Finally bumped into the chap with Iggy lookalike that was a possible in Bradford earlier this year, we were walking right next to the rowing club where Iggy went missing and where the chap was previously seen. Sadly not Iggy although it feels good to have sorted this one and say it definitely isn't him. I can see why it was a possibility as the dog is very doddery but still going strong at 16 and a half, lovely dog. Colouring to chest not right and not grey enough in the face. Have updated Alison and the fb group. Most of my posters from May have been taken down too :(

www.foundandlostpets.blogspot.co.uk: Thanks for the heartwarming tale. The things you suggest have already been done though. Owners and helpers have been working very hard to find Iggy and the letterbox drops have extended way beyond the immediate area.
Helperpoppys petsLesley (ID84584)
It is worth reading Lady's story (80797) - stolen from the garden and because of disabilities then dumped. An elderly man found her and for all the time missing, he was keeping her safe, warm and fed. He was only 10 mins away (unsure if by car or on foot). Lady never got reported to the dog warden as I don't think he knew and he didnt have pc. The owners got Lady into the paper and that's what he saw. I would suggest a door to door leaflet drop in the area surrounding the rowing club. And further ...

I know you've been following Toby and Billy, you do a fab job and I thought of you being close as soon as Bath was mentioned. You were great with the collie that went missing that time, I knew you'd be on the case :-) I wonder if you spotted the same chap as me, I nearly pounced on someone walking an old staffy in Bath on Friday, luckily spotted the leg colouring, could have been embarrassing lol. We'll get him home, we have to!!

Ps did the collie ever get reunited?
Toby and Billy
Alison? has already done a sterling job, Iggy is postered everywhere, even in the Morrisons store and notice board near the meadows, I left another poster to be put in the staff room. Small cards have been printed and distributed. Nearly everyone I spoke to has heard of Iggy, and the vets are praying for a Christmas miracle for you all. I understand there is now a reward too. I ran after a guy who was walking an Iggy lookalike, but it definitely wasn't Iggy, he too had hear of Iggy and is looking out for him. Even the village of Batheaston has a poster in the vets window. All my thoughts are with you Alison and I'm just willing your boy home.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Toby and Billy, I am so pleased that you are in the area to help Alison. Hoping for some news.

Hi MillieVW, I've been following this old boy. I'm heading towards Bath via London Road today so will have a walk around the Snow Hill area, possible talk to dog walkers heading to the Bathampton Meadows too There is also a Vets on the London Road so will take a copy of poster in. Wishing and hoping Iggy will be found for Christmas.

Owner is really working hard for news of Iggy. We just want any news, so if he can be featured in any newspaper that would be great.
DogLostMillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
I know the Wilts times were contacted when he first went missing but I think they didn't take up the story, not sure why.

There has been a huge push today, Iggy is being shared all over Facebook locally again today, it's good to see all local vets behind him. Iggy has to go home!
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Great idea Dogmother and I have only just suggested to owner that she try a local paper too, so great minds think alike.

Someone out there somewhere knows something. I'm sure of it. Please get Iggy home.
Unknown
Sorry that Iggy isn't home yet :-( Alison, have you tried asking the Wilts Times if they'd run an article about him (maybe with 'cash reward for safe return' offered?) as that paper covers both the BoA and Trowbridge areas. Really hope for good news soon x

Bobble do we have a sighting in Trowbridge?
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Iggy is out there somewhere, possibly in the Trowbridge area and we won't give up until he is reunited with his rightful owner.

Please, if you know anything at all do the right thing at this time of year, phone one of the above numbers, call the local Police or call DogLost. Iggs should be home with his family.

There's a market in BoA every Thursday, in the town centre - usually in the library car park I think. If you haven't already, could you print some smaller flyers and ask some of the stall holders to have some on their stalls? I'm sure some would oblige :-) Sorry someone is taking posters down - wonder why? :-(
Unknown
Hope, and pray tnat Iggy is found soon.
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Sometimes, posters are taken down because they have something to hide ;) ....if you are in the area be very vigilant .....smaller leaflets through post boxes might be worth doing in the area? Xx
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Owner is out postering and talking to people all the time, there are some lowlifes that keep taking the posters down, perhaps they have shares in printer ink - who knows - not helpful or public spirited though is it. Owners are constantly spreading the word and networking and the good people of BOA are being wonderful and supportive.

Iggy was in Friday's Wiltshire Times on Friday, so bumping his page. Come home Iggy somehow, lots of people are out looking for you.
Unknown
I really hope you find him safely very soon. I have sent the link to a few friends in BoA. I'm sure you've already asked if the pet shop in town will put a poster up - there's also a noticeboard along the side of the whole food shop, where you could hopefully put a poster up. It seems a dog-friendly town, so hopefully lots of people will look out for him.

Yes everyone needs to look out for Iggy both on a lead and off it. A number of people think they have seen Iggy being walked on a lead. So all options need to be kept open.
DogLostMillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
Iggy's owners are working so hard to get him home, wish I could do more! Big thanks to Mel who is doing lots too.

Back over this morning, Tiga been very helpful and we still need people searching and postering the town areas. Where possible it would be good to get posters inside windows as there is a very unhelpful person removing them in certain areas. Neighbourhood policing team being very helpful.

Been sharing on numerous Facebook pages yesterday and today, logged him with garstons in Trowbridge yesterday. Harris Hill & Gibbons vet has shared on their Facebook page. Railway need to be contacted as the line is right next to the rowing club. Have given a link to Mel for Jenny & Tiga which has been passed on. Fingers crossed for a sighting!

Sorry to see that IGGY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (77858)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
