Even though it wasn't Kizzy this time, I am so grateful that people still remember that I am still looking for my Kizzy. This beautiful girl that has been found, has a three quater tail, but believe me, she could be Kizzy's twin! For ever grateful to Doglost, Kizzy's mum.xx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Kizzys Mum. I'm so sorry that this found Springer wasn't your Kizzy. I recognised her dear little face immediately when she was bumped up. I still look at ALL B&W Springers that I come acorss on my travels. One day, eh...? Perhaps these latest posts and people new to the DL site might help bring you some good news. Always, always, always hoping that you will be reunited with Kizzy one day.

Dear Val, Like the others I still long and hope and pray that you will be reunited with Kizzy one day very soon. I came across a note today (when looking for something else) I made about the possible connection with the nearby saw mill and without even looking on DL saw Kizzy’s lovely little face in my head. Unusually I haven’t been able to access the internet for the past 2/3 days and so have missed these positings. Whenever I see anything about found Springers your Kizzy always comes to mind. I always check because I would know her face anywhere! I do hope that our collective thoughts brings you the news that you long for. Thinking of you and your Kizzy... x

Thanks for the posters Jo, I've sent them on to friends and family and asked them to do the same. If helpers looking in to this site could do likewise we  could cover such a wide area. Having spoken to several spaniel owners, while walking my dogs, they've asked me about groomers, can I recommend etc (my two being Schnauzers have quite a complicated trim) So I conclude that Spaniels need to be nicely trimmed for this very mucky weather. So Grooming parlours etc would be a good place to target. I will be putting a poster thru the door of local places and it would be great if other helkpers could do the same. Kizzys mum, I understand you need to know where she is, I would be devastated if one of my girls went missing, but wherever she is and whoever has her now you know she is loved and looked after, nobody could fail to absolutely adore her.   If anyone looking at this site now knows anyone in Essex area, it would be helpful to send them an e mail or put a poster in with their Christmas card and send it now !! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just over 2 years since Kizzy went missing now. Val is still searching for Kizzy and is desperate for news. She is grateful for everyones continued help and support and I know everyone will continue this until Kizzy is found. Val did receive a call this week from a man claiming to have her 'piebald' dog (obviously a man connected with horses as this is used for black and white horses).....he left a message on her a/p. Not a particularly nice message, no additional details as to where abouts he was. May have been a wind up - we all know how sad and hurtful some people are - but a bit strange after 2yrs......so please everyone (and I know you are anyway) be on the look out for dear Kizzy.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am relieved that Kizzy’s mum has been in touch.sorry it wasn’t Kizzy, thought it probably wasn’t although her expression is so similar.   And most of the rest of her too!   Anyway, it could have opened a can of worms, so       But next time it may be a different story.   Be safe lovely Kizzy xx

Please check 14397 English Springer Spaniel registered on 24/07/08 in Reunited section.   Kelly, Dog Warden, found this dog wandering in the street and she has been claimed by her owners.   She bears a resemblance to Kizzy but I’m not sure if Kizzy has a docked tail - this dog does.   Don’t want to get your hopes up, she does not appear to have such a white muzzle as Kizzy but photos can be deceptive... and her expression is very similar.wherever you are, be safe, lovely Kizzy xx

Sorry about the fire, the main thing you are all OK. I know its a year on the Friday of half term. If you won't to do anything in Thorndon on the day, ie: show her picture in the car park, just let me know and I can give you a hand. If I remember they had something on for the children that Friday, maybe it will be the same this year.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sure you're well past all of this but just in case...Hi, My springer was stolen by Travellers in very similar circumstances in April near Kettering. So, firstly, chin up: he was found but it took a lot of effort. Contact local TV, radio & papers All three were brilliant in hosting interviews, telling the story and giving publicity. They ran stories free of charge and offered decent prices on adverts. Absolutely crucial in finding our dog though was the Northamptonshire Community Traveller Unit, part of the Northants Police Force ? you need to find the one in your area as they go onto all the sites regularly. And posters are so important ? every lamppost, pub (rough!! where dogs may be sold in the car park) , park / dog walking area, vet, dog training group, gypsy camp gate etc. There are so many people who want to help, it's actually quite moving. Don't wait for a ransom demand to come in, in case it's not coming. Be proactive now and also contact specific organisations dog breed organisations plus all the usual people who are out and about in the locality everyday like milkmen and postmen (postmen deliver to traveller camps and ours put up posters in the sorting office for all their colleagues to keep and eye out too) etc. And most important of all, ring all the dogs homes and the general police stations FRONT DESK (not the general number that covers all of them) EVERY day. Ditto the Council Dog Wardens for the surrounding towns. They all have a very poor logging system and it's just best to ring them every day to remind them of the crime and where they can find you as and when they turn. Don't rely on them being efficient and logical. It sounds harsh but they have lots of people vying for their attention so make sure you just keep yourselves in it. Also local NFU branches, Country Stores etc. I think that's everything. Good luck. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've been thinking about Kizzy today - don't know why her lovely face came to me (hope it's a good sign) and so I thought I would check on her page. I'm glad to see that you are still making sure everyone doesn't forget that your girl is still out there, and just waiting for you and her to be reunited one day very soon. Will the papers cover her story again - STILL MISSING, etc? Might be worth pestering them again and again and again!!! Any joy at the wood yard? I think of Kizzy often and can't wait for the day when her lovely little face is surrounded by the colour blue. Please show your face Kizzy - we all so long for you to be back at home with your family so that you can meet your new 'little' sister, Ellie!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My god, that wood yard. talk about confrontational. they were not helpful at all especially when i told them of my suspicions, that some one in the wood yard may know something or even better, saw something that would lead me to kizzy. Brentwood gazzette have contacted me and are going to feature kizzy again this week, i hope they mean it. it comes out on wednesday.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

At last I,ve managed to access this page. Please thank Ron for what ever he can do for Kizzy. As with the rest of Dog lost helpers I am so delighted knowing Fable is home safe, healthy and now so very happy. The Thordon Saw mill (WOOD YARD) at the mo is a priorty. Some one is taking down Kizzys posters that I have repeatedly postered. A PERSPEX covered poster is maybe the answer. I will be trying that asap. We are going to re poster around Brentwood area very soon.xaxxxxxx Thank you to every one for not fogetting about my darling kizzy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Kizzy's Mum. Like paul the vegan dog lover I also make a regular check on Kizzy's page and long for the day when she moves across into the blue area. Good to hear that Kizzy has made it into the local newspapers again. Well done for not giving up because, as we all know on this site, it only takes that one phone call to set the wheels in motion. Often thinking about you and Kizzy and hope and prayer you will be reunited one day very soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I am not at all familiar with the area so sorry if this is way off but there is a black and white springer on the found pages today - it has been seen running around an industrial estate in Leics - very nervous. The sex is unknown. It was first spotted on 22 Apr. Worth looking into as the description says "youngish". xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bit strange I,ve put a couple of messages on Kizzy,s page within the last couple of weeks and they have dissapeared! Any way, we were in the Brentwood Gazette, a really good article, but unfortunately, there was no response to it. Dunton Boot Fair is now huge, an ideal place to hand out flyers, that will be done as soon as i can. Thank you so much to Jerrys mum. Not surprised with the gazette they do this to my school a lot. Just saw Look East News a lady lost her two dogs out of her car 10 months ago. She got one back in a couple of weeks found dumped on the side of the road. With the other one she put an ad in the free papers and put posters up as you have. As they are free ads maybe you could put them in more locations, she got a phone call from a man that had bought her other dog from a game bird show. Most of Kizzys posters have gone from the Avenue including the one from outside the wood yard (I still think someone there or a driver has got something to do with this). So keep your chin up alls not lost!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's good to hear that you are still getting calls about Kizzy and, OF COURSE, one of those calls will be THE ONE you are waiting for. Have you read Lottie's Reunited story. As with Lottie's owner, your determination and tenacity will pay dividends in the end. Has your Kizzy been featured in the Countryman? If not, ask Admin whether she can be featured. Your Kizzy has such a distinctive (and beautiful) face, I'm sure eventually it will jog soemone's memory. Just keep up the good work and I hope that the article brings you the news you have been waiting for. Good Luck!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I presume your dogloving MP is Andrew Rosindell. Is that so? I recall that whilst campaigning during the last General Election, he owned a Staffy, who I believe has since died (although I might be wrong). He's seems to be very good about animal-related issues. I thought he might even be able to help regarding the security of railway lines, especially as dogs such as, Pirate the Staffy, have lost their lives on busy computer routes close to his Constituency. Even if he can't help to make them more secure there ought to be strict guidelines on what the maintenance staff have to do when one of our much-loved companions are found on the tracks. Kizzy's Mum are you booked in to see him at one of his regular Advice Surgeries? Our MP is also a doglover. Theresa Villiers (I believe she's a member of the Shadow Cabinet) has also become very involved in dog issues, including the DDA. But I know that the most important thing for you is to get your Kizzy back where she belongs. Hope the interview went well today.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

it was not kiz at crays hill, went back and actually saw the jack russell and the springer spaniel. There were 3 houses in the thorwood area with the number 26, that were made of red bricks and i knocked at all 3 last night.didnt mention the physic angle , just asked if they had seen a spaniel in the area.unfortunately we had no luck. did put an A3 poster backed on vivid orange surround, right outside the gate that the police use at harlow police station. hopefully that may stir them up.yASA TOLD US OF SPRINGERS AT GEMINI KENNELS. THEY HAVE 2, WELL ONE NOW BECAUSE WE HAVE DECIDED TO HAVE THE LITLE GIRL. SHE HAS HAD A ROUGH TIME AND NEEDS LOADS OF LOVE.FOR A FEW MOMENTS I FELT SO GUILTY THAT WE HAD DECIDED TO HAVE HER,BECAUSE SHE WASNT KIZZY, BUT I WILL ALWAYS SEARCH FOR MY BEAUTIFUL KIZ AND I,M HOPING FOR SODS LAW THAT I WILL FIND HER AND ,HEY WHAT THE HECK,3 DOGS WOULD'NT BE A BIG DEAL, WOULD IT!! The physic thing, weather it works or not, you have to try everything, like it or not because that can work. Weather you look on it as a gift from god, or a tool of the devil, if it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't. But whatever is the case, you must keep possitive.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kizzys Mum - The psychic lead sounds interesting and I agree with Elf that it's really worth investigating. You know my opinion of the Harlow business. I blitzed that area first with the faxes etc. as there is something not quite right there but it's just my gut feeling and no evidence. I called today but you are probably at work (in case you wonder who the missed call is from). Will catch up later. Take care - Katie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi there i think you have to take every bit of help you can get,i hope the psychic lady has brought a new lead.I too feel kizzy will be found safe and sound.Wouldnt it be nice if every police station had a dog lost helper they could report all dogs too.Iknow they seem they cant be bothered with dogs, and if we cud take the burden off of them it would help everybody. They wud have to contact one person and they cud inform so many organisations.Just a thought but wouldnt it be good.cum home soon kizzy, xxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do police stations not keep a record book of dogs that come and go from their stations with a description, breed, colour, date /time in and out and the outcome. If they don't I really can't understand why. If they can take the time to record the details of a mobile phone or umberella handed in then why not someones much loved dog. Hope the physic info leads you to Kizzy, I don't think you griping at straws, you never know ! Good luck with you letter Debbie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's good that Kizzy's story will feature in Countryman's Weekly. Someone has got to recognise her soon as she does have very distinctive facial and body markings (and pretty). It will click with someone soon that someone they know acquired a ESS around of last year. Hope that the Crays Hill connection sheds some light.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kizzy's Mum I really feel for you. I have been following Kizzy's story since the beginning of November and you so deserve to find her. I agree with everything Katie (Titania777) has said. You have never given up on Kizzy and I hope and pray that your wish to have Kizzy back home with you will be granted very soon. Katie's also right about the wisdom hindsight and how many of us have said those words 'If only'. Try to put those useless negative thoughts to the back of your mind - I know it's easier said than done but just try. Come on Kizzy - please show your beautiful face cos there are so many of us waiting to see you in the Blue.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kizzys Mum - Keep your chin up - I'm still covering the area we discussed. It's slow because I'm calling them first then faxing but at least then I'm sure they will use the posters. Stop beating yourself up re the chip thing. My Mitz wasn't chipped until just after I became a Dog Lost helper as I too never realised what went on. Kizzy may not be chipped but you are doing so much more than a lot of owners of chipped dogs. (Stands back and waits for abuse)!!! Its so very easy to look back with hindsight. You have never stopped trying and never given up - so hats off to you girl!!! Will carry on and I've done a new poster that says 'Still Missing' as I know some are going to people we originally covered. If u need a chat pm me and I'll call you. Take care - Katie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank god doglost is back. surely we are eternally grateful to the team that saved the day! I cant remember all the lost messages but all i know is that i am so thankful to all you doglost helpers that are trying to help me find my kizz. And so to last week end. i went to woodgreen animal sanctury in cambridgeshire. quite a long journey but i was sure it would be worth the effort. well firstly they had no records of kizzy being missing, even though i had telephoned them at least 4 times and then a young receptionist, more or less indicated, that because kizzy was'nt micro- chipped how could i expect to get her back. As I told her "it was the biggest regret of my life not to have gotten her chipped," i walked away before i would have given her a tongue lashing with a few choice words thrown in.Then i cried.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there a 'dedicated' Travellers' Liaison Officer at the local Council who is in contact with this particular site? And, yes I do think that they would be interested in a reward. I don't suppose the ones with the large, new, flashy cars are necessarily at the bottom of these thefts but their 'offspring' are likely to be involved. I am pretty certain that a couple of hundred pounds would come in handy as far as a youngster or teenager is concerned!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

stopped postman out side travellers site to give a poster to. he advised me not to go into the site under any circumstances,so i postered the lane, the kennels and the school. dont think any thing will come of it so i,m going to go back with bigger posters underlining the reward! still not very hopeful the cars and trucks that went past me in the lane look quite expensive, would they really be interest in my reward of a few hundred pounds.?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Kizzy's Mum! How did you get on at Crays Hill? I've seen the site on the telly & in the newspaper. It's quite a big place isn't it? Did you stick loads of posters up alo around the area offering a nice, fat reward? I know you shouldn't encourage them but I would do anything to get one of mine back if they went missing. Let us know how you got on cos we're all rooting for you & Kizzy. I do hope it's her turn soon to be transferred to the 'Blue area'.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The easiest way to get to that site if you are coming from Romford way is to go along the A127 southendbound & at basildon come off at Gardeners lane which is opposite the KFC on the retail park, follow the lane along past Kingstown kennels which is on your right, not far past the kennels is a turning on your right called Oak lane, turn into this lane & the travellers site is a little way up on the righthand side, you can't miss it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Crays hill is on the A129 between Billericay and Wickford, infact it is almost into Wickford. If you take the A129 from Billericay it goes right through Crays hill, about five or six miles from Billericay. Once you get into Crays hill, you'll see shops on both sides of the road, as well as a pub and a cafe I think. I do not know where the travelers site is but the shop keepers would know. The village of Crays hill is right at the top of a very steep hill, on a sharp double bend. If I remember correctly, this site was on the bbc last year, and in the local evening echo. I think they wanted to buy the land they're on, and there was local opposition to it, so I would think anyone in the area would be able to tell you where it is.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There's a travellers site at Crays Hill. I don't know exactly where it is, other than around the Billericay area - it is within the boundaries of Basildon Council (you probably already know that Fred (missing ESS) is from Basildon too). Apparently the site is quite a large one. I'm still posting for Fred - maybe get a posse together and blitz the area with Kizzy and Fred's posters. I'm available if needed - Janice xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster outside all schools, community police officers, cabbies, all shops, white van/ delivery drivers, postmen and offices, binmen, recycling men, bus stops, pedestrian crossings (put poster above where you press the button to cross), train stations, parks and leisure centres. I'm so sorry to read that you are feeling down - not unusual at this time of year but I do understand what you must be going through. Like I've said before (and as with many others that are following Kizzy's story) I am always hoping very hard indeed that it will be Kizzy's turn very soon in the Blue. I may have missed the posting, but did you ever get an announcement read out at half time at one of your local football matches? It's all so maddening to think that she is out there somewhere & possibly no too far away. All we need is that one possible sighting or bit of info. Come on Kizzy - show your pretty face. Kizzy's mum i'm still checking up on Kizzy, and still have her poster in my car. I urge anyone who is able to put a poster in their car to do so as i'm always having people look at it and ask me about Kizzy. Your thoughts and feeling are so understandable under the circumstances. I even feel sadness and dissapointment every time I look on these pages and I don't even know Kizzy. The 100 posters is a really possitive step. Don't know your area at all just took the phone number off the web site. So many pictures of re-homed dogs I wonder if any are on our missing lists ? It would seem likely don't you think, it would be good to have a notice board for general messages wouldn't it, now I sound like I'm criticising this wonderful site which of course I'm not, just the technology ! Don't know how or why I sent two messages the same either. Good luck finding Kizzy she looks absolutely beautiful. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was postering in Brentwood this evening and a lady told me she had seen a dog looking like Kizzy in the Warley area, which is not for from where she went missing. Unfortunately I could not get any specifics from her like where she saw the dog, but Warley is not a large area, so if anyone is in the area perhaps they could check all the usual walks, wooded areas ect. I have not been up there myself yet as it was getting rather late, but will go up there to take a look around myself later today.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I wondered how the search for Kizzy was going. I check every day, always hoping that I will find her 'in the Blue'. Did Kizzy get a mention at half-time at any of the local football matches last weekend? I suspect they will be playing immediately before and/or after Christmas and so try to persuade them to highlight your plight. Having said that, I'm hoping that she will be back in time to enjoy some turkey with you. Please come home Kizzy, it's about time that you were back at home with your family!!! been knocking on doors in harlow looking for the dog, the police said, who passed through harlow police station, supposedly similar to kizzy. from the entire block of flats that are called 'the lawns', only 2 people opened the door! so no joy there. been to a travellers site in wickford, been notified of 3/4 springers definitely there. typically nothing to be seen when we went there. will be popping there in the week. I'll be on school holidays soon so will be able to check on posters around the brentwood etc areas.x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I texted my brother, the mini cab driver today & he texted me back. He has received the posters you sent him & has put some up. He hasn't said where yet but I suspect that he's put them up in the cab office where he works in Basildon and the 2 hospitals at Basildon & Orsett. When I next speak to him, I will check. It's bad news that the football games were called off & that, as a result, the appeal for Kizzy wasn't announced at half-time. Hopefully, the weather will be okay this weekend. Still hoping that Kizzy will be back with you in time for Christmas and preferably before then.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have telephoned and e.mailed the Brentwwod Gazzette regarding doing an article on Kiz, they were not interested. I even added how kind the children were in my school with their little presents and cards of godwill they give/make for me. But still no. The Romford recorder did an article in the first week of Kizzy going missing but they will not do a follow up at all.The Basildon Evening Echo will have an advertisment this week in it, following up next week in the Basildon Weekly recorder. Been to The Lawns tonight spoke to some youth's(they seem to know who, what where and why) they put me intouch with a man in the flats who has a dog. He did have a springer but a liver and white one. He has seen a black and white springer onthe estate, he is going to check it out for me. Another eventfull evening just hope something comes out of it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have read on Pirate's page that the Ilford Recorder (circulation 15,000) is going to cover Pirate's missing story (picture of the kids beside Pirate's empty bed - a tear jerker!). Surely, if you call the Romford Recorder and the Brentwood Gazette & speak to the right person, they would cover Kizzy's missing story, especially as she has been missing for over 6 weeks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good idea that charliedog, but as my printer is currently unavailable I cant do that. What I can do though is e-mail some vets in the area. Kizzy is on my blog and people have seen her picture there. I just looked in the yellow pages for the Brentwood football team, and I believe there is one but I could not find it. But there is one for Hutton on 01277262257. Also there is one in Billericay on 01277652188 and 01277655177, and another one at Barnston football club 01371876364. In the meantime I'll dig out as many web and e-mail addresses as I can and send some posters that way. It also wont do any harm to try the radio and tv stations again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can't understand why they have removed your posters from Thorndon, you must be very angry with the wardens. I went to Hornchurch sports centre and noticed quite a few posters around the centre, so they are still there. Thornden is a busy place for dog walkers etc and as its the place that Kizzy went missing you really still need them up there. Is there anyone higher up than the warden who you have spoken to who may be more helpful! I have also had an idea about posters. I am quite willing and I don't know if it has been done before but how about asking all your helpers to put a poster of Kizzy on the inside of their car window. As long as they were positioned carefully not to obscure vision it would be a good way to spread the word further. A poster could even be done to half the size. Just to let you know I haven't forgot you or Kizzy. I search the lost and found dogs on the internet most nights on lots of sites. I have also been checking the dogs for sale on the internet just in case someone trys to sell Kizzy on. My Dad gave me an article which was in Fridays mirror paper about a stolen dog that was found with the help of a psychic lady. She was able to tell what area to dog was in. Through following the psychics leads she found the dog who was now living with a couple who bought him in good faith. She is now reunited with her dog. Just thought I would mention it as another avenue. Take care Debbie.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any news on Kizzy? I've just read that Murphy, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross has been found after going missing on 20th October (I've been following his story as well as Kizzy's). Dani, the owner won't know for certain until she sees him tomorrow but, fingers crossed, it's him. Like you, Murphy's owner has been beavering away, along with help from the Doglost team. And so, what I'm saying is that keep on doing what you are doing for Kizzy. It's just got to be her turn next. Hopefully, you will read Murphy's story in Blue tomorrow but a lady who happened to read Murphy's missing poster put two and two together & as a direct result of her phone call Dani has hopefully found Murphy. Good idea to poster Gallows Corner. From what I remember from my years spent living in Essex, that was a very busy roundabout. Definitely worth the risk! What a good idea. Hope the Brentwood Gazette comes up trumps with a good story on Kizzy. We'll have to make sure that nobody buys anything from the Kebab trailer. Shame I don't live in the area cos I would make a point of telling why they wouldn't be getting my custom in future. As you say, Kizzy's Mum - (bloody) miseries. Would the police not help to trace the mobile number that you had the call on ? has anyone called it back ? have you called Gemini Kennels at Wickford ? also travellers site at Chelmsford called Lady Grove, worth getting back to dog wardens both Brentwood and Chelmsford they may help you re travellers sites. Also there was an attempted theft of a doberman at Thorndon a couple of weeks ago from a vehicle might be something you can take up with police at Brentwood. There is also a travellers site at Noak Hill where I stopped once ( being nosey ) as they always have a sign up for puppies they had a variety of terrier type pups, spanials and lurchers I looked at four litters with no problem, they even gave me a mobile number (which I have still) of the chap to phone re pups. I had no intention of buying but got to see all of their dogs as young girl showed me round which gave me time to have a good look. But they seem to like breeding working type dogs. I hope you can find Kizzy soon xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've sent an email to my brother who works for a mini cab company in Basildon & we have just spoken on the telephone. Being a cab driver & living in the area (Stanford le Hope) he knows the area around Thorndon well (he even knew the field that people speak about with the strange scarecrows!). I've given him Kizzy's Mum's telephone nos. just in case he spots her or hears anything. He has friends who own 2 labradors & walk their dogs in that area. He promised to tell them all about Kizzy. He's not got a computer & so I am not able to send him a poster but I told him to look out for the posters that have already been put up. He knew about the golf course near to Thorndon but mentioned another in Brentwood called Memorial Park (he thinks). He also knew the Crays Hill 'travellers' site but the cab company prefer not to do business with them as they don't always like to pay! He said he would call me again hopefully over the weekend & I will ask him the name of the cab companywhere he works so that maybe somebody could them in a poster. His partner works at Basildon Hospital - what about a poster there if anyone can manage to get there. I'm no expert but just read with interest, how some of the DogLost Helpers throw themselves into finding dogs in their area. Do you feel that you are getting enough help? I couldn't help but notice that you haven't had time to target the shops in Brentwood. Isn't there a Helper near to you that can do this? It seems that a massive poster campaign is key so often in finding lost dogs. We found our cat this way when our vet lost him from the vet surgery! Lots of friends (& complete strangers) joined in the search for him. He had never stayed out overnight cos he wasn't allowed! He was a very nervous cat & only loved my partner & I. Between us we stuck posters up all over the place, hand-delivered some through doors and told everyone I came across. Boris (the cat) became quite famous & we were receiving calls of possible sightings several times a day (& we're talking about a small & very nervous cat here). Our Milkman took one back to base, our Postie took one down to the local sorting office and we covered local schools. And what about local traveller (or gypsy) activity. We had business card-size coloured photos done (just on plain A4 paper - you get lots to a page) & on the back I listed our contact numbers. Our vet did these for us but I think he only went along to a local Speedy Photos-type place. People talk about contacting their local Council & speaking to the Traveller Liaison Officer. Do you know is there are gypies in your area cos there's certainly some close to us. Why don't you speak to Emma or Jayne at DogLost for further advice. I just feel that you need just a bit more help, if that's available, Everyone talks about scent trails & leaving out a bit of clothing with your scent on it. Have you done this? What about asking the local football club (Brentwood or Romford) to make a half-time announcement? Do they hold speedway events in Romford stadium or other sporting event. Is there a nearby bowling alley where people travel to from further afield. There Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Back over Thorndon today, I must admit that I have been having the same thoughts about someone taking her. If this is the case I think you need to apeal for her return. She could still be in local area with someone, or a little further afield. She is your dog and if someone has her they need to know her place is back home with you and how much she is loved and missed. Will have a good look today and ask people over Thorndon to look out for her. Take care and let us know if you need anything doing. Debbie xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Katie . I will certainly e.mail Paul O Grady. Been putting leaflets n houses around Thordon(Herongate) that back on to the country park, but after speaking to some local people they assured me that local people would have telephone the council or the police if they had seen/had her.So I think now I'm realising some one may have stollen/ taken her from the park. . Received a booklet from the Kennel Club with all the rescue centers in. Did'nt know there were so many, I wonder if any check, dog lost ,when they get a new dog in .It would save worried lost dog owners, a lot of time. Meanwhile I'll start to ring them. Kizzys mum. This is a real long shot but there is a found black and white cocker spaniel bitch that was found in Chadwell Heath. I always think its worth a call because they could have made a mistake thinking she was a cocker, I dont want to build up your hopes but you never know. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Looked in woods/ golf course all day. put posters up spoke to everyone i could. came home 5pm. telephone call lady said, her neighbour goes with his springer at 7.30 to park, lets it run about on its own. this may have been mistaken for kiz. Telephone call from Barking Police station tonight. Dog foung answering Kizzy description. Flew to Barking like the clappers only to fing a little Cocker Spaniel. She was beautiful a little over weight and about 6/7 years old. The council workman was still with her, who had found her, and he said he had taken the dog to 2 other stations and no one would take her.Barking could'nt accomodate her either. He was'nt sure what to . do with her. He'd had no joy with the r.s.p.c.a. either . He was going to take her home and ring Battersea. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How sick has somone got to be to do a thing like that? When I read about things like this, I cant help thinking how would these idiots feel if they were on the receiving end of this kind of maniacs sick depraved antics? If the people who did this were to go through the pain that Kizzy's mum is going through, how would they like some idiot to play some sick joke on them? These people don't seem to realize that to lose a dog really hurts, that it is the same as losing a human member of the family, because they ARE to animal lovers a major part of the family. I really hope whoever did this gets what is coming to them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Only a very sick idiot would take any pleasure from causing extra pain and suffering to a family already distressed by the loss of their much loved dog. Do you have free papers given out at train stations and on the local buses, as these are read many times over by commuters and people riding the bus.? ( In my local area its called the Metro) If not postering and handing out mini posters at train stations (or close by) and bus stops at busy times might jog someones memory. Fingers crossed that Kizzy is safely home again very soonxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What kind of vile & warped lowlife would do something like this? Clearly, someone who leads a very sad existence. Best to just treat it with the contempt it deserves but always hoping that he gets what's coming to him in the very near future! Kizzy's Mum - just concentrate on finding your girl, knowing that many other (much, much, much nicer) people are rooting for you. Kizzy's mum, Have been out looking this morning walked down the lane past the private houses found a trail that lead down the back of the manorhouse/golfcourse. I kept calling Kizzys name. Found the field with the scarcrows and looked at the fields beyond. Everyone who I spoke to had seen the posters. We also saw a lot of poster everywhere we walked so there are a lot still up. A lady with a little Jack who lives near the near the scarcrow field told us her and her son are looking every day. Don't give up hope ! DebbiexxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a possible sighting of Kizzy in a field very near Thordon. The person said she saw a dog similar to Kiz looking very dirty. The field has strange looking scare -crows in it and can be seen from the A128, near two mini round- abouts. We searched in the fields around there, till 10pm last night, but saw and heard nothing. Put posters up in Common road and Priests Field, renewed the poster in Ingrave petrol station. Hi kizzys_mum, I still have Kizzy on my blog and am looking for her, just a thought but have you tried dogs trust? They used to be known as national canine defence league. I have a link to them, http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/. I would not worry too much about a rescue putting her to sleep, they normally only do that if an animal is seriously ill, uncontrolable, or has been so badly neglected that the animal just does not have a chance of a good quality of life. And everyone can see that those things do not apply in Kizzy's case. The rescues never put a healthy animal to sleep. If she has gone to a rescue, they will contact you. You said she is tagged, or failing that she will be rehomed with a family or there are many other charities they could pass her to, like guide dogs for the blind, or hearing dogs for the deaf ect. But please don't worry about her being put to sleep, you can rest assured that wont happen in her case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Battersea have got the posters now so if Kizzy has not previously been reported they will contact you. Will continue in local area and will take extra posters for customers and staff to Battersea next week (worth a try). If you let me know who you have already contacted I will start emailing posters to vets, rescues etc that you haven't done yet. I've given posters to Tesco, Sainsbury and Parcelforce delivery drivers for their staff notice boards and will make some phone calls today to some other contacts. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I couldnt agree with you more about a central system especially in this day and age of computers. I am also sure that a delightful dog like Kizzy would not be put down if she had found her way into rescue. You must recheck areas she went missing in and just keep postering and informing all the vets . Make sure you phone kennels every day and any dogs similar please check out in person as much as you can . Good luck , hope to see her in Blue soon. ChrisxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so scared that a rescue center has had her for the last seven days and now they can sell her or put her down. Even though I have contacted all in our area, and more, I wish there was a CENTRAL rescue center that would hold information of all dogs lost and found that all rescue centers had to make contct with. Thank you for taking the time to read this.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kizzys Mum - I'm still postering and the girl at Battersea lost & found already knew of Kizzy when I gave them some more posters, so that's good as if she turns up there she will be recognised straight away. I will be bringing home another dog that I'm adopting from Battersea in the next two weeks. He has behaviour probs so I'll be at home more (with Dandy) so can help with emailing and phone calls if you need it. Will let you know when he is here and you can let me know what you want me to do. Have you thought of contacting the Paul O'Grady show? http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/P/paulogrady/getintouchhome.html Another Doglost owner (Buster SO40) has recently contacted them so now may be a good time. Also it would be good to promote Doglost as they helped to get Bruce Forsyths stolen dogs back and maybe this would also be of interest . Just a thought. Katie xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
