We have message from the finder advising vet is going to scan tomorrow. Failing that we have offered to go and scan. She is exhausted from a long haul flight, so there is nothing we can do tonight guys. The police actually wanted to take the dog, but Sue said no, that she would deal with it, as she was concerned that this little one would be forgotten about in the system. She has the dog currently and she has arranged for a vet to come tomorrow to scan for a chip. We have offered to go and scan and help if needed. xLast edited: 2014-11-09 20:54:27 by Karen

To Sharon57blue.
If you pop this dog to a vet they will check to see if it has a microchip.
At least please take a careful photo of this dog
Without anything at all we will never know.
Thank you for being so caring and helping this dog

Hideous journey home.
After a ten hour flight and a four hour drive, I was just passing Manchester airport when a dog ran out into the motorway. It looked as though it had been hit. Quite a lot of cars stopped, including me, but the dog got hit again. A few of us tried to catch it, it bit two men but then collapsed and allowed me to get near. I tied it to the central reservation, and got a blanket over it and calmed it down while someone rang the police. It took 45 minutes for the police to come, and even then they said it would probably be a good hour before they could get a vet to it, so I said I'd take it to one. We picked it up and put it on a blanket in my car. The dog perked up,even managing to sit up and stand up. We tied it up in my car to keep it still. Unfortunately after about 15 minutes it died in the back of my car. So now I have someone's well looked after, probably much loved dog. It has a collar on but no tag. It was a beautiful German Shep type, the same colour as my yellow lab all over. I think it was a bitch, well groomed and in good condition.
Any ideas on places to try and let the owner know? I will share this on the German Shepherd rescue site and is there something called Dog Lost? I guess we will bury the dog tomorrow, I will have a look what sex it is tomorrow. Am feeling jet lagged and emotional at the moment!

Sorry Lola is missing. i am in NG14 but I have friends living in Hucknall so i will email them with a copy of the poster. Whereabouts in Hucknall was she last seen please. Its very very important to get the posters up in your area. Also put on facebook and spotted Nottingham. I live in Nottingham but my dog was missing in Luton for 10 days. All these things contributed to his safe return. Please work as hard as you can to find her. Good Luck
