Oscar has never been found, the dog warden had no record of him being handed over. He never turned up in any kennels, rescue centre etc. Something just don't add up.
skyninchar
was oscar ever found x

I have sent the Manchester dogs home an email regarding the dog seen in the Christmas photo on 13th Dec, but so far no reply.
maxandme link does work, user error.
Could the owner look at this dog, please. It could save a lot of time if ruled out.
DogLostRavenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
The link works for me! There is no info with this pic though....could be Oscar and the only paw you can't see is the back left! Hope you find out some more on this Bubbles xx
BUBBLES
maxandme, link does not work. Did you see the same dog as me, black staff with antler horns and red nose. I have just commented on the Cheshire dogs home page with link to DogLostUK Oscar 77508.
OWNERS ADMIN, Please view this dog

I've just trawled through the pictures on the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs' Home FB site and spotted the picture of the Black Staffie, he is the image of the one on the poster! He is all black, unfortunately you can't see his back left paw.I hope this link downloads ok. https://www.facebook.com/manchdogs/photos/pb.254357294191.-2207520000.1419153721./10152865744634192/?type=3&theater

I did not want to put this up as this dog has recently been rehomed by the Cheshire dogs home. It popped up as a Christmas picture, I do not know if male or female or age of the dog all I can see is a black staffy. The Manchester & Cheshire facebook site added photo's on the 13th Dec The photo is quite small shows a dog with red nose and antler horns. You will need to phone the dogs home to find out more.

Manchester council have just sent a memo to the dog wardens covering the M22 area to try to locate Oscar. I was told all dogs go to Cheshire dogs home. Have just posted a picture and description of Oscar on the dogs home face book site to maybe jog a memory. If I hear anything from the dog warden I will be in touch.

Please view this dog picked up on the 2nd nov and in the pound, one white toe, Kennel name Storm

Just a thought it might be an idea to update the dog ID status to one white back toe and prominent scar on side. Just to jog a memory. Oscar could well be being assessed or in foster, he could also have gone to one of the many staff rescues.
Dee62
No news, he seems to of just vanished without a trace.
Lesley Brown
Unbelievable! Somebody must know where he was taken? There must be some kind of record or log ??
digbysmum
Any news? xx

Just a thought, you can send a message to the animal wardens in the M22 area with a picture of Oscar it might ring a bell with someone.

On lost dog poster the find date is Nov 2nd, Paul mentions Oscar was collected by warden on the 10th Nov. Which date would be logged by warden?Last edited: 2014-12-06 13:28:31 by BUBBLES

Thanks for the link, but that's not Oscar he only has 1 white toe on his back left foot. He also has a prominent scar on his left side from surgery.Thank you to everyone who is looking for Oscar.

I don't think it is him but perhaps owners could take a look please
Maggie
I have been in contact with Oscar's family this morning. We will do everything we can to help Paul find Oscar.
Dee62
Paul has been to Warrington, he wasn't there.
Lesley Brown
Somebody must have some trace of where this dog has gone. Which warden would have picked him up from Wythenshawe? Mdh covers this area, but he may have been taken to the Warrington branch (grappenhall) due to their being limited space after the fire.

Dee62
Still nothing seems that there's no trace of him at all.
mayjul
This is dreadful. Does admin have any numbers for anybody that may be able to help Paul and Oscar? I really hope so as days are turning into weeks and it will get harder and harder to locate poor Oscar x
Dee62
Hi, Paul hasn't got oscar back yet the dog wardens still can't trace him. Paul has been to Leigh and he wasnt there.

Not sure if correct but someone on a facebook group has suggested the found was taken to leigh dogs at Bolton and they have several staffys on their rehoming page

I too am very worried about dear little Oscar, knowing how ruthless some rescues can be, especially when it concerns staffies. Do hope that he is safe somewhere and is soon reunited with Paul xxx
SuzeeBee
Is there any more news on this dear dog. Am very worried as he has already been over a week since the dog warden took responsibility for him. I hope that Paul has managed to track him down today and that this mess is sorted and Paul and Oscar are reunited x
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
Maybe Jayne can confirm but I think the details were sent to us by email and why head office have registered.

paul, the Manchester Dog Wardens will be back on duty tomorrow morning. I would give them a ring and see if they have found anymore details, he has to be somewhere. It's all very strange.
DogLostShelley Page - Area Co-ordinator - North West
This seems madness the dog is found and then lost in the system, how can this happen again thought records of found dogs where kept so could then be reunited when owner traced or in contact,if dog was register on here did the person who registed it not keep a track of where it was then taken, make the whole system seem wrong,I so hope u r reunited with the dog real soon xxxx
digbysmum
Hope it's good news ..... xx
mathers22
Hopefully there should be some news about this poor dog soon - good luck xx
digbysmum
What a sorry state of affairs. Shouldn't be that difficult to trace this poor dog. Do hope he is soon located and reunited with Paul. What a worry xxxx

is the new dogstrust in denton taking in strays?as I saw yesterday they claim to have taken in over 100 dogs since opening 3 weeks ago.x
c
alot of animal wardens from lots of areas (even from other counties for some reason) take dogs to Common Fold Kennels in Tyldesley. They are then moved on to Leigh Cats and Dogs Home.
mathers22
How upsetting I hope he can be found soon - good luck x
paul
i went to cheshire dogs home yesterday an thay hav'nt seen him.i phoned 0161 234 5004 several times an thay have no record of him either. so phoned manchester dog home again an spoke to some one called coiln he said he will phone me back when he has more information. very strange this because we no the wardens took him on the 10th of november he must be some were
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
The Animal Wardens haven't covered Manchester City Council area for a while. I posted Mcr's number on the 18th (0161 234 5004) but don't think they will open now until Monday as they don't have an out of hours service since stopping the Animal Wardens. If Mcr dog wardens collected him they will have taken him to Manchester Dogs Home and the same day he will have been transferred on to Cheshire Dogs Home in Warrington - since the fire. They are only obliged to hold them for 7 days, I know its a long way but I really think you need to get to Cheshire as soon as you can paul.
wensmum
Keep trying Paul. Ask them to check back to the dog warden, as sometimes the info the council have isn't exactly what the dog warden says, but if you actually get to talk to the warden you might get better info. Best of luck
paul
will do thanks very munch. the only thing they said was that they dont cove area
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
okay go to animalwardens.co.uk website and see the found report and email them via the contact sheet...so if they don't cover the area did they not give you the number of which section of them does?
paul

DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
animal wardens Manchester number is 01942 880055

The found staffie from M22 on the 10th of November which we think could be your dog is listed on animal wardens site under reference number 351414...as listed earlier...they made the report they must have details....are you sure you are ringing animal wardens uk?
paul
i have rang the council several tims an they cant tell me anything with out the full address of the person who found him. i have been to cheshire dogs home/ leigh cats and dogs home an manchester dogs home an no one seems to know anything about him. so i rang salford council thay said that dont take dogs from the wythenshawe area.Last edited: 2014-11-21 13:00:25 by paul
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Finder says it would have been the 10th November that dog was collected and she seems to remember Salford dogs home was mentioned but the council are aware..so best to contact dog warden again.

Thanks Jayne and many thanks to the finder for getting in touch.

Sounds like a visit to Cheshire Dogs Home is needed paul. Manchester Dogs Home are still not fully operational and although strays are still being taken there, they are only kept there for a few hours and then taken over to Cheshire in Warrington.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.

DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
paul, have you tried ringing the Manchester Council Dog Warden? By law they should have reported them finding the dog to the council warden and they should have the details. If they haven't I would pass the details of the finder on to them as it is an offence, theft by finding and they should be able to look into for you. The dog wardens number is 0161 234 5004.
Dee62
Hi, Did the person who reported that they had found oscar not say where or what they were going to do with him. I have spoke to rescue centres today that told me if he is registered on the doglost website they shoukd know where he is.
paul
thank you to every one who is trying to find oscar hopefully ill have him home soon. again thank you
Lesley Brown
Thanks very much for checking Jeffandalfsmummy. The dog we're trying to locate was found on the 2nd of November. He was spooked by fireworks and somebody picked him up. Just trying to find where he went after that x
Jeffreysmummy
Could this dog be listed on the animal warden site Found Dog 10 Nov 2014 Staff
Location: Manchester M22 Our Ref: 351414? It doesn't give any more info you would need to ring them.
Lesley Brown
