### UPDATE ###
It has been confirmed that a GSD was collected from the roadside at
Daisy Nook. The council contractors were cleaning the area and found
the body whilst working. It was taken back to the depot and stored in
the freezer until the 16th December.
The body was then taken to be incinerated by different private
contractors.
Carl is aware who these contractors are and I attended the last depot
last Friday to see if the body was still there to scan.
Unfortunately th...ey are cleared every week.
The exact date cannot be confirmed as the body was collected whilst
working, and was not a 'call out'. Therefore no formal records were
kept.
Carl has accepted that due to the facts no other GSD has been reported
missing and there have been no leads or sightings of Kane that in all
probability this dog was Kane. It was also early November.
Please accept his decision. There is nothing to stop people from
keeping Kane in mind but Carl has been through enough for now.
He would like to thank everyone, you have kept him going. Please can I
request that no one else contacts the council.
He would like to continue the group so some good can come out of this
awful situation.

UPDATE From Angela Hoy on #FindKane
"UPDATE..... Jay Chambers n Carl Elton since the last update have been searching in the undergrowth junction 1 M62 this was the last report of a gsd being hit and badly injured. Jay had been on the phone to highways agency all morning and followed the lead up from the main H.A.Team who have given her the incident reports from 05/11/14 of dogs being reported on the motorway that night. Matching dates, times and reported descriptions we have come to the conclusion that this is Kane. The area is 5 minutes from Carl's house and as we said before times match. We have done a sweep of 1 side of the motorway, search will continue tomorrow of the other side. Thank you for your continuous support sorry it's not the news everybody was hoping for. Can we still please ask that Carl isn't contacted at this moment in time as u can understand this is a very hard time for him. As for people asking Jay is a very much valued doglost helper and also admin on this group"

This doesn't sound like there is going to be the outcome that we all hope for but still I think it's best to hope that Kane is found.

Update from #FindKane: Just been on phone with carl another sighting of a german shepherd in Dobcross near Navigation pub
Owner is currently on site looking for Kane

Team Kane really need some help......and I mean REALLY!! They are finding it so difficult to drum up support for their campaign and are in desperate need of people to help get the word out. The cultural diversity in the area means that not many people consider finding Kane a matter of importance and this in turn means that they are not getting sightings reported or any physical help. Please.....if you are in the Oldham area and can do ANYTHING TO HELP SPREAD THE WORD get in touch with #FindKane FB group. Is there not a Doglost Co-ord in this area? There's no mention of them having received any information sheets on how to structure their search......
