Sootys owner - the found dog I spoke to about can be seen at this link Dog ID=11149. Found 20/10/07. Can also be found on Wokinghams Council site although on there they seem to have muddled the description up with the other greyhound found on same day. Fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sooty is another one in my area and I've had no email from doglost. Am I the only one having this problem? Hope Sooty is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sooty's mum, I've sent you an email as I've just asked my husband if he saw a greyhound at the kennels, and he said yes. Fingers crossed that this is your girl...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I haven't seen her, but now that I am aware that she's missing and possibly in this area, I'll start emailing people. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

DaisyB had contacted me about a greyhound for sale in classifieds.co.uk. I've been in contact with the sellers - it's a female, white with brown markings - definately not Sooty. Also contact all the Greyhound Rescue Centres in the north and Scotland, as I'm sure she's no longer in the area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We received a phone call earlier today. The lady who phoned us last night obviously new the area well, and put out enquiries on our behalf. The dog that has been sighted is a working farm dog, belonging to one of the farms in the vincinity. Back to square one, but big thanks for those who have helped so far.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

good luck sootycomehome, pleased you had another sighting. By the look of things Sooty is hanging around the same area, very helpful. Do you know the various ways to lay a scent trail? If not please PM me. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I took another phone call yesterday evening. A greyhound has been sighted again on the Shap-Crosby Ravensworth road, near Harbour Wain Cottage. The lady saw my poster and phoned immediately. I headed down there straight away, but I couldn't find this dog. I'm going to try heading down there again in the next few evenings. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This one is up on Lurcherlink and Greyhound Gap, thanks. Greyhound Gap people always check Lurchersearch and Doglost records for any dogs which go through their hands.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fingers tightly crossed that the bedgraggled Greyhouund is Sooty and that she is safely home with his family very soon. Have you contacted Lurcher Link, as they have a missing dogs page and Greyhound Gap takes in Greyhounds from all over the countryxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We've just taken a phone call to say that someone has spotted a bedraggled black greyhound in fields between Shap and Crosby Ravensworth last night. We're on our way down there now. Wish us luck!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your messages and special thanks to Hannah for posting Sooty's details on her forum. Would it be possible for folk outside of the immediate Penrith area to look out for Sooty? We've been told that greyhounds can be picked up and moved out of the area quite quickly, so although we are still searching around Penrith, any help at all in the North East, Cumbria and Borders region would be especially appreciated. We're desperate to find Sooty and have her home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
