- Please buy him a good harness, as Collies and Shelties cannot slip them. So very glad that Mahogany is back home - the power of Dogs Lost and its members.

- Will anybody living in the Rogate area please look out for Mahogany. He could be travelling in that direction.

- No sightings so far, He will probably drink from the River Rother which runs through the area, He might also use it as a travelling way. It runs towards Liss and Greatham. If anyone wishes to see the area he is in Google Petersfield Golf Club and look at the Google map of the area. Ness - Mahogany could be anywhere - he could have travelled quite a distance since Saturday - Dog Warden, vets, etc have been contacted by the new owners. The place he was lost from is where Road to Midhurst and the London Road meet.

- On the old A3? Before or after Hillbrow crossroads? Durford Wood area or beyond?
I can walk up that way with mine if that would help but need to know where to start.
Have you contacted the dog warden? All the vets in the area? Local shoots and gamekeepers / farmers etc
Pubs - Jolly Dover / Rising Sun
Fantastic sheltielover to get postmen and delivery drivers, they are on the move all day. - 2014-10-15 21:43 sheltielover
- I have looked at the area in great detail - although there are a lot of swimming pools in the area - he may visit one once, but due to the chemicals in them, he would not choose them for his water source, The River Rother runs along the edge of the woods and will be where he prefers to drink, thirst will quickly drive him towards it. He would however hide up during the day and go there at night. It is not too high at the moment and he might travel up or down the river. We need posters wherever the river runs. Google Petersfield Golf Course and use the google map to see its course.

- Posters up in Liss and Petersfield and District postmen have one, also Yodel drivers.

- Thank you for that - she could work her way either towards Liss, or towards Midhurst. Collies can move fast and travel long distances, let us hop she stays near that area. Watch in an area of easy water access. I will now look at the map and see what may attract him
everybody be aware - 1. If you see him, do not shout, whistle or try to catch him. After 5 days he is already in survival mode.
2. Carry food in your pockets and as you walk away, drop some.
3. Until we have a sighting there is nowhere that can be identified to start a feeding station.
4. As he is new to the area, and the family - leaving their cloths around is not going to work Did he bring any toy or blanket with his smell on it - from his old home. 5.If a trap is set to catch him, it must not be left unattended - someone will have to be near it at all times.

- Hello all. Thank you for your concern. Mahogany went missing just off the old London Road travelling out from Petersfield in Liss/Liphook direction in dense private property/woodland.

- I agree with sheltielover. Both breeds are very wary when on the loose, so a distant, calm, measured approach is essential. They will just keep running away. It would be very helpful to know the exact spot he went missing because he may return to it.

- Could you please state exactly where Mahogany went missing, it is very important - posters need to be put up and a message added to them not to chase or try to catch him, but to report back to the contacts immediately. Collies - like Shelties - go to ground and can be difficult to catch. It may take time.

- How long had he been with you? Please pinpoint precise area he went missing so we can help.

- Hi. Can you be more specific whereabouts Mahogony went missing. GU31 is Petersfield area but covers a lot of villages too. If you can narrow it down closer, it will help. Hope he's home soon.
