I'd like to add as it's only just become apparent to me, that Chris does have somewhere to be staying as opposed to sleeping rough, so him and Lil are secure, warm and safe for the Winter. For a last time, thank you to everyone. You've made our whole family incredibly happy.

The photo of Lil commuting is also very sweet and funny.. Her face says it all as she looks like a seasoned commuter - lol!

Bobble - I couldn't have said it better! None of us are entitled to judge when the majority of us have never found themselves in that situation. The reunited photos are just wonderful and the one of her in the park certainly brought a smile to my face. I'd love to be there for the Brighton reunion. Am wondering whether it's possible for Lil to be attached to her primary carer while he slept so that he would be aware if Lil wandered away or if someone tried to take her - perhaps a longish lead attached to a sturdy belt worn by Lil's carer? Others on here may have other suggestions. Welcome 'home' Lil and please stay warm, close and safe xxLast edited: 2014-11-02 13:22:31 by Millys Mum

This has made my day - felt so helpless when I read about Lil. many in society just do not realise how important their dog is to people who find themselves homeless for whatever reason. I have no doubt that Lil is loved and that Chris was devestated to find his companion missing. He is very fortunate to have Oliver looking out for them both. It saddens me greatly that people are prejudice against those whose lives they cannot begin (to bother) to understand. Well done to everyone who helped and I hope that some people who read this will realise the error their ways. Prejudice is a nasty condition that helps no one.

Many homeless people have a dog or two as a companion and they are the most important thing in their life. Anyone visiting this page will know how important a part of our lives our dogs are - add to it ten fold and you may get the idea. Please discourage prejudice against homeless people having a dog. In some cases the only reason they cannot rent a home is because they will not give up their dog. So pleased for Lil, Chris and Oliver x

I am currently having a cuddle with Lil on my couch in London - I think I'll be taking her back to Brighton tomorrow, but for now it's time to pamper her.

Thank you all so much for helping her get back to her family. You are all fantastically kind hearted, and I would love to help do the same for others in the future. I will be forever grateful.

Whoo hoo!!! Greeeaaat news .. Lil has been reunited with Oliver!! She was very excited to see him and is absolutely fine.
So, so happy for him! Lil was with a group of homeless people (fellow dog owners) who had seen her with someone and taken her back from him as they knew the owner. Goes to show that we should not prejudge methinks. Thanks to them Lil is now safe again.
Thank you to all who helped with posters but especially to the Brighton Dogwatch group on Fbk who always rise to the challenge when dogs go missing in their area.
I think Oliver will try to find Lil's owner to speak to him and then take Lil home with him for now but I will leave him to update when he can.

I really hope this is Lil. Everything crossed! x

Oliver rang to give me the info .. really hoping it's Lili.
Would have gone myself but it's quicker for him to go by train as it would have taken me an hour and a half or more to get there.
Hoping all goes well.
Good luck Oliver!!

A homeless man in the pavilion just borrowed a lady's phone to call and say he has Lil. I'm travelling to Brighton with fingers crossed, if anyone in the Brighton area can visit the pavilion cafe and confirm to me on 07415717606 that it's Lil I will gladly share a reward. Thank you.
Oliver
To ANYONE in the Brighton area - I live in London and cannot come to Brighton to put up posters due to work commitments. However I would more than happily cover the costs if someone were to print these posters and coat the area in them. I would even be happy to print loads AND MAIL THEM TO SOMEONE WHO HAS THE TIME TO HELP. I know it's rude to ask, but with her primary carer's situation I'm unsure if he has the means to print them himself, much less an address I could send them to him at. So if ANYONE could possibly help me, either by printing posters themselves or by allowing me to mail them posters to put up, I would be eternally grateful. I would give anything to see Lil safe again.

It states to me already that this wee one is loved and missed x 1' she is microchipped and 2 her owners are looking for her x x I hope she gets found quickly and returned x if I lived closer I would help but I will help from afar xxxx

I have been in touch with Oliver and it seems that although Lil is constantly with her owner that she was missing when he woke up in the morning. It is unlike Lil to stray from him so there is a possibility she has been taken. I have informed the Dog Wardens (altho Brighton DW's have no out of hours service) by email and am hoping Lil may be with them.
However, we need anyone who could help to please print posters and put them up all around the area to make Lil TOO HOT TO HANDLE.

There have been several comments on some posts regarding Lil's owners status and I am adding this comment from Oliver to let anyone reading this as an answer to those comments.
Oliver posted:
"She is incredibly well cared for. If her "primary carer" was not in a position to care for her, he would leave her with us. She has incredibly specific dietary needs, and he meets them. He loves her very deeply, and cares for her in a manner that matches that. I understand the concern some may have, that she may not be cared for properly - but please consider this. I DO live in a house, and I have never slept rough - and yet I am bending over backwards to return Lillian to this man. I raised her from a puppy, and I love her VERY dearly, and I would never see her put in harms way.
What has happened is incredibly unfortunate, for my family, for her, and for Chris, her primary owner. But nevertheless, we would never place her in a potentially harmful situation. I adore her. My family adores her. That is where your potential debate ends. She is loved"

Please help with posters .. we need to find Lil as soon as possible.
Thanks. Last edited: 2014-11-01 12:21:14 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
