An Garda Siochàna - Irish police- have recently seized 24 Dachshunds believed to be stolen. All dogs have been removed to Ashtown Pound. - 2014-10-30 15:48 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- I have spoken to owner. The area where they live is surrounded by fields/woods/ditches/rabbit holes/badger holes, there is a stream & a railway. They have been out searching with friends/neighbours & relatives. They have checked railway line (as far as can be seen & is safe). The trouble is, a lot of the terrain is very wild/muddy/wet. Because the other dog came back quite traumatised & anxious, she feels the dachsy may have been injured by a badger or got stuck somewhere. I have reassured her that he could still be out there, as the weather is mild & there are plenty of rabbits etc for him to eat & he has access to water. They will continue to search. There are posters up around the area.
Keeping fingers crossed for his safe return. - 2014-10-29 17:42 Lesley
- Has the owner checked the railway line?

- Saw both dogs on Monday morning by the stream near the railway bridge between Ladock /Probus. (Didn't know they were lost then - just thought they were out on a walk with someone) Spoke to owner that eve who said the Spaniel had returned. Been out today and yesterday in same area but haven't spotted Jasper yet.

- I hear the spamiel came home lagged in mud. Could Jasper have become stuck in some mud? Where is muddy close to home? He can't be far? Have owners thoroughly checked around a wide circumference of their house?
