I am so so sorry my heart sank when I read that Hash did not get home . I spoke to you early on when our details got mixed up and I was looking for a dog called cow who we thankfully was found after 4 months of fending for her self , I even followed and stopped a dog in walsgrave last week convinced someone could have taken him in . Poor Hash but at least you have some closure and the knowledge that your gave him 14 loving years of life with a caring family . Peace be with you and your family now kindest regards Jayne .

Hash crossed the rainbow bridge and raised to a higher being.

His body was found on the side of the rail tracks. A few miles away from home, and looking as if he was there for quite some time, possibly a few months.... He is at peace now.

Thank you ever so much to every single one of you who cared, shared, helped, kept an eye out for Hash and sent your love for him. XXX

Thank you Lola, what did the dog do after he sat with you? And did you notice if it was male or female? Thank you for keeping an eye open.Last edited: 2015-02-05 06:10:44 by Angel

Hi Angel,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you..
Anyway, I don't think the. Dog had a collar, but he may have been with someone there was a girl who seemed t be watching but did not appear to call him back or try and stop him. If he was wearing a collar it was black because I have a vague memory of seeing one on him..... but that could just be the photos
I will keep a look out
Angel
Hi Lola, thank you for the info. Was the dog that you saw by himself? Was he wearing a collar?
Lolathelostmaltese
Hi Angel,
Today I was I Abby feilds kenilworth and had a dog that looked like hash run over to me and sit on my feet,at the time I just thought I might have seen a dog like him on tv or somthing but now I think about it it could have been hash .....
Angel
Thank you Bonny, is not him. It's in Ireland, but is very similar and you never know, so it was worth a try.

And thank you Sophie, the dog you quoted was happily reunited with the owners soon after he was found.

Can you check out the dog recently found in TR14 described as black brown with white chest but no photo, on found section of doglost. Fingers crossed.
Angel
Hi Raf, sure, that's fine. Thank you to let us know. Yes, there is a chance that the dog seen in town could be Hash. It's gonna be a full month since the sighting and there hasn't been anymore signs or leads of a dog on the lose in the city centre, despite a few people checking around the site. Hash or not, the dog could have headed any direction and by now be on a different zone.... 13 weeks is a long time to be on the lose, many roads to cross... maybe someone did catch him and they are keeping him, and did not occur to them to call the dog wardens or pay a visit to the vet to get checked. Perhaps he has been found and scanned, but the chip is not working somehow and has been re-homed long ago. The possibilities and speculations are endless, but the fact is that after 13 weeks of gone missing there has not been a solid sign, other than possible sightings of similar dogs in random places. If only we could get even a vague picture or poor video of any of the possible sightings....xx
Raf
Hi Angel, if I text you my email address to the first number above, could you send me the version of the poster you would like to use, please?
I keep thinking that it's unlikely to see a dog without any owner in the city centre and if the one(s) that was/were seen looked like Hash, then, even though I don't want to raise my or anyone's hopes, I cannot help but to think it probably was....
Anyway, please let me know if it's ok for me to text you my email address for you to email me the poster, please...Take care.xxx
Angel
Hi Yorkie lover, thank you for your encouraging words. We have remained positive throughout the 13 weeks since Hash went missing, and continue to do so. However, we cannot be deluded, and have to consider every possibility, for as painful as the thought of some might be. Hash has been my inseparable companion for the past 14 years, since he was 3 weeks old. Giving up hope is not an option for us xx
Angel
Hi Raf, no, the poster we've been hanging on is the one we made. Have modified it a few times throughout different prints, by adding keywords like "lost/stolen", "big reward", "slightly deaf", etc. Thanks again for checking the poster in Xcel went up, and for keep helping since he went missing. Don't worry, we are far from losing hope, we are aware of cases where dogs turned up after months and even years of gone missing, and the fact that Hash is microchipped should help…. xx
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
Angel I've read your comment below x please stay positive for hash as no body has been found which would indicate he is still with us x the saving grace for him is his chip x so just hope that he gets scanned at some point during his adventure and gets home xxxxx
Raf
Hi Angel, Is the poster automatically produced by Doglost the one you want to print or is it slightly different? I think the one I saw is slightly different....?
I'll check with the Xcel Centre Manager then to make sure it did go up...
With regard to the police...I don't think I could change the outcome by any means, I just thought maybe if we asked again they might make an effort....I don't know....it possibly also depends by whom you find.....
Don't despair Angel....you hear so often of dogs that come back after weeks, months and sometimes years!!! As you say, as long as he is not suffering and is being looked after....
Hopefully poor Harvey's case has thought a lesson...
Please let me know about the poster....xxx
Angel
Thanks Raf, a lady at the Westwood Health Sport and Conference Facilities said she will hang one of our posters at the Xcel Leisure Centre, as she was heading that way. So in theory, they should have one already on.

Again, at the police station in town, they took our details and said they will call us in around an hour to let us know if it could be done, but 10 days gone and we have not heard from them. Therefore we can assume it wasn't a positive answer. They would probably tell us the same thing no matter how many times we go and ask, but it won't hurt to re-try. Thank you for offering to come with us, do you think you could influence a different outcome?

Yes, it's worth to poster the city centre and the more we are the bigger the area we can cover, so thanks a lot again Raf, and everyone who's helping postering and offered to join a search. We didn't have posters when we went down town to search around the area of the possible sighting. And we have just a few left from the Westwood search. Keep running out of ink every time we print some dozens of posters. Do you know any printing place that could print a few hundreds for a decent price?

It's 13 weeks since Hash has gone missing.... when we are searching areas of possible sightings, I keep getting this feeling that we are just chasing the shadows of the wrong dog, another dog. On the 5th week, one day two different people called reporting seeing Hash that same morning, one of them saw him walking with an old man in Dunsmore Avenue, Willenhall; while the other sight was on the canal in Ansty, a few miles away from Willenhall..... There is an old man who walks with a GSD around this area, it looks a little bit like Hash from behind, but as you see his front side, it's nothing like him. However, to someone that doesn't know neither of the dogs, they could look the same. And as we post him on several facebook dog lost groups, the more chances we get of possible sightings, even though none of the sightings could be Hash.

We hope he is with someone that is nice to him and is well taken care of, and eventually take him to be scanned by a vet/kennel. Or someone see his picture somewhere and let them know Hash already has a family and are looking for him....

Many people have suggested that he has already crossed the rainbow bridge. One of them in particular, the mother and owner of Hash's brother (Sol), who has also a very strong bond with Hash. She believes he crossed the bridge many weeks ago, because she'd felt Hash's presence around Sol (Hash's brother) a few times.

We don't know what to think anymore. But we do know this, regardless wether he is still in this world or already crossed to the next realm, Hash remains with us through our hearts. And there is a possibility that he is still alive looking desperately for his way back home, so we cannot give up the search. Let's hope this is not another "Harvey's Law" sad story…….

Raf
Hi Angel, thank you. Is it worth leafleting the city centre (again to top up, if you have already)? I am happy to help,if you think this could be useful....? Also happy to go with you to the police station again to ask (again)....I'll also ask the Xcel Leisure Centre near Westwood school to display the poster, just in case....xxx
Angel
Hi Raf, hope you've fully recovered. Yes, unfortunately the sighting in St James Lane was not Hash. We still cannot rule out for sure the one in Westwood, but the fact that there are at least two similar doggies in the area, doesn't look too promising either. The police said they will probably won't go through all the hassle that involves just for a "dog", but they said they were going to ask to check and call us back in around an hour, but we have still not hear from them, and I don't think we will. No more sightings since the Westwood one. Thanks for caring Raf xx
Raf
Hi Angel, it sounds like whereas the dog seen in St James lane and maybe the one seen in Westwood might not be little Hash, we still have hope for the dog(s) seen in town....have the police given any more indication on whether they are going to look through the CCTV footage? Have there been any more sightings since?xxx
Angel
Lola, as stated on Hash's info, at the top of this page, he is microchipped.

I don't understand what you mean by "pleas join search and help us find Jim's"? Jim's?

Can you please let us know the full edit of the poster you want to do, so we can confirm is fine with us? Thank you.
Lolathelostmaltese
Hi angel I was just going to put 'hash may be in your area pleas join search and help us find Jim's

Also, is hash microchiped?
Angel
***Updates: After over 5 hours of searching and talking to many of the locals on the area of the last possible sighting on the NYE, this is what we have gathered.

A gentleman walking his dogs said he has seen recently a man that lives in the woods with a similar dog. But we couldn't find the man in the woods. The gentleman will keep an eye open when he walks his dogs and try to find the man to check if his dog is Hash. One lady said that someone living nearby has 2 dogs and one of them looks also similar to Hash, but they are sure is not him (from looking at the pictures). The Westwood Church and the Greek Authodox Church were closed, but we left the poster with a note through the box, hopefully they will hang it on their board. Posters left at the Westwood Cottage and Varsity. Allotments were also closed but hanged one at the door. Warwick Uni security have been alerted and hanged posters on the main buildings boards. So the main places (thank you again for the tips and help Captain) have been covered among others. Seems as there might be one or two dogs similar to Hash in the area.

By chance, as we got off the bus (coming back from the Westwood area search) in St James Lane, we walked right by the two gentlemen that Darren described with a dog almost identical to Hash, but smaller and full black face. So at least we can rule out Darren's sighting in St James Lane, unfortunately is not our Hash. After 12 weeks since he's gone missing, it feels as if we are just chasing ghosts and shadows…….

Regarding the two possible sightings of stray dogs in town, we've tried to get some CCTV footage to at least see if it was Hash, and even though by now he could be on a different site, it would mean that he has managed to stay alive this long. However, we are still waiting to hear back from the police, but is not looking good, as it's too big of a time window and involves too much work to cover everyone's face, but we will see.

Thanks again to everyone for your help xxx
Angel
Thank you Lola, that would be great. What do you want to edit on the poster?
Lolathelostmaltese
Hi
Angel would you mind terribly if I post a slightly edited version of hash's poster - just saying he could be in the area around outskirts of coventry and kenilworth as I know the area very well I thought if I post them through people's letterboxes they might look and realise they might have seen him because although people might have heard about him through social media some people don't do it and may have missed out
Thanks and happy New year
Angel
Thank you very much Captain for the very detailed and useful info. It's very much worth a try to go and search the area, even if it's not Hash, it could be another much loved and missed stray dog. I guess the person who saw the dog didn't have a chance to take a quick picture, otherwise you would have already mentioned it, but we have to ask. Will go to the site this afternoon x
Captain
Additonal comment re possible Hash sighting. If Hash was seen around Queens Road and he followed Kenilworth Road/Coventry Road towards Kenilworth it is feasible he could have crossed the farmland between Coventry Road and Westward Heath Road which would account for the dog seen on 27th December coming from the agricultural land at the rear of the sports ground/allotments on Westward Heath Road.
Captain
I've been told about a possible sighting of Hash on Sunday 27th December at approx 3.15pm. A very similar dog to Hash was seen running along the public footpath which separates the sports ground from the allotments at Westward Heath, very close to the city boundary. The dog came, unaccompanied by any human, from the agricultural land belonging to a local farm in the vicinity of Crackley Hill. It did not return within the 10 minutes the person who saw it remained at the allotments. Have included this link to google map showing the sports ground and allotments - the footpath is on the sports ground side and is separated from the allotments by chain link fencing which can be seen through - http://goo.gl/TvKGYd Would be worth having a look around that area and asking any helpers living in the vicinity to keep an eye out for him.
Raf
Fingers crossed Angel...I guess the dog wardens got alerted about them? I keep praying that you can soon get reunited! Xxx
Angel
Hi Raf, no news on neither of the dog sightings. And we still can't confirm if it was Hash. I hope they get caught soon either way xxx
Raf
Hi Angel, any news on the little dog that was seen near Primark? Has he been caught or do we still don't know whether it was Hash? Xxx
Lolathelostmaltese
I do hope it is him
Am going round there soon to look for him
Raf
Hi Angel, fingers crossed that is Hash!!! How many dogs looking like Hash would be out on their own in town?! I so so hope you get reunited soon! Don't thank me Angel, I wish I could do more....I can just imagine what it must feel like....and that is why I pray with all my heart that you get Hash back home soon!xxx
Angel
Thank you Ellie. Someone else also just commented on Fb: "There was a dog running round town yesterday near primark couple ppl were trying to grab it but it ran off. It looked bit like him but I couldn't tell u if was acc him or not x"
Ellie
Bumping Hashs page due to possible sighting
Angel
There has been another possible sighting of Hash. A gentleman saw a dog on his own outside the shop where he was in, he went out to check on him but the dog was already gone. Later in the day he went to the post-office and saw a poster of Hash. He thinks Hash is the dog he saw. The sighting was in Coventry town center, in Queen's Road (near the train station). If anyone goes around town please keep your eyes open. Thanks to everyone.

Raf, thanks a million again for all your help and support, you are a darling xx
Raf
Hi Angel, so sorry to hear that there have been no news...:-( I am on another site today, but will put another poster up at The Alan Higgs Centre tomorrow, printing it from the Doglost website...I'll keep popping in the area whenever I can to keep an eye out...I hope with all my heart that you will be reunited soon! Take care.xxx
Angel
Hi Raf, there has not been anymore news, leads or sightings....=( We've been on hold to see if we or someone could see them again before re-postering the area where posters have been taken down, many still stand. We check everyday for found dogs groups and sites, but no luck there yet either. Thank you very very much for patrolling and keeping an eye out for Hash. And yes please, we'd really appreciate if you put another poster at the Alan Higgs Centre. xxx
Raf
Hi Angel, is there any news on Hash? I have seen today the poster at The Alan Higgs Centre has been taken down....would you like me to print another one and put it up? I went driving around a few times in the area, but didn't see any sign.... :-( xxx

Thank you so much guys, it's not Hash but a very very close match. Status is on "owners found" but will call the number to confirm the microchip matches the owners. Very glad this beautiful boy has been found and safe, great news! If only was Hash....
Raf
Hopefully I am wrong, but just from looking at the photos in detail, I don't think the dog found on lostbox is Hash...But I may be wrong! I drove around the area today and a couple of days ago....I don't live far, so I'll keep popping in the area...Really hope Hash will be back home before Christmas...xxx

I have opened the link and it is just a link to the Stolen and Stray Pet Recovery website.
Lolathelostmaltese
I'm starting to hope hash is with someone- although conditions are not the best my bet is he for now is in a cage indoors warm - any dog could freeze outside in this wether I do hope he isn't wandering streets

Oh and Angel please bear in mind that hash may be a little unrecognizable as it has been a while since he went missing and he may be matted and have longer fur then normalLast edited: 2014-11-23 23:15:50 by Lolathelostmaltese

I cannot open the link either. Lolathelostmaltese I am afraid I do not understand some of your comments. As I have been Co Ordinator for Leicestershire in particular for many years, any information that you may have regarding anything you know in that area can you please inform Admin so that I can liaise with our Police Contact Co Ordinators

Wow!! Lola it sounds as if you really know your stuff so it's great to have you on board. Sadly I can't access the link that you've sent
Lolathelostmaltese
While there is no proof of being stolen it turns out that there are many stolen dogs in coventry thankfully though most are reunited I will look into I further whatchdog this space....
Lolathelostmaltese
Right if we are going to do shifts I'm happy to do some whenever wherever so contact me if we are

Trish are you able to get hold of the man who thought he saw hash and ask him if the man looked like this:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/hunts-cross-asda-dog-theft-280460

Because there have been number of collie crosses stolen by him it seems
Lolathelostmaltese
As in if these people have stolen him they are traveling up the m1 I think
Angel
Thank you for the info, your help and support Lola. Hash isn't neutered. I think the Marina that the gentleman means is the "Marina Fish Bar" where St James Lane joins London road, in Willenhall (Coventry). The police doesn't take stray dog cases, unless the dog is stolen. They said that at this moment there is not enough evidence to suggest Hash has been stolen, so no luck with them helping for now. When you say "I think the people who may have hash are staying to m1", I'm not sure what you mean?
Lolathelostmaltese

Have reported them - rspca will check and if hash is there he will be given to you I'll still keep in touch though giving you updates as I say he may have been sold on but we will find him

Return home soon hash - your owners will be very happy to have back it doesn't matter whether it is before Christmas or in five years time they will always want you and there will always be a spot for you but promise me one thing, get home as soon as you can or until we find youLast edited: 2014-11-22 16:18:59 by Lolathelostmaltese
Lolathelostmaltese
We are talking about Marina in lestershire right?
Lolathelostmaltese
Oh dear Angel please check this out

http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/board/topic/27032.html
Potential puppy farm!! Is hash nutered???

If he is then they could sell him on to a lab - not to panic you but I think you should let police know and for that matter the RSPCA I'll keep looking for info
Lolathelostmaltese
Long shot but could this be him with short coat???http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/814789-tri-colour-border-collie-1-year-old-corby.html
Lolathelostmaltese
Right I think the people who may have hash are staying to m1 I'll see if I can find out anything more my guess is he may be sold on - I will do my up most best to prevent that happening try to keep it quiet as people may hide... they otherwise seem to be heading to Leicestershire anyone who has friends in the area tell them to keep eye out

We'll find you soon hash - hold on!
Angel
Thank you so much to every single one of you. As Trisha already mentioned, the gentleman saw him at 2.20pm in St James Lane with 2 men walking up the road towards the school from Marina sides. Maybe there is a pattern on the time and location, or it could have been just a random walk. This gentleman will keep an eye, as it's his usual route from work. They could be anywhere around the area, so feel free to keep an eye open wherever is best and more convenient for you. Once again, we really appreciate all your help and kind hearts xx
Raf
Hi Angel, thank you very much, it's only a flu bug, so should be back to normal very soon. Just let me know if you do need me on specific times/places...otherwise, as soon as I feel better, I'll just do some random shifts in the area whenever I can....fingers crossed little Hash is going to be back home soon!xxx
Lolathelostmaltese
Hi
I think I may be able to help... I havn' t seen hash but what I do know is there are lots of dogs missing in your area.... I'll keep a look out and see if I can find him on websites - very happy to take him in for the night if I find him and get him 2 the vet. I'll keep you updated if I see him or think I know where he is
Angel
Just to let you all know, we are trying to get the story on the Coventry Telegraph and alert as many people as possible. Spoke with a very helpful lady who will work on it. Let's hope they release it! Thank you Antonia and Coventry Telegraph in advance.
Angel
Sorry to hear you're not feeling too good Raf, hope you get better very soon. That's a good point, and after the sighting of a possible match in the area we've been wondering the same. However, most of Willenhall and surroundings have been covered with posters for the past 6 weeks. Most of the people we asked in Willenhall have seen the posters but no Hash. Everyone was very helpful and said they will keep an eye open. We wanted to re-poster a few spots that seemed as if they were taken off deliberately, but again, you're probably right about patrolling and let them come out before re-postering. Thank you for offering to do some shifts when you get better, really kind of you. And thank you Trisha for your 2 hour shift. You are great guys xxx
Raf
I was thinking that, as the people who got Hash didn't contact the owner, despite the tag with phone number...it might be best to not put too many leaflets in the area, in case they stay put not to be seen....wouldn't it be better to monitor the area, maybe if several people were willing to do shifts....? And see if it is Hash and try and find out where these people live...? I am currently at home with some flu bug, but as soon as I recover, I am happy to do some shifts! Just let me know!xx
Unknown
Spent a couple of hours, 1pm -3pm, in the area of the sighting on the off chance that I would be able to see and photograph the dog. No joy today but the gentleman that reported the sighting has said that he will keep his eyes open each day, as he leaves work, and will get a photo if he sees the dog again. Also, one of the admin on Lost and Found Pets Coventry has contacted Angel to offer help putting up posters in the area and another admin has put out some feelers in the local community. Hope we can either verify or rule out this sighting x
Angel
Thank you again Trisha for sharing post and info, and helping to find Hash xx

"Seen at 2.20pm as I'd just finished work. Was with 2 men, mid 40's isn. Plus, one had a bald head and army style jacket, the other had jeans, black coat and walking stick.....would say Trampy looking.
They were walking up the road towards the school from Marina sides, more I've looked at the picture the more I think it was the dog I seen. Was on a lead and looked ok, hope this helps and will keep an eye out"

Possible sighting reported on Lost and Found Pets Coventry. A gentleman saw a dog very similar to Hash in the company of 2 men on St James Lane. I have passed this information on to Hash's ownerLast edited: 2014-11-17 21:07:13

5 weeks gone by and Hash still missing =( . A gentleman saw a dog that looked just like him last week in Ansty. Went to the site to look for signs and leads, left posters around the area and alerted the locals, but haven't hear anything. Could have headed any direction, could be anywhere now. Surely someone may have seeing him!? Please help to spread the word. Thank you xxx

Well spotted. Hash unfortunately has not been reunited with us, we are still looking for him. The dog ID 76495, however, seems to match our description. Let's see if they can upload a picture to clear out our doubts. Will be calling the number first thing in the morning and find out more details. Although he is not really reunited, really hope is him! Thank you for the info, keep it up! we will find him!
Red Alert
Is this the same dog 76495. Just showing as reunited

Thank you so much for your posts and help. Have been hanging posters around the area and will continue to do so. Called all the possible numbers, no news yet... can't wait to find him
