- Hi, I'm Debbie. Randall now lives with myself & my 3 children. Yes my household's financial situation is pretty dire! Being a single mother of 3 is far from easy and we don't ever have any luxuries, we do however have lots of love which Randall is swarmed with. Having a dog join our family certainly wasn't on the agenda but when I found out what was happening to him I couldn't just sit back and let it happen! There are some very cruel people in this world and I rescued our lovely boy from having cigarettes stubbed out on his back, and being neglected for days on end! My priority was getting that lovely Staffy out of his nightmare existence and giving him something to live for! No animal deserves to be mistreated, after all they can't speak up for themselves so it's up to the decent humanity of this world to try and put that right! Our garden gate is now secure & padlocked, a friend of mine has helped me towards the cost of getting him insured, also I qualify for PDSA which is in the process of being arranged. I've also now had him microchipped. As for providing him with adequate food, that goes without saying - I would rather go without food myself than deprive him of the nourishment he needs. Thanks to the help of donations to DogLost, Randall is back where he belongs, in his 'forever home'. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped make this possible.🙏 💖

- I agree with Happiness Yorkie Lover; Randall is loved and wanted. At the rate Staffords are dumped, abandoned, abused and sold for nothing on Gumtree, the fact that he is loved and wanted says it all. Just because there isn't much money in a family, doesn't mean that the dog isn't being properly cared for. It seems it was just the amount of the release fee; which at £103 seems steep. That's a lot of money for some people to find at short notice. So glad he's been reunited with his family.

- He is loved and wanted surly that counts for something x and there are plenty of organisations that help dog owners that aren't financially well off x x

- Hazel, have given the owner details of free chipping in her area and she will get it done. Also told about PDSA so she is aware. Jo Glos she saved Randall from an awful situation and now he is safe and cared for. Sometimes its not easy to stump up £90.00 just like that. Ive been in situations before where ive needed help. There are organisations out there who help people who want an animal but sometimes cash isnt always on tap. Her garden is secure someone undid the latch and as for food Randall has food. Many vets, should he need to go to one offer a pay scheme so thats another thing to be considered!!Last edited: 2014-11-01 10:48:07

- Well done Gilly...I have just organised Microchipping via the Dog Trust for free so worth owners giving them a call to find nearest vet that supports the scheme. Also look to see if family qualifies for using the PDSA who is primarily there to support families and their pets if medical treatment is needed. I will never forget how they helped my disabled father's dogs and to this day regularly donate to support their services xx

- If the financial situation in this household is this tight..how on earth are they going to manage insurance, microchipping, securing the garden properly, vet treatment and food? Or are at least four
of those things not going to be provided? This rehoming situation really concerns me as it doesn't seem to bode well for the dogs ongoing welfare unless other people donate cash. Not always the right reasons to have a dog. - 2014-10-31 15:22 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- Unfortunately Randall got out of my garden about 7am this morning as someone had unknowingly released the catch on the gate lock in our garden. Both myself and my teenage daughter searched for Randall for several hours but neither if us had any luck finding him. We then got a phone call from the Dog Wardens saying they had found him but in order to get him back, we would need to pay a fee of £61.50. Unfortunately, we had no means whatsoever of finding such a huge release fee at such short notice and we are totally devastated that we are unable to afford to get him back home with us! We only had Randall for a couple of weeks after rescuing him from his previous owners - apparently they used to stubb their cigarettes out on his back and would quite often leave him for days on end with no food, and no-one for company. During the short time he was with us, we grew to love him so much. Considering what he has been through in his short life, he is such a loving little Staffie who isn't phased one bit by other dogs, or even cats for that matter! He is also amazing with children, his only downfall is his smelly bottom which is something which can easily be controlled! As I type this comment, my eyes are streaming & I can barely see! I have my fingers (& toes) crossed that someone visiting Forest Lodge Kennells is able to give him the loving home that he so deserves! Love you Randall x

- The release fee shouldn't be that much he was only lost today xx I'm willing to donate x

- The owner has posted on facebook that she does not have the release fee to get him home. He has apparently been taken to Forest Lodge Kennels :-(

- Dog warden has this dog but is struggling to get owners to answer - I ave just called them and spoken to female owner - if they can get him via the van rather than going to kennels it will save them a hefty chunk of the fine just a collection fee
