- Have heard back from Rex's owners and sadly not a match.

- Thanks Niki and Bobble for contacting owners and ARC rescue in Devon who have a very similar collie picked up as a stray. Looks like Rex may have tried to find his way back to original owners. Fingers crossed.

- Please check email and text as regards to a possible match.

- One found by dog wardens Pembrokeshire area - could you take a look. So very similar but is it close enough?

- When they have been lost a while the usual tools and signals we use go out the window. Now it is a case of following up on sightings and then we can move onto the next step.

- He should know his name and the whistle was what he worked too! He was so timid though so other dogs may grab his attention. No sightings recently. Just seen black and white dog in south West so going to call dog warden now.
- 2014-11-08 10:44 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Out yesterday around the fields and quiet lanes around the back. You can get a good view across the surrounding fields. Calling ,whistling. Nothing. I know he is unlikely to respond but just wondered if he knows his name and if so would he be more likely to respond to this or a whistle or perhaps a special high pitched one for sheepdogs. Would he respond to other dogs? Clutching at straws I know but happy to try anything.

- Went out with my dogs this evening at dusk to have a look around one of the many wood/ copse near millfield. It is very close to the sports grounds . There is another copse closer still which I will also try.

- Been out for a look around millfield grounds and the woods and fields backing up to it . Just hoping I may see a pair of eyes in the torch light but sadly nothing. Has there been any sightings lately?

- This is my first chance to post anything today. I live in the EX15 area. I've put out a couple of posters. Also I was in Tiverton yesterday and drove A38 to Taunton today but no sightings. Now I see there was has been a sighting.
- 2014-10-20 18:40 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- :Can a feed station be set up in the school grounds or the equestrian centre? Strong smelling food taken quietly to same place same time by same person each day? Put food down, walk away and watch from distance. No calling or whistling, sit quietly and watch to start with till feeding pattern established.

- Bumped due to sighting
- 2014-10-20 17:19 JO
- Been a possible sighting at Millfield Equestrian Centre at 8.30am this morning monday 20th october. Been and blown whistle again and had a look about but no sighting.
- 2014-10-20 16:21 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Posters left in Compton Dundon, pipers mill junction, Ashcott , along the A39, Bawdrip and Walton. Had another scout around butleigh on way home. Did the person who saw him at millfeild see him head off in any particular direction. Could he be hiding out in butleigh woods which I think backs onto millfeild sports ground. If he ran from babcary to millfeild , he would have probably taken this route. He could certainly remain there unseen .Has anyone any knowledge of the woods.?

- Jasper: That would be great, old owner was out there looking yesterday, but I don't know if they postered at all. I have had alerts sent out to that area too, again, not sure. Unfortunatley, I cannot get up there as the clutch went on my car on the way back from looking Thursday night and found out about the car journey Rex took on Friday.
Anyone able to go out and help search, please work down from the motorway towards Street, without a sighting this is our best option at the moment. - 2014-10-19 16:40 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Ok. Do we know if that area/ or that side of street has posters? Don't know that area well but happy to take a drive over that way .
- 2014-10-19 15:14 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- Jasper: If you are able to go out again, there is a strong chance he is travelling along the A39 corridor towards Bawdrip. Without another sighting it is hard to establish, that seems the most likely if you are going out again.
- 2014-10-18 19:09 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Just back from a jaunt around kingsweston Barton st david butleigh and around back of millfeild. Posters absolutely everywhere but added a few of my own as well. No sign of Rex sadly but did rescue a stuck sheep! Just hope for a sighting soon.
- 2014-10-18 15:58 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- Thanks Alison for looking up all those postcodes and sending out further alerts. Hoping for another positive sighting.

- 2014-10-18 12:51 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- Thanks Poochpal, I am asking for alerts to be sent out to that area now you have confirmed my suspicions too.
- 2014-10-18 11:48 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- The sighting in Street could indicate that Rex is back tracking the route taken when going to Babcary which would have been via M5. Very worrying if that is the case. We need more sightings as he could by now be anywhere along that route. Can anyone take posters to service stations/garages along the route?
- 2014-10-17 21:33 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- I don't understand what the confusion is here? Rex went missing from Babcary, near the A37. So our search began in that area. Owner changed the details when he was sighted in Street. So those of us out looking have been concentrating on the lanes and footpaths in the area around and Street, without loosing site that he came from Babcary.
However, owner has now added that he has brought to Babcary from Tiverton and suspects he may be trying to get back to his old home. Sighting in Castle Cary was a false alarm. So far the only sighting has been in Street a week ago, which from Babcary is going away from Tiverton. - 2014-10-17 21:14 JO
- Yes he went missing from babcary ta11 but we only had him for 40 mins before he jumped out our porch window and disappeared. From witherly near Tiverton.
- 2014-10-17 20:34 Spindle
- As per original posting, Rex went missing from Babcary.
- 2014-10-17 20:08 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- Bumped due to Press coverage, he is on P 80 of the BVM today.
It would have helpful to have had the information that he comes from Tiverton sooner, however, so far he has travelled away from Tiverton and he may well be disorientated by now. It would really be helpful though if anyone can poster anywhere between Street and Tiverton.
- 2014-10-17 18:55 JO
- Thank you so much for all your efforts i really think he is trying to head home to Tiverton. Lets hope he makes it safe and sound. :-) x

- The wonderful Blackmore Vale has put article in re Rex with photo that came out today. Hope this brings calls.

- The Senior School, Millfield is at Butleigh Rd Street BA16 OYD. They are aware of Rex and there have been no further sighting since Saturday. We really need another sighing to work out how and where he is travelling.
Did a loop last night A37, up the B3151 to Street and Millfields playing field end, back via A361 towards Glastonbury. Via Pilton, Ditcheat and Evercreech. Quite a few places able to stop and walk across fields to look for signs of activity etc. Nothing. - 2014-10-16 20:35 JO
- No its the other side of Butleigh nr street. The main school
- 2014-10-16 18:37 JeanC
- Where is Millfield senior school? King weston?
- 2014-10-14 16:56 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- Sorry to see it was a false alarm. I came home that way around befroe I knew and have to go to Wells tonight, so will leave early and divert towards Street via back roads and have a look wherever I can stop.
- 2014-10-14 13:10 Spindle
- Jo have sent you tel numbers by text. Back to drawing board then.
- 2014-10-14 12:51 JO

- Praying he keeps well away from the motorways and fast roads. Hes a collie, hes clever will avoid noise and stick to fields.
- 2014-10-12 17:15 JO
- been to the school and had a search but no luck have made security aware and left messages with ground staff and equestrian lot. Also have been for a drive and whistle and been into some farms. Husband going to go out again at dusk. think he may be head along from street towards m5 direction so am going to put poster up that way in the morning.
- 2014-10-12 14:44 Spindle
- Possibility of Rex being spotted yesterday by Millfield Senior school. This is only 7 miles from where he ran from. Please do not chase just call immediately if he is seen.
- 2014-10-11 08:36 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- Just come back from Baltonsborough area and no sign of Rex out that way. I'll also go back out after breakfast and put some more posters up on the A37 Shepton Mallet end. Saddly there are not many opportunities, but the ones I put up before are windblown and damp, so will refresh those and suggest others consider refreshing any put up.
Beajayblue: Thanks for the offer, if you could keep spreading the word and whenever possible walk in the Babcary direction/area. No sightings yet to work out where he will be moving. - 2014-10-10 18:33 beajayblue
- Anything we can do to help at happy landings then just ask, we are sharing and telling everyone. Posters are fab.

- Unfortunately it is too far for me to keep going out, I have searched down from both the crossroads at Keinton Mandeville and no sign. This area needs postering please. It is vital to spread the word by postering and ensuring that people know he is lost and not just loose if they see him.
- 2014-10-09 08:01 JO
- still no luck thank you for your help we are keeping our fingers crossed that he is curled up in a barn somewhere with all this nasty weather!!
- 2014-10-08 14:55 Spindle

- Make sure the dog warden has been informed and also keep checking this site out as it's possible he may end up with them as SDK are contracted for Mendip area (ask the warden as well where any dogs might be taken to) http://www.lostdogsuk.co.uk/index.php?id=74
