- Update from West Hatch, they just need to know where she has come from. We can't rule out the possibility that she has been stolen at some point. The wounds are thought to be pressure sores fro being kept in a confined space on a hard surface.
We would like to thank everyone who has offered to either foster or adopt Bramble. We do already have a possible foster home (where there is another Whippet) but at the moment she is receiving daily veterinary care from the Centre Vet and VN so she is not able to be fostered at present. We do not know how long it will be until she can be adopted and there is always the possibility that she has been stolen/lost and an owner may be traced. We will keep you updated and post again further down the line when we know more info about her being available for adoption. Please consider the numerous rescues that have offered their help on this page if you are looking for a dog. We are all in the same situation and desperately need people to take on our dogs regardless of where they have come from. Thanks very much for your support. - 2014-11-21 18:56 Tormor

Do you have any information on who owns this poor dog?
Bramble, the three-year-old Whippet was discovered by a member of the public in Abbotsbury in Weymouth on Saturday (15 November) She is so underweight her bones can be clearly seen and she has painful deep sores all over her body, exposed tendons on her legs and exposed bone on her tail. She is currently receiving veterinary care at the centre.
RSPCA Inspector John Pollock said: “We do not know how long she has been like this and was picked up as a stray. She is in a bad way and we would like to be able to track down her owner. We would ask that anyone who knows where she has come from to contact us as soon as possible. Please contact 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for Inspector Pollock if you have any information. - 2014-11-21 17:13
