Thank you everyone for your help and support over the last 9 weeks, and for your lovely comments today. We still cant believe that we really have smudge home xx the best Christmas present we could have ever hoped for xx It will take him a while to recover, but with lots of cuddles and sleep and food, I'm sure not very long xxx I will continue to look out for all the many dogs still waiting to get home, and hope that many more will be reunited for Christmas. A little Christmas miracle; Smudge went missing from his home in Malton, North Yorkshire 9 weeks ago and today thanks to his microchip we were able to reunite him with his joyful owners. The best early Christmas present for everyone involved.

Looks like someone picked Smudge up last night from the side of the road, took him home and had him scanned today! Happy ending ❤️

Finally finally have internet up and running again. Thank you for all the messages, I will have a look at gumtree now ( thank you cassiecat ) x i have had over the last few wks. quite a few calls and messages which is great and have followed each one, unfortunately each one has been a false alarm with a very similar dog near by, but so great to know people are still looking out, and every single lead is worth chasing up xxx

There's. A similar looking dog in found section but listed as female found in South east. Very similar to Smudge has same stripe on its side too , have asked for clarification that it's female, but grey on face on smudge maybe different too. Please check for peace of mind.

There is a dog on the found section listed on the 14th October so a few days after Skudge went missing as male jack Russell terrier cross in nearby postcode, think actually near Elaine, says it is brown and white but has no photo, maybe worth following up. Just so you know whilst I search everyday for hemp and tinker on line I also keep a look out for smudge too.

I thought we had found smudge today at last :( had a phone call from a postman at 2 today, who had just recognised smudge from a poster, saying he had seen a dog the day before very similar, rather dirty and with a limp. So dashed over to Sutton under Whitestone cliff. And went door to door, finally found a lady who said yes the guys at the shop have him. A jack russell cross. Ran all the way there. The dog had been taken to the vets, but maybe older than the photo, dashed to the vets. Not smudge. Also another dog the image of smudge but a girl. :(. Oh well another day tomorrow xxx

Thank you, sent a reply to the message. Smudge did not have his collar on when he vanished from his garden.
Just back from searching for smudge. Had Another text from the lady. A dog very similar to smudge ( fingers crossed it's him) was spotted around 8.30 last night running on the road ( spooked by the fireworks from castle howard) through East Thorpe towards malton. Please keep a look out in that area. Thank you xx

We had a text last night, some one saw a dog similar to smudge running up the road at east Thorpe on way to castle Howard, North Yorkshire. around 8.35 pm ish . Scared due to the fireworks. Maybe heading towards the woods. We have had a look at 7 this morning, and heading back now, if anyone is in the area, please keep a look out, and if you spot him. Please keep hold of smudge and ring us. Have everything crossed.

The possible viewings of smudge have not really amounted to anything. We have put many more posters up, and continue to search. The Facebook page we have set up will be in the local paper tomorrow and the scarborough paper on Thursday, we have decided to offer a reward now which is on the new posters, and 10,000 business cards are on there way with information of smudge and the reward. Trying to stay positive, and searching constantly. Bernadette has been brilliant. Thank you x

***Had a possible sighting, after a guy saw the missing poster in a post office in rillington this morning. He thinks he saw smudge at the edge of the football pitch in west heslington ( scarborough rd ) sometime yesterday. We dashed and had a search around. But no luck. I have seen the Gazette and Herald tonight and read the story. It is heart breaking. I don't do Facebook, but would like my girls pictures on it if that is possible?
I will ring you tomorrow around lunch time 12.15ish if that is ok? I am still searching daily but I'm sure they have been taken out of the area. It will be good to chat to see if we can come up with something else.

Sorry to see Smudge is missing. It is quite similar to my two. They were stolen from Hovingham on June 17th. 17 weeks today. No sightings at all. Keep putting posters up. I am still doing that. I have also made a YouTube video to hopefully get as many people to see them. My dogs are called Tinker and Hemp. Please look on YouTube: Tinker and Hemp. I am praying we will get them home

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I have posted 150 posters around the area today, and knocked on every door in low hutton. Until too dark to see. The same again tomorrow, posters in welburn, crambeck and pickering, thornton Le dale. Fingers crossed. We are devastated, and miss poor little smudge so much it hurts. He is only 14 months old. And has never been away from our side.xx
