Unlike Owl, I don't personally know the new owners, my only knowledge of them has been through posts here and FB but I believe this lovely lad has well and truly fallen on all four paws with that family.
Well done and thanks to the kind lady (Michelle) who found him on the streets and kept him safe that first night, then Putson Pet Supplies for their continued care of him, Norfolk Terrier Rescue and all the other concerned parties, and now his new (and last) forever family. So many people have cared about this boy, it is really heartening amongst all the dreadful stuff we hear.

Afternoon all! Today is a very sad day, I said goodbye to ruben the lovely little Norfolk terrier that was found wondering the streets of hereford with no owner looking for him! But he has now gone to a lovely lady who lives in Yorkshire that is connected with Norfolk terrier rescue and has Norfolks herself. I know he has gone to a lovely forever caring home and will get the best attention that every dog should have! It really has annoyed me that the very last owner hadn't bothered to come forward and say that they have lost him or didn't want him or whatever the reason was. But even if you 'don't want' a dog what kind of person just let's a dog go!? There is people out there that will take dogs in if people can no longer care for them. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me, gave me support and done everything they have done to help me with ruben. You guys rock! Norfolk terrier rescue and all the volunteers, workers and everyone else are amazing. They are definitely one of the best rescues around that care 110% for every dog! I will still be in contact with the lady who now has ruben and will be sent pictures and updates on him. Any updates I receive I will post on here to keep you all updated to, you've all been amazing. Thank you all and bye for now ruben, you will always have a place in my heart 💙

Hi all another update on ruben!
He is still currently at my place with ME. I have been told that someone has contacted petlost and told them that they have ruben with them. This Is not true!! I have managed to get in contact with the son of the very first owner of ruben who reported him missing however she has passed away. The son gave ruben to his daughter who recently gave him to a lady down here in Hereford. I have spoken with a friend of the last person who had ruben who lives by tesco express on holme lacey road and she has said that she rehomed ruben about 2 months ago. I am going to pass all this information on to the dog warden, rspca, vets etc because something is not right. We have many dogs in Hereford that go missing for a few hours and the owner always comes forward. Hereford isn't a big place, everyone knows of everyone so I'm really struggling to get to the bottom of who he DID belong to and why they haven't done anything about him being missing! I've been told to take him to happy waggers by many people but I have many rescue centres working on this case and they have all told me to keep him with me until things make more sense. The dog warden is aware that I have him so I shall just wait for him to call and see what he says. Ruben is a little dog who loves being inside so the last thing i want to do is take him somewhere where he will have to go outside in a kennel. If anyone knows of anything about this dog please please let me, the vets etc know!"

It appears that he had a bad fit on the 1st December whilst he was being groomed. He was taken to HOLMER VETS for observation and treatment and returned later to Putson Pet Supplies. Thank you so much for caring for this sweet boy and keeping him out of noisy kennels, particularly if he is prone to seizures. x

Do you have a name for the son? I've done a family tree over the last few years and have had some success in finding living relatives. 192.com is a good source to try.

I have taken landline number off as the owner of this number is getting lots of calls. She only took this number over last December so it would appear that these owners have moved on. Its a shame we did not have the microchip number but i do have one method i will try to trace.

I live in Penygroes and will make some enquiries, see if can find any more details. If my memory serves me correctly he was from Gate Road when he went missing before.

Do you know where about in Penygroes the owner lived? It is a very small village and a very typical Welsh community where everyone knows everyone elses business, my Aunt and Uncle still live there. I could ask them if they know who the lady was or who her son is x

have now managed to access the finders page and it says: We still haven't tracked down his owners however I have been told by various different people who live in Llaneli that they know the dog and he belonged to a lady who sadly passed away. I've been told that the son was left with the dog but he now lives in Yorkshire. So I'm guessing that this little lad was sold on. As you all know this dog has a microchip which is good as it's now an legal requirement that all dogs are chipped BUT it's a bit useless when people/ new owners don't bother to change the details. We are now trying to search for the son and will do our very best to get him back to hopefully his family who are missing him until then he will be at our house with me and my dogs getting lots of fuss and attention!'

Pen-y-Groes where Ruben went missing from has a facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/Penygroes-Carmarthenshire-178042245539869/ perhaps finder could post on there in case someone knows something? and any other local pages. I can't access finders post to comment to this effect.

We don't have an email address for the owner of Ruben. The report was phoned in. We usually get the email address when the photo is sent in but sadly that didn't happen hence the reason we used a similar photo.

That's not quite what it says, it says the finder has rung all the numbers provided by petlog...presumably admin at Doglost could email, or someone could send a letter to the registered address?
It is worth searching for registered owners on 192.com...or even see if an address can be found in the 'phone book on bt.com.

Sarah - according to facebook links that I was reading this morning, the found dog mentioned by Belle below is Ruben but no-one has been able to contact his owners, not even the microchip company.
