- Result !! So pleased she's home. My dog was delighted we didn't find her as he scoffed the pocket full of treats I had with me.

- Thank you all for everything you have done. RonnieCS and Jenny4, you're both stars. Sadie had travelled approx 2 miles to Walkford and was found wandering in a quiet residential road and caught with treats by a dog loving family (who incidentally go to the same dog training class that we go to with our Irish Setter)so they recognised us. Please thank everyone for their efforts, including kind people putting up posters. Please let me know if any other dogs go missing in this area and I will do what I can to help. xx

- When Sadie rushed down the road, which direction was she heading? Nea Meadows/Hoburne/Havelock Way? Lady in your road is putting poster on her gate. Similar situation in June, Henry, dog from Cyprus went missing Friars Cliff and was found hiding in bushes not far from where he ran off. Didn't respond to being called. Might be worth concentrating search closer to home

- What a wonderful community we have in our area - thank you all so much! We have put a cage with bedding, food and water in the porch. Tomorrow I'll do the posters, radio and newspapers. I used to be an Echo reporter so have contacts there. You are all lovely people and I can't thank you enough.

- Have shared via NFDOG and Friendly Dog Club. If you email Julian Clegg at Radio Solent, he is likely to mention it.

- Glad the microchip is sorted. Try contacting local paper too. Good luck.

- I forgot to mention, if possible set up a video camera (unless you have cctv) to establish if she comes back tonight. If you can establish this then you can wait up tomorrow (as she will return again if she has done once) and then you can close the gates once she is in the grounds. This is also a good way to establish if she takes the food or if it has been taken by cats

- Jack fm and Heart radio stations have been helpful in the past and possibly the Echo Newspaper may help with a story

- I've emailed local dog walker as he tends to walk Gus Common around 8am. I'll walk the area in the morning. She may make her way towards Sainsburys or the other food outlets in the area.

- Thank you so much for your helpful comments. Her chip is in the process of being processed at Petlog - they have the paperwork and know I am the owner, and that she is missing. I will take the advice to put a cage outside the front door with food and water. It's also suggested I contact a local radio station - does anyone know if BBC Radio Solent has a lost dogs slot, or any of the local commercial radio stations? The rescue group is in Spain and they will go mad when they hear about this! I just hope we hear something tomorrow.....

- Beautiful girl, hope her chip is registered in the UK.

- hope shes home soon........ maybe someone has picked her up and keeping her safe for tomorrow , well I hope so x

- I totally agree with what VGS have said about the chip. I helped a local dog a while back that was a setter that had come over from Greece. She ended up sitting in kennels as her chip didn't recongnise.
The setter I previously helped did keep returning to the house so not only leave the gates open but leave a den/shed/covered dog crate available, as well as food and water. If she returns and you see her, don't approach her but open the house door and move away from the door or hide behide it so she can pass back through it. If she liked the car you can do similar by opening the car doors or boot.
The rescue you got her from may also offer you advice so I would detinately contact them.

- So sorry to read about Sadie. Seeing that you have recently adopted her from Spain just wanted to check that Sadie's microchip is registered on a UK database? If not Call Petlog main number: 01296 336579 ASAP. We have shared

- Thank you for your help. It's devastating - we had only had her for 3 weeks. We have electric gates which are always closed but this morning for some reason they were open (? electrical storms during the night upset the system). When we opened the front door to collect the milk, she rushed straight out into the road and ignored our calls. She rushed straight down the road and despite chasing after her she just disappeared. This area is full of bungalows, and we have driven around looking for her, put a poster up in the local pet shop, contacted dog warden, RSPCA, Petlog etc. She is wearing a tag and is microchipped so if anyone can catch her it should be easy to contact us. But I fear she is cowering away somewhere. I am devastated and keep thinking of her in the dark and cold. We are leaving the side gates open tonight in case she finds her way home. Maybe the back door too!
