Dog Found - now in Meath Shelter 2/4/21

This boy was found yesterday evening (1/4/21) along a slip road off the L8008 parallel to the M3.

He was alone and not wearing a collar. He had been spotted about 2 weeks earlier also alone but couldn't be caught.

He's a little thin, with a thick coat. His teeth show signs of age and wear suggesting an adult dog. He has eaten a little but has been sick. Drinking lots of water though. He does seems very anxious.

Will be checked for a chip today. Please contact 085 2080770 if you recognise him.

I was just going to post the Link for 'stray spaniel at vets in Billericay (chipped & registered to address in London)
but i see it below - here are comments on the link
.............Whilst in the vets just now, a couple bought this dog in as a stray. They found him in Billericay... He is chipped and registered to an address in London. He is very excitable and friendly. That is all the details I have. Potential owners to contact Companion Care at Pipps Hill, Basildon.

Gumtree ad 14/4. 1109503142 Horley add is for Springer male spaniel but picture shows black cocker with some white on front. Also dog appears to be tied up by a bit of blue nylon rope. They want £400 for him

Difficult to tell as advertiser doesn't even mention sex of the dog but could this be Rowlf? If you think possible maybe enquire for more details pretending to be an interested buyer. I have shared again on my Facebook, also on Springer Spaniels, Sprockers and Cockers facebook group. There are other facebook groups that might be happy for you to join and share, some have a large number of members so could help in your campaign. I am in Springer Spaniel related ones but you could try some of the facebook groups for Cockers and possibly working gundogs? x

Think it might be a good idea to contact The COuntryman magazine and get him featured on their stolen working dogs section - I have heard this has worked well in the past. Make Rowlf To hot to handle !! Hope and pray he is returned to you quickly.

Oh no, what an awful thing to happen. Apart from the advice listed below, have you tried contacting local shoots / gamekeepers /working spaniel clubs, that sort of thing? Not sure if he is a trained working dog but he might be offered to those circles? A male springer went missing a couple of weeks back from Graffham, not far away, posted as lost but now wondering if he might have been found/stolen too, very sad. I have let my other dog walking friends know to keep an eye out but not sure what else to do to help. Just hope you get him home soon x

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. He is still missing. They stole him from lower street and there was no chance of him escaping as he was enclosed behind a 10ft wall.

The thief/thieves jumped the wall using my neighbours step ladder, opened the gate from the inside which was locked in 3 places and grabbed him, jumped in a car and wheel spun off. I actually wouldn't know where to begin as i do not know where the car was going but they headed in the direction of the Swan pub. Not sure if this is of any use to anyone but its all i have i am afraid.

Very sorry to see Rowlf is missing, I hope he's back home soon. I'm in RH20 and out walking in the area most days, so will keep an eye out for him. Is there any more specific info about where he went missing from / approx address? Is it possible he could have escaped? Please contact me if you need help looking in a particular area. If you haven't already done so, can I suggest you contact local dog walking companies too? x
