn. Oh, and don't make the posts available of anyone to comment on if you do this!
Ninja - Area Volunteer, Lincolnshire
Auburns FB group has been removed because things were getting slightly heated on there and it wasn't helping to get Auburn to safety.
Auburn is fine and things are still going on to get her caught.
Maybe message Hennie directly for any other information.
maxine
why has her fb page gone pls? we are so so worried..anyone help us here, maybe for dogs safety or ? we are so concerned, is auburn okay and what is going on ? thanks maxine
Unknown
From Auburn's FB page 'Well it's definitely official! The feeder is trying her best to stop auburn being caught. This evening auburn was being fed by friends of ours and then she turns up with her husband and chases auburn off! Time to get the law involved I think. Makes me feel sick that this person has been 'trying to catch' her for 9 months and fed us so many lies.' Nothing seems to be going on that has Auburn's best interests at heart. Surely if someone who has been feeding Auburn for 9 months starts chasing her it will upset Auburn and make her more scared?
Unknown
Auburn fb ge says that the woman feeding her will no longer do so, so Auburns owns era need help establishing a new feeding station. Shame, and none of this is in Auburns best interests.
Unknown
From Auburn's FB page it seems that the woman who was feeding Auburn has stopped co-opertaing with her owners and is claimiung Auburn for herself, even though Auburn is not caught. This is not good.....
maxine
any news pls??

Update taken from Auburn's page.... Auburn is starting to trust the trap more and is feeding slightly further inside the trap. Great progress as it wasn't looking like she was going to give in. Next step is to keep moving the feed further in

Update taken from Auburn's page..... Auburn has stayed very local and is still feeding but she wouldn't go into the trap we had. We now have a larger trap in place and hope that this proves to be more successful. We are sorry for the lack of updates. We are still working on catching her but haven't been able to get much further so don't have anything much to update you with I'm afraid.

The trap has been in place for a few days. Auburn is now feeding from the entrance of the trap. Today the food was pushed back to see if she will go inside. Fingers crossed she does as trap will then be set at the weekend.

Latest update:
Auburn is being fed regularly in a lady's garden, she is still fearful of people, she is going into a cage and feeding in there. A trap will be put in place this weekend. She will probably won't come for a few days as she won't like the change but then hopefully will start to feed again. The food will then gradually move from the cage over to the trap and once she's going in the trap it will be set.

best wishes to you. She certainly is resourceful. Good that she keeps being seen and fed. x
shane2006
Thanks for the update Helen, do appreciate you are all very busy but there was not much news on here. Years ago we used a big cage from a circus and lots of tripe to trap a GSD with the help of a vet and a dog warden we sedated him and coaxed him in, consequently I kept him for 13 years.
rottie
You need to get all human scent from trap, I struggled to catch a dog in one took weeks ,I was advices to cover the trap in non human scent, I covered it with Stilton cheese, rubbed it all over entrance, I then got an old blanket another dog had layed on and put it over the top of the trap, wish you lots of luck, entrance of trap is where I concentrated on , I was a little smelly after but was worth the smell!
Holly
Wish you all the best in your efforts to safely catch Auburn, it could take sometime if she is wary of the trap but fingers crossed you get lucky soon!

Update on Help find Auburn page dated the 4th of January.
Auburn is still being fed everyday buy a lovely lady in the village. The cage is in place but it has been observed that Auburn will not going anywhere near it. We are persevering with this route though so just wish to let people know that things may be quiet but we are still working to catch her and get her to safety. Please rest assured that we take all of your input seriously and listen to everything said but we are being advised and have to be selective on the advise given (after all this is the internet!). We do not follow every page on facebook so if anyone has anything to say that could help please post here. We understand that everyone is concerned and we are too but remember that she is a street dog who has survived -20 degree winters in Romania; she is clever and resourceful. To all the offers of traps etc we already have a trap which was used back in September at another feeding station - again she would not go in it. If we could wave a wand and have her home we would and she certainly wouldn't be on the streets but unfortunately this is a difficult situation with no real easy answer. We will continue to try and keep you all updated but please respect that we all work full time. With this as well as trying to catch Auburn, the facebook page sometimes gets neglected.
maxine
on help find auburn page says she went missing from a garden 14th september at 9pm. latest info from a lady mentions two recent sighting on water lane and wellesley close, i dont knwo where these are and have asked, she was disturbed and limped off looking very weak??? this info has not reached here? who lives in this area who can help follow up, clearly needs a group of committed few to follow, is she is so weak and slow, then i am sure she could be caught, it says she looks unwell...if so, then the winter has taken its toll and its a matter of time before she really? does fade...not sure why these postings are not reaching here?
maxine
she will be micro chipped from romania. does the feeder need any addditional help from others in the area please? thanks
maxine
we have a cctv camera if you need it feeder.....please can i ask where in romania auburn came from and how she disappeared in the first place from adpter/foster carer/shelter...just wondering if kelly hare of safe rescue can offer any help as she is based norfolk way please? thanks maxine

Shane we have certainly not given up on Auburn and never will.
Since the trap has been placed in the area (not set) the lady who is feeding her hasn't seen her, food is still being laid and taken so this kind lady has bought a wildlife camera and is setting it to see if Auburn is taking the food during the night.

This may be totally irrelevant, but my husband came home from work late last night and said something ran across the road in front of him, he said it looked like a dog, he said it was a bit bigger than a fox and paler in colour and hair was much bushier looking. We live in NR29, I thought I would just have a peek on here to see if a dog was missing it could be? It ran across the road which runs between Stokesby and Runham. I am going to check out this area today when I walk my dogs. xLast edited: 2014-11-14 11:57:49 by SharonJ

All the change and movement will unsettle her and push her away, but I am pretty sure she will be back if the stations is continued. Hope to see her safe soon.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Yes Spindle this is being done, she was feeding from the station regularly and the trap was in place but she has now started to move around the area, there has been shooting and farmers ploughing so we are wondering if this has unsettled her.
Spindle
Is there someone local who can set up regular feeding station for this dog? Maybe then a trap can be set up.

SUE WOOD has asked for the following message to be passed on to those searching for this little soul:

Can some one pass on this message to the kind folk looking for this lost soul:

I wish you luck. It took a while to get Jessie safe. various feed stations. Then managed to get down to just the one. The dog trap Sadly did not work. Jessie was far too wise. We ended up building a walkin enclosure out of boundary link fences. The type builders use. It took months. far longer than I'd have liked. Plus I had a great team helping me. Jessie came to the uk 6th Dec 2013. went missing 18th Dec 2013. Finally caught August 29th 2014 some 8 months later. Please take a look at her story on facebook Jessie our beautiful Romainian Stray. If I can help in anyway please contact me. I'm certainly no expert, just a animal lover. But maybe just maybe something I say or suggest may just help. I had a drive around the area yesterday and talked to dog walkers and left contact numbers in the cafe in Mundesley (where we had tea and cake :-) ) This was before the sighting was known.
