Brooke is back home. We think she thought her mum had gone out of the garden without her and she went looking for her. She obviously went the way they normally walk and when she didn't find her, Brooke turned round and went in the opposite direction and got lost. She was picked up last night by a couple on their way to church. She hopped straight in their car, so she went to church with them. A local farmer and his wife took her home with them, and she was fed and spent the night curled up in a dog basket in the farmhouse. This morning the farmers wife rang round local folks including the adopters neighbour to see if anyone had lost a dog as they could see she was a pet rather than a farm dog. They know the adopter, but hadn't realised she had recently got another dog. Brooke is now safely back home after her adventure and farmhouse slumber party! Many thanks to Claire for her all her help in spreading the word. Phew! - 2014-10-12 21:34 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

Brooke has only been in her new home 2 weeks after adoption from Wiccaweys. It is a very rural area and there were lots of walkers passing the house today. Adopter has been given lots of advice on laying a scent trail, approaching Brooke if spotted, and leaving a safe area for her to return too. Advice given on the way and routes a dog will use to track their way back home and that they may hole up for the night before coming back home - 2014-10-12 19:08 Claire Gresty - Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - North West
