I know it's a year ago that Fennel went missing but I've just seen an advert on Facebook that I don't like the look of..I haven't asked any questions and could be completely innocent but someone in York is giving away puppies free and the picture of a puppy is remarkably like Fennel with the same markings. There isn't a picture of the mum sadly. Would obviously be a new litter but if Fennel was my dog I might be inclined to check it out, even if it is a long shot:

Please check this found one out. Found in Wales and says been used for breeding. http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=89811#.VbI-vNJVhHw Comments off the doglost...Update so far, have spoken to vets, as has the lady from Doglost. They will NOT give any further info other than the general description. No chip number, names, nothing. Please forward info to anyone whose dog this might be. They will have to contact vet and confirm info on chip themselves. This is not one of the three stolen from Deenethorpe.

24/07 update: Chip number defunct. No-one at address (note left) and dog hasn't been to local vet (that she was chipped/registered at) for a long time.

24/07 update#2: Dog warden has seen the dog now~been used for breeding, doesn't know what a lead is and is very nervous etc. She will have to do her 7 days in pound, but already has a rescue place lined up.

There is a lady on FB called Jeanette Brown who mentions a dog that looks very similar to this at a lake in Leighton Buzzard. They say very thin and weak and looks as though been out for awhile

I am thinking same as comment below. Sometimes they stick an odd photo in of different dog to confuse markings so don't be fooled, usually a blurry photo.

can Fennel's owner check the one out below - looking quickly the white markings don't appear to be on her head however it may be dirt covering any white. Also only Fennel's owner will know whether Fennel has a patch on her side which shows clearly on the found one. This one has also had pups recently I would think.

The theft of Fennel has been circulating on Facebook for the last few days, I will also add her to DogLost Leicestershire, Doglost Notts and Derbys, DogLost Central and my own to help get the word out further to make Fennel and her puppies too hot to handle.

I hope this lovely girl is microchipped and that whoever has her brings her home or hands her into a Safe please xxx are there any CCTV in the area she was stolen x and finger prints on and in your van as if the doors were licked they would have had to break in x

• If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
• A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (75464)
• Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
• You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
• Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
• If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
• If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
• Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
