I do feel for you Adam - when we were up in the Lakes a couple of weeks ago our border collie (yes, Silver)nearly bolted off at the top of Wasdale Head by the pub when he saw some other dogs. Have you informed the people who own that hotel/pub as a lot of climbers/walkers go in there. Sounds like the community is really getting into action with helicopter and mountain rescue. I pray that Jasper is found soon xx

not long posted by a climber : Hi guys. Bear with me....
I saw about a dozen working border collies In packs of 3 or 4 today as I climbed Scafell along the Corridor Climb. When I decended from the summit of Scafell at about 1300 i headed north east down the gully then up the boulder field in the direction of Great head.
Close to the top of the boulder field I saw a lone black and white collie lying down under a cliff face in the sun. I didn't think anything of it at the time as I had seen a few collies out and about. After seeing this group I thought I should share this info. It was my first time up Scafell so I'm not sure about the practicalities of a dog getting round from where Jasper was last seen to where I saw the lone collie. Admins please feel free to PM me if you think this may be relevant.

Not sure if you are going into any residential areas in the Lakes i.e. villages etc. please ask people to check their back gardens, people don't tend to go into their gardens when the weather gets cooler. My friends dog Puzzle was reported missing with DogLost.co.uk and their dog was found safe and well under a bush in someone's back garden.

Hi, yes jasper is microchipped and yes the local MRT has been informed along with Sarda - people are currently working down lists of farms and B&B's in the area to let them know of the missing dog and Adam was searching in Low Gale area of Ambleside today thanks to the tip off on here! A training helicopter has been over the area but could see no sign of the dog - hope that helps - Amanda

Just in case Adam missed this on his FB page, a guy who runs a search team is offering to help. I have pasted his message below.
Sion Jair Dogs always return to the exact spot they went missing from. This is usually up to 4 hours after. If you still havnt found him by tomorrow morning let me know. I run a specialist search team in the lakes and will be willing to help. Get in touch. My email is: specialservices@mail.com

Hi Wendy,

I'm trying to find some family friends who spend a lot of time in the Lakes to go out.

It might be worth posting the request on facebook - if you haven't already. I did look but couldn't see it. It would be good to know where Adam set off from on Sunday and the route taken and route back if different, where he has looked today and yesterday and any where he would like people to look. A sniffer dog was used to try and find Murphy and it did track for a while but I think it was too long after he went missing. Lewis might be able to offer some advice there but if Adam is considering this then definitely do it sooner rather than later.

Just spoken with Adam. We really need people to help search, it is such a large area!! He will download a map from his GPS from Sunday and his search today, I will post on here if it's possible to! Are there any SEARCH dogs in the area or that are willing to help please? Wx

Cross-post from FB: "Hi guys, I'm posting on behalf of Adam and Jasper, I've been logged into his account today looking at everyones messages whilst Adam's out looking. Extremely overwhelmed with your help, everyones been amazing!! Unfortunately I can't get in touch with Adam as there's no signal where he's out looking. Im assuming he's not found yet, as he'd ring if he had. Here's a bit more info if this will help - Adam was parked at Wasdale but lost Jasper around Cam Spout Crag yesterday at about 2pm. There is the chance it could be Jasper running around Ambleside, he knows the area quite well, I would say, he's been there a lot walking. Can i please ask anyone if they are in the area to keep your eyes peeled, Jasper's very friendly, but he'll be scared and hungry now! Food's not normally an incentive for him (though he will now be hungry!) but he does love a ball, so if there is anyone in the area walking their dogs, if you have a spare ball that you could take out, this may help Jasper to come to you. Please continue to spread the word and send messages to Adams inbox, or mine, if there's any sightings, or better yet, if anyones found him. I'm aware its getting dark again now, but fingers crossed he's still ok out there x"

Too far away to help but I've emailed The poster to Pete Davies (web master for Blencathra Foxhounds) and asked that he put Jasper on their website or maybe he can contact local landowners via email. It's a huge area and very remote so hopefully this will help cover a large area quickly. Our local hunt were brilliant when one of my dogs went missing.

Owner is out looking now, a sighting at Garnnet Bridge on the back road to Burnside in the Longsledlle Valley at 7:45am matching Jasper's description, also a lady called Jacquie Wyatt has a dog from the bottom of the mountain, a small male collie, gave 01843226678 as the number to be called before 12:30, have messaged the number given on here with these details and they are following them up, fingers crossed xxx

I'm not local so can't help practically, but if there's someone local who could go round and poster all the possible start points to walking Scafell/Cam Sprout so all walkers going up this morning are alerted - that would be a fab start to the day. x

I have chatted with Adam and adviced, re leaving clothing, going back to original last known site etc etc, have shared on Agilitynet, Flyballers Fb, we are talking BC, Hare and hounds FB, and other BC Fb sites! I have also contacted mountain rescue group I know that have put out an alert! As adam is going to be searching tomorrow is anyone able to help phoning around vets, dog wardens, rangers, farmers etc? If so please post so we know what's happening and can help where possible. Let's get jasper home tomorrow! Wx

PLEASE SHARE! Just now I've lost Jasper! Last with me at 2.00pm at Cam Spout Crag below Sca Fell Pike. This is the last photo of us together. I've just got off the fell now before dark hit. Anyone who knows the area will know he's in the most inaccessible area of the lakes and could end up in a number of valleys! If you see him please could you let me know. The plan is to head out tomorrow to look for him and inform all the hotels/pubs in Langdale, Wasdale, Borrowdale and Ennerdale. Many thanks for all your help, I know you will all be great in helping me out here!

ADMIN - Jasper was lost on Scafell and his owner Adam is going out to search for him again at first light tomorrow. Can you please share to local areas tonight so that Adam can get help covering the large area that Jasper might have got to? ADAM, if you can have someone at home base tomorrow covering email, Facebook, Doglost etc and communicating with you, whilst you stay on your mobile and out looking for Jasper that's the best way to work it. Everything crossed that you find him tomorrow! x
